Chapter 3 - Chapter-3: Faithful meeting

Past:

One week after the Battle of Alnus hill:

Falmart:

Avalon:

Inside a magnificent castle of a floating island, a heavenly being could be seen sipping tea in an overly lavish room. Every piece of furniture inside this room was in-layed with intricate gold carvings.

At a glance, one would presume this otherworldly being to be in deep contemplation. As if he was unfolding the deepest mysteries of the universe.

"Would you like another cup milord?".

Subtly the angel glanced at his right, where a young bunny girl clothed in a maid outfit was standing. "No that would be unnecessary. Thank you for asking.", the angel replied in a diminutive voice.

"Do not thank us milord. Our only purpose in life is to serve you to the best of our abilities", said the elf girl standing on his right side. Who was also wearing a maid dress and looked much older than the other maid.

Both of which hadn't moved an inch over the last two hours. What's more they were staring at the divine angel with such intensity, as if blinking even once might cause the end of the world.

'Sigh… How did things come to this?', that's what the divine angel or better known as Ainz Ooal Gown was thinking.

Ainz P.O.V:

After I had resurrected all the bunny warriors, instead of repaying me with information, they threw themselves at my feet and swore fealty.

No matter how many times I tried to dissuade them of this notion, they seemed adamant on proclaiming me as their divine god.

At the very least I got a little information about my surroundings. The continent I was currently residing in is called Falmart. Of the entire continent, almost sixty percent is ruled by the Saderan Empire one way or another.

There were a few 'free' cities and demi-human tribe who didn't adhere to the Saderan Empire. One of which was the bunny warrior tribe. For the last year the bunny warriors were in conflict with the empire over their territory.

If the hydra hadn't appeared the moment it did and decimate the Empire soldiers, then the warrior bunnies might have been subjugated and used as slaves.

One could say that the Saderan Empire is this world's only superpower. As all the other surrounding human nations have either been subjugated, or were bullied into becoming vassals to the Empire.

Thus the Saderan Empire depicted itself as a power hungry nation. Anything that wasn't human was inferior and deemed usable as slaves. Even the neighboring countries didn't seem fond of non-humans. For me that was a problem, since I was also a non-human.

For decades the Saderan Empire was trying to conquer all the neighboring demi-human species.

And were making quite a headway towards it. Until I came to this world that is…

Words of my deeds spread faster than I had imagined. They told exaggerating stories and portrayed me as a new demi-human god with unimaginable power, who can even bring the dead back to life. It didn't take long for the surrounding beastmen tribes that escaped the empire's subjugation to come seeking asylum. Unable to refuse I had to accept them.

The Saderan Empire unfortunately didn't take this nicely. As soon after three legions alongside a dozen mages were sent to "exterminate the 'pests'", as they said.

All it took was three maximized third tier spells to send them running.

Things started to snowball from there, as more and more people started coming to him either for protection or healing. Soon even small human groups started joining in.

One day, to get away from the endless worshipping, I thought of taking a leisurely stroll. So when I asked the small bunny girl 'Risa' to show me a spot, she took me to a nearby forest.

To my utter dismay, I stumbled upon an elf village being attacked by a red dragon.

At first I thought of minding my own business and getting the hell out of there. Since dragons were known to be one of the strongest mobs in YGGDRASIL. But the thought of getting rare loot stopped me.

So I was taken aback, when the red dragon died in one strike from the seventh tier spell [Call greater Thunder]. It wasn't even a powerful spell for gods SAKE! I was still in disbelief when one elf spotted me.

I had a feeling of Deja vu when all the elves kneeled before me in reverence, after I killed the dragon.

My gut told me to take the dragon corpse and run away from there as fast as I could. But the elves were incessant in showing proper respect 'To their Savior' and stopped us from leaving early. So we waited for the elves to recover their dead.

While I was busy inspecting the abnormally weak dragons corpse, Risa slipped away from my side to help the elves however she could. And like the brat she was, she blurted out how I had saved them and resurrected their dead.

It freaked me out, when I turned around to find all the remaining elves kneeling on all four. They even had their dead laying beside them. The elf in the forefront kept banging his head repeatedly on the ground, only muttering 'Show us mercy!'.

