Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Kiandria

Identical triplets?

I was bought by triplets?

Was that a Deuce Pack thing, or did having more than one just come naturally to them?

I dug my fingers into my thigh as I sat up.

Why did they look like they were really going to eat me?

I guess being eaten by demon triplets would've given my story some prestige. Now, people wouldn't even think of me because some unknown noblemen triplets decided to buy and eat me.

"P-please don't eat me," I stuttered when one of them stepped forward.

He stopped, and I looked up at him shakily, my eyes subconsciously shifting to the faces of the other two.

How could three people be this identical? From their height to the brown color and wavy style of their hair, down to the muscles on their bodies. They even wore the same clothes—the same color, no pattern, nothing I could use to tell them apart.

"A little further by the east wing, you'll find the room you'll be occupying. Clean up and get ready to work."

I remained on the floor, staring, trying to make sure I had really seen one of their lips move.

At the auction, the voice had been a growl.

This one sounded magnetic.

Perhaps he wasn't the one who bought me.

"Out."

I scrambled to my feet immediately when he barked at my unresponsiveness.

Kiandria, they bought you for five thousand gold coins. Being put to work is far better than whatever else they might have planned.

Next time they tell you to leave, don't hesitate. Just do as you're told.

I chastised myself as I ran in the direction he pointed at.

Such grandeur. The house was enormous and luxurious—surely they were noblemen of some sort.

The left wing had only a few doors. Every one I tried was locked until I reached one that was slightly open.

I stopped at the doorway, clasping my fingers together as I peered inside.

A premium sandalwood door and the room… it was even better than the alpha's room back in my pack.

I push the door open to step inside, then I stand by the door to take in the interior of the room.

"You must be for Master Alton."

I didn't know when I shrieked, screaming out of my mind when a face suddenly appeared behind the mirror.

As if that wasn't enough, another popped out from behind the wardrobe.

My scream didn't deter them. They walked straight toward me, and I immediately lowered my eyes to avoid looking through the see-through silk gowns they wore.

They were both blonde. Looking closer, I realized they shared similar features.

Too similar to be just siblings.

"T-twins?"

But they ignored me and bent to my level, reaching out to touch me.

One turned my face around while the other patted my body, grabbing my breast and weighing it in her palm.

"Healthy." She muttered then suddenly sniffed sharply, her eyes hardening. "An omega!"

"No, she's a witch," the other spat, her smile faltering as she backed away.

"Why would the masters let a witch into the house?" I heard them whispering as they backed further away.

Batting my eyes, I clench my jaw.

Of all the rooms in this massive place, they just had to send me into one with people, but seeing them back away until they were halfway into the room, I exhaled in relief.

This was, by far, the healthiest welcome I'd ever received.

They hadn't attacked me and even gave me space.

Most importantly—

I rubbed my chest, pressing my lips together to stifle my smile.

There were women in this house.

Why they were dressed in almost nothing, I don't understand, but the people of the Deuce Pack were strange, and I'd been blindfolded most of the time.

Perhaps this was simply how maids dressed around here.

If they had maids, then they probably didn't plan to eat me.

"I was with Master Lincoln the entire evening, so it couldn't have been him who bought you."

"So which was it, Master Malcolm or Master Lincoln?"

I furrowed my brows.

They were talking about the triplets. How was I supposed to know which was which when I'd only met them moments ago?

"Did he growl?" Seeming to sense my confusion, they asked simultaneously.

"Huh? Yes—yes, he did," I nodded immediately.

They turned to each other again.

Not sensing any hostility, I rose to my feet and glanced around the room properly.

There was only one bed, but it looked like three king-sized beds joined together.

I scratch my hair in confusion.

The pack with the highest number of slaves had noblemen who gave maids such a nice room and big bed?

My eyes shifted from the bed to the twins when they stopped talking and left the room together without another word to me.

The man earlier had told me to clean up.

Right.

I must smell. I'd been trapped in that cage with my own filth for three days.

There was water in a bucket, so I bathed with it.

Only after I finished did I realize I had nothing to cover myself with.

The overwhelming need to get rid of the clothes I'd been wearing had clouded my judgment, and I'd forgotten to ask for fresh ones.

The twins were gone and I hadn't heard the door open at all while I was inside.

I looked down at myself.

I've always been nimble.

If I could just find something quickly, it shouldn't be a problem.

So I stepped out, scanning the room with my eyes for clothing.

And then I saw the silhouette by the door.

The tall silhouette with blue eyes staring straight into my soul.
