It was a rainy evening when Arjun, a curious 16-year-old boy, moved with his family to an old town called Ravenshade. The town was quiet, almost too quiet. Fog covered the streets every night, and the locals avoided talking about the abandoned Hillcrest Boarding School at the end of the road.
Arjun loved exploring mysterious places. One day after school, he noticed a strange thing — every window of Hillcrest was broken except Room 13, where a small yellow light flickered every night.
Curious, Arjun asked the old watchman about it.
The watchman's face turned pale.
"Never go near that room," he whispered. "Some lights are not meant for the living."
Of course, that only made Arjun more curious.
That night, with a flashlight and his phone, Arjun sneaked into the abandoned school. The halls were silent except for the sound of dripping water and the creaking wooden floor.
As he climbed the dusty stairs, he saw it — the faint light coming from Room 13.
His heart pounded.
Slowly… he pushed the door open.
Inside the room was an old wooden desk, a broken chair, and a candle burning by itself.
But no one was there.
Arjun stepped closer. Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind him.
The candle flame flickered wildly.
Then he heard a whisper behind him.
"Finally… someone came back."
Arjun turned around slowly.
On the dusty wall, words began appearing as if written by invisible hands:
"YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO SEE THE LIGHT."
The candle suddenly went out.
Darkness swallowed the room.
Arjun tried to open the door, but it wouldn't move.
Then another whisper filled the room, colder than the night wind.
"Now you must stay… and keep the light burning."
The next morning, the villagers passed by Hillcrest as usual.
All the windows were broken.
Except Room 13.
And the light inside was glowing brighter than ever.
But this time… someone's shadow was standing beside the candle.