So when I understood what they wanted, I was reluctant to do it and told them so. I can't just go around resurrecting every poor fellow I find on the road.

But the elves who had surrounded me from all sides kept groveling till their foreheads bled. At last I had to cave in from both peer pressure and the puppy dog eyes I was getting from the little snitch. And used [Salvation] to bring the dead elves back to life, but not before storing the dragon corpse inside my inventory.

But I did have a few choice words and a punishment ready for her after this. That being, standing on one leg while pinching her bunny ears for two hours in front of everyone. At least her mother doesn't seem to mind it.

And as my ill premonition was telling me, the elves swore fealty to me, and followed me towards my temporary abode. Since most of the forest was burned to a crisp.

That's how the elves joined the ever growing hoard of people who proclaim me their god.

But soon another problem arose, that being insufficient space. At that moment there were a few million people of different races living together at the same place. And while the bunny warriors tribes territory was large and their numbers quite low. There just wasn't much food and shelter for so many people.

So they came to me for help. I being their de facto leader.

We could have expanded outward but that still didn't solve the problem of provisions. Besides spreading out might paint a target on their unprotected backs. While I could summon a few thousand angels to guard them, but the threat of being attacked in a moment of weakness still remained.

After a lot of pondering I thought of an idea that might work or fail. In YGGDRASIL the super tier spell [Creation] was the most powerful area of effect spell there ever was. As it's lore said, the spell could create whatever the user desired. But in the game it had very limited effects.

So, I went to a secluded place and started casting the spell, and the first place that came to mind wasn't Nazarick. Since I was pretty sure that other than the ninth floor, beings as weak as them couldn't survive.

No, the place that came to my mind was the floating city of Avalon. Hailed as the most peaceful city in YGGDRASIL.

I half expected the spell to fail. But when the spell succeeded, I didn't expect the violent reaction it would have on me. In a blink of an eye all of my mana fizzled out, but it didn't stop there.

Because the next moment the most excruciating pain I've ever felt spread all over my body. I could feel my skin and bone breaking apart as golden blood gushed out from every pore. The pain lasted for a minute, but to me it felt like an eternity.

As the pain stopped a golden aura enveloped me, clearing my head and letting me think. Wiping the golden ichor under my eye, I focused on sensing my health and mana pool.

While I didn't have a drop of mana, my remaining health was around 62%. Heaving a sigh I laid on the soft grass, while gazing at the pinprick in the distant sky. Which was getting bigger every second.

In a moment of clarity it struck me, of how vulnerable I was at that moment. Any player with a half decent build would be able to take me out pretty easily. Without thinking more I rummaged through my inventory and brought out a sealing crystal.

If it was any other time, I would have never thought of using such a precious item. The sealing crystal held one of the strongest dragon summons, the level 90 Divine Dragon Albion.

Activating the crystal the hundred meter tall dragon appeared In front of me in a flash of light. Its pure white scales seemed to glitter in the morning ray. It looked at me awaiting orders.

Giving it the order of guarding me, I started chugging a max health potion. After which I laid my head down and let my mind drift into darkness.

I didn't for how long I was sleeping, but when I opened my eyes the sun had already set. Looking around I couldn't find Albion.

But I did find a white haired middle aged man looking at me. His regal face seems to be carved from marble itself. The silver colored armor he was wearing looked immaculate. And his golden coloured eyes looked at me with such sincerity.

Even without saying a word, the connection between us informed me that this man was Albion. How? I didn't know. And at that moment I didn't care either.

Looking up at the distant floating island, I narrowed my eyes. In YGGDRASIL a super tier spell [Creation] would approximately cost 10% of an average level 100 casters mana pool.

But this time it felt like the mana cost was fourteen times more. So, the conclusion I came to was, while the spells were far more versatile than in the game. Anything that goes beyond once capabilities would have negative results.

Getting up from the ground, I unfurled my three pairs of wings and took to the sky.

Albion once again shifted to his draconic form and joined me in the sky. Within minutes of high speed flying, we arrived above the city. By my estimation the entire island was 6000 meters above the ground, and had a radius of 3746 meters.

