Chapter 2 - 2

The next morning, Luna's parents left early for work, leaving Luna to her own solitude. Luna had breakfast before freshening up and wearing her school uniform which was white shirt, grey skirt, oxblood bow tie with an oxblood suit jacket. She wore her canvas and packed her hair in a pony tail. Putting her jotter, headphone, power bank and other stationeries, she left the house.

She entered the car and put on her seatbelt.

"Millwood High, please", she said to the driver.

"Yes, ma'am", he said and started the car.

Her phone rang and it was a video call from her sister. She picked it up.

"Hello, sister", Luna said. "You sound happy this morning. What's the secret?"

"You're the secret, baby girl. You look cute in your uniform", Camilla said, turning to Giulia. "Come and see my sister in her school uniform, Giulia".

"Aww, my baby. You look cute. You're going to do great", she said.

"Thanks, G!" Luna said. "Cam, I'm very nervous. I feel like I'm gonna pee in my pants".

"Nothing of that sort will happen", Giulia said.

"Don't worry. Everything will be okay", Camilla said. "I trust you. See you later, Luna. I love you".

"Love you too, sis", Luna said and cut the call.

Few minutes later, the driver parks in the school park and Luna steps out.

"Thank you", Luna said to the driver. "I can do this".

Luna followed Mrs. Beatrice to her class since she had an early class. Luna didn't like the special treatment she was getting from the school and its proprietor but she couldn't say a word because she knows what her mum and dad can do.

The only thing she owes them is being a straight A student and being perfect. She has been doing it for a long time though so she's used to it.

"Good morning, students. We have a new transfer student, all the way from Amsterdam, Netherlands, who will be joining us today. Luna, can you introduce yourself?" Mrs. Beatrice said.

"Yeah", she said. "My name is Luna Ilaria Massimo. I'm from Madrid, Spain, but I relocated from Amsterdam. I like to draw, paint, listen to music, dance and sing".

"You're the famous Camilla Gaia's sister?" a guy asked.

"Yeah! She's an athlete at Barcelona", Luna responded. "You're a fan of her?"

"Yep. A huge one", he said.

"Alright, get settled in, Luna. I'll send someone to show you around the school later", Mrs. Beatrice said.

"Yes, ma'am!" Luna said.

"You can sit beside the guy you were talking to", the teacher said, earning a whistle from some of the guys. "Behave or I change her".

"Carry on, Belinda", Mrs. Beatrice said, leaving the class.

After what seemed like a gruesome experience, the bell rang and the students scampered out of the class. Luna carried her stuffs to her locker and dropped them there before looking round the school. She couldn't wait for her tour guide to come and carry her.

Entering into the hall of fame, she found some outgoing students that were here before her. She found them intriguing until a voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

"Hey, new girl", the girl said, folding her hands while chewing gum like a maniac.

"The name's Luna, if you don't mind", Luna said, facing her. "Who are you?"

"Alessia. Alessia Ryan. You're Camilla's sister, right? Are you sure you're not an imposter? I don't trust newbies these days", Alessia said.

"You need proof?"Luna asked.

"Yeah. Solid one at that", Alessia said.

Luna searched through her phone and brought out a contact 'My world'. She called the line and put the phone on speaker.

"Hello, sis. I'm practicing. What's up?" Camilla said, shocking Alessia and her girls.

"Nothing much, I miss you", Luna said.

"I miss you too. We'll talk after practice, okay?" Camilla said.

"Sure. Bye, sis", Luna said and cut the call. "Any other proof?"

"Arrgh! You came here to take over my popularity, right? I won't allow it", Alessia said.

"That's the insecurity inside of you speaking. I don't have time for fame or popularity. It's stressful. I'm sure you have more things to worry about, like your grades", Luna said.

"Get lost", Alessia said and pushed Luna on the floor before trotting away with her girls.

Luna stood up and chuckled before resuming down the hall of fame.

After the first day of school, Luna rested her head a little before dealing with her assignment. After that, Luna left the house since her parents weren't back then. She drove deep into Austin and came to a restaurant.

"What would you like, young lady?" the waitress asked.

"Get me french fries and one cup of Cappuccino, please", Luna said.

