Chapter 1 - Chapter 1The Stage of Childhood

The small village school looked a little different in the soft morning sunlight. Many students were standing in rows in the field, waiting for a special guest.

After a few moments, an old man slowly walked into the schoolyard. His hair was white, but his eyes were calm and bright, as if they carried the wisdom of many years.

The teacher said,

"Children, today we have a guest who wants to share the story of his life with you. His name is Ariyon."

All the students looked at him silently.

Ariyon smiled gently.

Then he said,

"Human life passes through five stages. Today I will tell you the story of that journey. These are not imaginary stories… they are stories from my own life."

He paused for a moment.

"The first story is about my childhood."

I was born in a small village. Beside our house there were green rice fields and a small river. When I was a child, I was very playful and mischievous. Playing was always more interesting to me than studying.

One morning my mother sent me to school. I left home with my books, but on the way I met some friends. They were going to play near the river, and I decided to join them instead of going to school.

We played there the whole day.

When I returned home in the evening, my father asked,

"What did you learn in school today?"

I could not answer.

My father stayed silent for a moment and then took me to an old teacher in the village.

The old teacher looked at me and smiled gently.

He asked,

"Ariyon, do you know why the river always moves forward?"

I replied,

"No."

He said,

"Because if the river stops moving, its journey ends. Human life is the same. If a person stops learning, their journey also stops."

That day I felt deeply ashamed.

The next day, I returned to school.

Some days later, something else happened.

While playing in the field, I pushed one of my friends very hard. He fell to the ground and started crying.

Our teacher saw this and called me.

I thought he would scold me, but he spoke calmly.

"Ariyon, it is not wrong to be strong. But when strength hurts others, it becomes a mistake."

Then he added,

"A truly strong person is the one who protects others."

That day I apologized to my friend.

From that day, I began to understand how easy it is to hurt someone, and how difficult it is to be kind.

Another day I made another mistake.

We had an exam in school, but I had not studied properly. When the results came out, my marks were very low.

I became very angry and threw my books away.

At that moment, the old village teacher called me again.

He asked,

"Do you know how long it takes for a tree to grow?"

I replied,

"A long time."

He smiled.

"Then why do you think you can learn everything in one day?"

Then he said slowly,

"Without patience, no one can truly grow."

His words stayed in my mind for a long time.

Slowly, I began to change.

Ariyon paused.

The students in the field were listening silently.

He smiled gently and said,

"When I was a child, I made many mistakes. But after every mistake, someone guided me and showed me the right path."

Then he looked up at the sky.

"But the next stage of my life…

was even more difficult."

A small boy raised his hand and asked,

"Sir, what happened next?"

Ariyon smiled.

"Then began the second stage of my life…

Adolescence."