It was quite a sight, as thousands of magical lights illuminated the floating city. Every structure looked like a masterpiece of architecture. The artistic beauty it presented couldn't be explained in simple words.

From the roads to the building, everything looked as if it came from a dystopian paradise. The city truly lived up to it's name 'Avalon'. Meaning promised paradise.

And thus the first city of the kingdom of Nazarick was created.

Knock*

Knock*

The sound of knocking pulled me out of my past musings. Getting my permission to enter, Tyuule came inside and kneeled before me. "Your highness, a missive from the Saderan Empire came to our border post a few hours ago".

Intrigued, I asked, "Ohh? What does it say?".

"It seems the Empire had issued a temporary truce, and are proposing for an alliance. They requested us to send an envoy to their capital for further talks".

"Temporary? Not permanent?", I asked baffled at the blatant use of words.

Tyuule's face scrunched in disgust, "What can we even expect from the empire scum. They don't even have the decency of acknowledging us as a full-fledged nation".

I nodded in agreement. The empire seemed to have some deep unknown grudge towards us. Because every two months they would send a sizable force, just to flee the moment we retaliate. "But my question is why now?".

Producing a sheaf of paper, she answered my question, "From the recent report we received from our spies, the empire seems to have taken tremendous losses from their expedition of Alnus hill. Reports say that nearly half of their allied forces have been crippled".

Humming I scratched my chin while thinking. If the situation is as bad as we think it is, then they definitely can't waste their manpower in meaningless squabble.

And if they're really desperate enough to want a truce, then they'll definitely negotiate to become allies against this foreign threat. We just might have a chance to establish actual peace!

Nodding to myself I said, "Be that as it may… having a truce is beneficial to us. No matter how we look at it".

She seems to be dissatisfied with my answer, but still nodded and bowed. "It shall be done. I will send someone right away".

"On that note… reports from all the villages under us, and the fortress city we recently occupied has arrived. I hope it's to your liking", she said waving at the ginormous stack of paper, which I had been trying to avoid since morning.

How does she expect me to do all this paperwork all by myself!? It will take hours, if not days to get through all of that.

I have to get out of here fast. But how… Aha!

"There is no need to send someone to the empire. Since this meeting is far too important, I will go there myself for the negotiations to succeed", I declared.

Immediately Tyuule fell down to her knees pleading, "Your highness, please reconsider your decision! As the leader of our country, it wouldn't be wise to be in the heart of enemy territory".

"Hmm? Do you really have that little trust in me?", I asked knowing what her answer would be.

"Nooo! But…".

"Then it's decided. And it's not about the empire that I'm worried about, but the other force that has occupied Alnus", I said in a serious tone.

"What do you mean my lord?", she asked.

"What happens if this unknown force has a far more superior military might than us? And what if they decide to attack us. Since our territory is the closest to them".

Realization dawned upon her eyes as she bowed once more, "Forgive me my lord. I now understand what you mean. The recent victories we achieved had clouded my judgement".

I nodded. "That's why we need to make sure that the negotiations go smoothly. Like the saying goes, 'Better the devil you know than the devil you don't'".

As I was about to leave, I stopped and looked back at her, "Oh… since I'll be going to the empire, would you please look over those reports. Leave only the most important ones, I'll look over them once I'm back".

She replied enthusiastically, "Of course! I will do my utmost to meet your expectations".

With that, I teleported out of there and appeared in front of the palace gates. As I was leaving the palace grounds, two Cherubim Gatekeepers slammed their halberds as a salute. Giving a nod in acknowledgement, I kept walking.

Within minutes of walking, I reached the main road. As I passed the crowded streets, people stopped and showed respect by bowing. In response, I returned a nod to them.

One of my favorite things to do nowadays, was just roaming the streets of Avalon on foot. So, the people had quickly gotten used to seeing their ruler walking beside them.

While walking, I observed the people around me.

The city was bustling with life, as vendors sold their wares and people bought them. Children played by chasing each other around their parents. A musician was playing a flute attracting a sizable crowd.

The smell of freshly baked goods wafted throughout the street, as bakery's tried calling in customers. On another side a flower shop could be seen, showcasing different types of flowers and plants.