"That'll be $10", the waitress said.

"Oh, okay!" Luna said, bringing out her card.

"Don't worry. I'll pay. It's on me", Gabriel said, behind Luna.

"Gabriel. It's a surprise to see you here", Luna said, smiling.

"Same here", he said, sliding his card in. "I'll get the same as her, thank you".

"What are you doing here?" Luna asked.

"I should be asking you that. You left all the restaurants in your neighborhood and came to this one", Gabriel said.

"What can I say? I have specific taste", Luna said, flipping her hair in a flirtatious way.

"True", Gabriel said, laughing, as the waitress served them their snacks.

"Enjoy your meal", she said before leaving.

"Ever since I came to America, I've been eating french fries. My dad will literally kill me if he sees me eating this", Luna said. "My mom lets me sometimes".

"My parents let me. I'm their favourite child anyway. They are not gonna kill me", Gabriel said.

"Lucky you", Luna sighs.

After eating, Gabriel and Luna move out of the restaurant to the car park.

"You need me to drive you home?" he asked.

"Nah! I'm good. I came with mine", Luna said, pointing to her driver who was standing by the car door.

"Alright. Be careful", Gabriel said, entering his car.

"You too!" Luna said, waving as he drives out of the eatery.

Entering the house, Luna moves straight to the kitchen and picks out her Cheerios from the cupboard. She sits on the counter and starts eating it before her parents came in.

"Hey, mom. Hey, dad", Luna greeted.

"Hello, baby. How are you doing?" her dad asked, as he collected water from the fridge.

"I'm okay. Just famished", Luna said, raising the pack of Cheerios to support what she means.

"I ordered pizza", her mom said. "It'll be here soon".

"Fine by me", Luna said.

"How was your first day of school?" her mom asked. "I specifically told Mrs. Beatrice to take care of you".

"But mom, I'm not a little girl anymore", Luna said. "I'm a big girl".

"I know but I still need to take care of you", her mum said.

"Whatever", Luna said, rolling her eyes.

Luna's phone rang and the doorbell rang too. Luna's dad went to get the pizza while Luna answered the call. Luna's mom joined the call when she found out it was Gaia.

"Hey, mum. Hey, Luna. Where's dad?" Camilla asked.

"Right here, my athletic star", her dad said, dropping the pizza before facing her. "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine, dad. Y'all should guess the reason why I'm so happy", she said.

"Uhm...me?" Luna said unsure.

"Sorry, but no", Camilla said, laughing.

"We can't guess, honey", her mom said.

"Well, our coach gave us the weekend off to relax, and we don't have classes from Monday to Friday", Camilla said.

"So?" Luna asked.

"I was thinking, why don't I spend my days off with you?" Camilla asked.

"Oh my God, yes", Luna screamed. "I'll kill to have you right beside me".

"Mum? Dad?" Camilla said, looking at them.

"I'd have said no, but I miss you so badly...", her mum started to say but Camilla shut her up.

"Thank you, mum", Camilla said.

"Thanks, mum", Luna said, pecking her mom's cheeks.

"I figured, since I'll need someone to babysit this big baby when I and your dad are out", her mum said.

"I'm not a big baby, mum. Dad, help me", Luna cried out.

"I'm sorry, Luna. My lips are sealed", her dad said, making everyone to laugh.

"I'll purchase a plane ticket after I'm done with my work", Camilla said.

"Okay. I'll pick you up at the airport", Luna said.

"I can't wait", Camilla said and cut the call.

"She's really happy. It's written on her face", her dad said. "I'll cook her favourite meal when she's back".

"Absolutely", Luna said to her dad. "Let's dig in, I'm very hungry".

Bringing out plates for the pizza, they sat in the dinning room as Mrs. Rachael dished it out. Luna poured juice for all of them to take with the pizza. After eating, Luna cleared the plates and was about to go upstairs when her mum called her to join them but she politely refused.

"I need to study, mum", Luna said.

"Alright! Good night, my baby", her mum said.

"Don't stay awake until very late", her dad said.

"Night, mom. Night, dad. I love you", Luna said.

"We love you too", the duo said.

With that, Luna climbed up the stairs into her room for another rigorous activity.
