Lucas gasped for air.
Cold wind brushed against his skin as he forced his eyes open. The smell of earth, smoke, and blood filled his lungs.
He slowly sat up.
Around him was a forest unlike anything he had ever seen.
Towering trees rose into the sky like giants. Strange sounds echoed in the distance. Somewhere far away, something massive roared.
Lucas froze.
"What… is this place?"
His memories were chaotic.
The last thing he remembered was working for almost twenty hours straight… exhaustion… darkness.
And then…
Death.
Yet he was alive.
He looked down at his body.
His muscles were stronger, his hands rough, his clothes made from animal fur.
"This isn't my body…"
Suddenly—
DING
A cold mechanical voice echoed inside his head.
[Primitive Survival System Activated]
Lucas' eyes widened.
"A system…?"
A translucent blue screen appeared before him.
Name: Lucas
Level: 1
Strength: 5
Agility: 4
Intelligence: 7
Mission: Survive your first day in the Primitive World.
Reward: Unknown
Lucas stared in disbelief.
"This… this is real?"
Before he could think further—
A deep growl echoed behind him.
Lucas slowly turned his head.
His blood ran cold.
A massive wolf-like beast stood only a few meters away.
Its body was twice the size of a normal wolf. Its eyes glowed red, and sharp fangs dripped with saliva.
Lucas' heart began pounding.
"So my first mission…"
He tightened his grip on a broken stone near his feet.
"…starts now."
The beast lunged.