A gaggle of teenage girls were seen crowding a clothing store. I even spotted a few outdoor restaurants and cafes, which I had a hand in implementing.

On a stone podium a dark elf boy could be seen reading aloud a parchment, as people below listened attentively. The boy was a 'spokesman'.

It's a job I implemented. Who's duty was to read aloud the contents of a parchment provided by the central office.

The contents could vary from simple weather reports to announcing the achievements of the kingdom of Nazarick. It also has basic information about the happenings of Falmart. Sometimes even commending citizens who had achieved notable merits.

Implementing this, had the great effect of unifying them into believing that they were part of something bigger. That their efforts helped improve the kingdom.

In short it did the work of a news report. While using newspaper would have been more ideal. But when more than half of the population was illiterate, the idea of a newspaper becomes null.

To counter this lacking we had recently established a school. Where children below the age of sixteen were mandatory to attend. This way, a strong and literate future generation could be nurtured.

'I should visit them sometime. At least the children seem to like it whenever I visit. Wonder how the headmaster is fitting into his role?', I thought of the magician Cato now turned headmaster.

The magician Cato El Altestan and his disciple Lelei La Lalena, primarily came to Avalon in search of magical knowledge. Seeing it as an opportunity, I offered them magic books in exchange for teaching at the newly built school.

Looking up, I saw the occasional flying carts and carriages pushed by pegasuses. It was an oddity only found in Avalon. We even had to implement angel guardians as traffic police, so accidents wouldn't happen.

It was truly building up to be a paradise for all. And every time I see people of different species mingle together, it fills me with pride.

Because how unintentional it might be, I was the reason for them to come and live together. A society all species and races were accepted without discrimination. A perfect utopia. And I had a hand in building it.

Sometimes I think of my friends, what would they think if they saw this city? Would they also feel the pride I feel.

Finally reaching my destination, I casted the [Message] spell.

[My lord? What may this servant of yours do for you?]. The voice of Albion answered me from the other side.

[Umu. I'd like you to accompany me to the empire]. I said.

[Understood. I shall come to your side immediately]. With that the message spell was cancelled.

Within minutes the thunderous beats of the massive dragon could be heard above me.

Without fanfare I unfurled my wings and took flight. Alongside Albion we flew in the direction of the empire's capital.

Saderan Empire

Capital City:

Third persons P.O.V:

"Marcus… has the missive been delivered?", the emperor of the Empire Molt Sol Augustus asked, while sitting on his throne. For all intents and purposes he looked bored, but that was the farthest from the truth.

"Yes, your highness. We expect to receive a reply in a week or two", the bald portly man named Marcus replied bowing.

The emperor let out a sigh of relief under his breath. Recently the situation has gone from bad to worst. So, continuing a fight on two fronts would be foolish. "Has there been any news from the Alnus hill?", he asked praying for some good news.

But it seems it was not to be, "After the absolute destruction of King Durans forces, they have been seen fortifying their camp around the gate".

While the king of Elbe wasn't as loyal to him as other nobles. He was one of the most capable and reliable allies he had.

'How did things come to this?', he thought to himself self-deprecatingly. It was supposed to be an overwhelming victory for the empire. And once the battle was over, all the riches and fame should have been theirs to claim. But fate had other plans.

Now not only were they losing land on two sides, half of their military power was gone. Even the less savory nobles are considering turning coats.

The emperor thought himself as cautious and meticulous, never leaving things to chance. Now, the only way to get a modicum of control would be by having a decisive victory. That way he could keep control of what power he had.

"Your highness, your carriage has been prepared", one of his royal guards informed him.

Acknowledging, he got up, and started walking accompanied by royal guards.

Upon sitting down inside the carriage, the horses started galloping towards the Senate.

As the dirt road rolled by, his mind drifted towards the crux of his problem. The Kingdom of Nazarick. From the day of their inception, problems seems to pile on one after another.

Zorzals little conquest of the bunny warriors resulting in catastrophic failure, and his subsequent madness caused quite the stir throughout the empire.

No matter how many healers were called, the boy seems to have lost all his sanity. Jumping at the slightest of shadows, making him an unsuitable heir.

While Diablo would have made a fine heir. But the boy was far too smart for his own good. Making him unable to be controlled if he ever ascends the throne, unlike Zorzal.

Then there is the rumor going around saying the ruler of Nazarick is a god. Because of that he couldn't even ask for aid from the holy temples for dealing with them.

And no matter how loyal or faithless a noble might be, they would never attack a gods domain. Even if his emperor commanded him to do so.

So whenever someone was forced into attacking the kingdom of Nazarick. They would flee the moment retaliation came.

But now that there's another enemy present, he has to rethink his decisions. If he could negotiate them into becoming allies, then dealing with the enemy at Alnus hill would become a lot easier.

It would be wonderful if he could force them to face each other, and let them destroy themselves. 'One stone with two birds' as the saying goes.

He smiled, "No matter the hurdle. Because in the end I will be the only victor".

As the carriage arrived at the Senate, he disembarked and made his way towards his seat.

The chatter around the Senate stopped upon his arrival. But, just before he could say a word…

Crack*

Crack*

The loud sound of glass cracking took everyone by surprise. "Get someone to find out what happened!", he ordered a servant to investigate.

The crowd of men whispered in hushed voices, as the reason for the sudden commotion was still unknown.

Minutes later the same servant came running back, "SIRE! THE CITY IS-"

BOOOOOMMMM*

A giant fiery explosion impacted the Senate building, causing the structure to collapse above them.

An hour earlier:

P.O.V change:

She hated it.

The mocking stares.

The jeers behind her back.

The backhanded compliments.

She truly hated all of it.

All she ever wanted was to prove her worth as a true knight of the empire. To show that women could also become knights of valor and courage.

But instead of fighting in the front lines, they were kept as mere decoration for the emperor's amusement.

She knew, that the only reason her order of knights was granted approval, was because of her royal lineage. A knight order that was mostly composed of women was unheard of until then.

Yet she hoped. Hoped for a chance to prove her rose orders true potential.

And when, war on the scale that the empire had never seen occurred. She and her knights were merely appointed as honour guards, for the 'True Knights'.

It was humiliating.

"-cess. What do you think?".

Broken out of her trance, she turned towards her friend and knight, panache. "Huh? Can you say it again?"

A look of mild concern flashed through her face as she asked, "Are you all right princess? We were asking for your thoughts, on the kingdom of Nazarick?".

Her lips pursed in contemplation. It's all people talked about these days, of a kingdom that grew up overnight. Yet, it had repelled dozens of empire invasions, without a single loss.

They say that a god lives there, a god of healing and unimaginable power. And with each person the story gets more embellished. The most exaggerated of which is the story of a floating city.

Clearing her face off emotions she replied, "It doesn't matter what I think of them or not. They have marked themselves as the enemy, and have yet to put any effort into rectifying it".

From behind Hamilton jumped in the conversation, "But… princess! The rumors say that the ruler of that kingdom is a divine being, who can even bring the dead to life with a single touch".

"Don't put your beliefs in baseless rumors. Even the gods couldn't revive the dead as they wished", she waved them off.

They continued on their usual patrol outside the Senate, since women were barred from entering.

Crack*

Crack*

All of them drew out their weapons at the sudden loud noise, and started scanning the area.

"Princess! Look there!", her oldest and most experienced knight Grey Co Aldo called, pointing at the sky.

And what we saw, made us gasp in shock. As a purple tear in space opened above the city.

Looking at it, a memory of a report popped up inside her head. It was a year old report about the failed invasion of the bunny warriors. But it clearly said that a purple tear in the sky had opened up, from which the three headed draconic monster had appeared. And from the description, it was eerily similar to what we were seeing.

"Hurry! We have to go evacuate the citizens!", no sooner had she identified the incoming danger, she sprinted towards the stables to retrieve her horse. Her order of knights also followed her soon after.

But they were too late to make it. Because before they could arrive at the location of the purple tear, a skeletal being garbed in blood red robes had already descended. The unholy being floated above the city, as its malignant eyes roamed around it's new surroundings.

A moment later it pointed a single bony finger, as several horse sized fireballs appeared all around it. In a single motion, all the fireballs shot out in different directions. Each of the fireballs impacted with a firey explosion, killing dozens of people and destroying multiple buildings.

Soon, chaos had descended upon the city.

When princess piña and her knights arrived, they were met with a scene right out of a horror story. Many of her knights had emptied their bowels after witnessing such a scene.

The entire street below where the tear appeared, had become a death zone. Hundreds of corpses littered the ground, as the stench of blood and gore spread around. People trampled on each other to run away from the incoming horde of skeletal monsters.

With each person the skeletal horde killed, the bodies of the deceased rose up like an inhumane puppet. And among all this, a single red dot flew in the sky, raining down fireballs as havoc reeked all around the city.

"P-princess… w-what are those?!", her ever calm and composed knight Bozes Co Palesti, now utterly frazzled asked shakily.

Unfortunately she wasn't able to reply, after seeing such a horrific sight. She, the third princess of the empire had lived a sheltered life till now. And so, being faced with such carnage for the first time had left her unable to move.

A hard shove from Grey helped her regain control of her body. "PRINCESS! It's no time to freeze up! What are your orders?".

She tried calming her nerves by taking a deep breath, and gave her orders. "It d-doesn't matter w-what those are. Try helping the citizens to evacuate the area, while holding off the horde as much as possible. Now GO!".

"Yes princess!", they intoned in unison and rode forward.

And for the next few minutes they tried their best to save as many people as they could. The skeletal monsters while relentless, were easily defeated with a few well placed strikes.

Everything was going well, until…

ROOARRRRR*

"Ohh god…"

As a massive roar ripped throughout the city. The reason for this was multiple flying skeletal monstrosities masquerading as dragons. And as luck would have it, one of them had noticed them.

"Princess! We have to get out of here fast!", Beefeater said as the skeletal monstrosity dove towards them.

All of them galloped their horses faster than they ever had. Yet…

ROOARRRRR*

Crash*

Balalaika, Margarita and Norma got crushed under the skeletal dragon as it landed.

"Noooooooo!", she couldn't keep in the scream of despair that left her mouth.

But that wasn't all, as the skeletal dragon chased after them on all fours. All the while destroying everything on its path.

"Hamilton! Take the princess to a safe location, and the rest of you follow me in order to buy them some time", Grey ordered in a stern voice.

Before she could raise her objection, the rest of them had already turned. Marching to their imminent death.

"FOR THE PRINCESS!", Grey shouted while raising his weapon. And soon after was joined by the others, "For the princess!".

She couldn't do anything but watch, as her knights approached the monster. And in a single swipe of its claw, they were dead. Getting themselves ripped apart into chunks of flesh. For a few seconds, so she could flee.

The tears fell unbidden, as she rode even faster. Just so the sacrifices her knights made wouldn't go in vain.

It was all her fault. Only if she never wanted to be a knight. Then they wouldn't have to die for a coward like her. What could a helpless girl like her ever do, in a world filled with such monsters. She should have just died like the others did!

"Princess! Look out!", Hamilton screamed.

But it was too late, as a huge piece of rubble crashed into her horse, instantly killing it.

"Ahhhhhh!", she screamed in agony as one of her legs was caught under the thrown rubble. The leg was utterly broken, as the flesh broke apart and bone shards gouged out.

Hamilton quickly disembarked from her horse, and ran towards her, "Princess! Are you alright?!".

"J-Just run! Go save yourself!", she said through the waves of agony.

"B-but how could I-"

"P-please RUN AWAY!", she pleaded sobbing.

Before she could say any more, one of the monsters from the skeletal horde jumped towards her. But, Hamilton had intercepted and defeated it with a quick blow.

As her knight returned trying to help her, both of them noticed that their escape route was being blocked by the incoming horde of monsters. And as it seems, the skeletal dragon had finally caught up to them. As it rushed towards them at breakneck speed.

Tears dripping from Hamilton's cheeks, her last friend turned towards her. "It was an honor serving you… princess".

She looked at her friend with teary eyes, and embraced her in desperation.

Just before the maw of the beast could close in and snuffing out their lives. A huge sword made out of golden light fell from heaven, bisecting the monster into two.

Shocked, both of them looked up. As a winged figure garbed in gold and white descended from the sky. Three pairs of pure white wings kept him floating in the air.

Immediately the aura of their surroundings changed. It felt warm, as though sitting next to a camp fire on a winter night.

"Hey, are you alright?", the person spoke in a melodic voice. As the sun rays shone down upon him, creating a golden halo around his figure. It was… dazzling.

They couldn't reply as they were far too shell-shocked by the appearance of such a majestic being. For a moment she even forgot about the agonizing pain she was feeling.

"Hmm… before starting, let's take care of that. [Maximize magic: Holy Burst!]", as he said those words, a wave of light spread throughout the area. Turning the incoming monster horde into dust.

Floating down on the ground, the otherworldly being slowly approached them, "Now, would you please introduce yourselves? And tell me what is actually happening here?"

Shakily Hamilton got up, and pointed her sword towards their savior, "Y-you are in the p-presence of h-her Imperial Highness, Princess Pina Co Lada. Identify y-yourself".

The otherworldly being perked up after hearing that and looked at her. "Princess you say? Well, then let me introduce myself. I'm the ruler of the kingdom of Nazarick, Ainz Ooal Gown. So, now would you please explain what's happening?".

It was a baffling experience for her, meeting the rumored king in person. Yet, now that she looks at him closely, he looks so… young. He couldn't be much older than her, but still possesses such a powerful presence.

Ignoring the black spots in her vision she tried answering. "We d-don't know how. B-but monsters s-started appearing from a tear in the s-sky. P-please, help- LOOK OUT!", she warned as a lightning bolt shaped like a dragon dove towards them.

Just as it was about to land on them, it crashed against a golden barrier and moments later fizzled out.

She looked towards the otherworldly king, who was looking at a red floating dot in the sky. And spoke smirking, "Sneaky aren't you? But you should really keep an eye on what's behind you".

As he said those words, a white dragon thrice the size of a flame dragon, spewed out bright blue flames at the red dot.

The flames were so intense that the heat even reached her.

Moments later the red dot crashed a few meters away from them. Letting them identify it as a skeletal monster in dark red robes. But unlike the other monsters, this one looked much more powerful and scarier.

"Well they do say, 'The higher they fly, the harder they fall'", the now named Ainz Ooal Gown said with a chuckle. He raised one of his hands and intoned, "[Triple maximized magic: Holy smite]". Turning the monster into ash killing it instantly, much like the others. "Hmm…? [Locate Enemy]. Like I thought", he said and looked at the flying dragon. "Albion, there's still a few skeletal dragons reeking havoc. Deal with them".

The dragon as if it understood, nodded it's head and flew away. Turning towards them once more, "Would you please take me to your emperor?".

Everything this king said or did exuded power. Power so great and unimaginable one could hardly explain. In front of such power can anyone deny him?

"We can't… the princess's leg, it's severely injured. We have to take her for immediate treatment", Hamilton said worriedly.

"Umm… let me see that", the king said as he approached her. All the while Hamilton kept pointing her sword at him, no matter how useless it might be.

After looking, the divine being raised his hand above her wound and chanted, "[Mild Cure Wounds]. That should do it." No sooner had he uttered those words, a warm sensation spread throughout her entire body.

Following that her wounds started to heal. Bones mended and flesh knitted itself back, just the way it was before. Even the pain she was feeling on her abdomen from the fall faded away.

This… this was miraculous. She has heard that the archbishop of the holy temples could cure mild sickness. But nothing so potent to heal a ruined limb in an instant.

Seeing her getting back on her feet, Hamilton rushed towards her, "Princess!? Your leg! Are you alright?".

Patting her knight on the shoulder, she tried reassuring her, "Its alright. I feel much better now. A bit disoriented. But fine".

Turning, she faced the god. Yes god, for there's no other explanation to the things he demonstrated. Has this merciful god come to aid them in their dire straits? That must be it. For why else would he save them?

Without wasting any time, she fell to her knees praying In front of this god. And soon Hamilton did the same.

She prayed for her knights, for her people, and for everyone's salvation in this time of need.

And while her reverent praying, she could have sworn she heard someone say 'Not again!'.
