Chapter 14 - After the Strom

The rain slowly began to stop.

Lena stood alone on the bridge, her clothes completely soaked.

Her heart was still racing.

Ryan was gone.

The dark river below flowed wildly, as if nothing had happened.

Lena slowly stepped back from the edge.

Her legs felt weak.

Everything had happened so quickly.

Just minutes ago, she thought she would die again.

But now…

The future had changed.

Her phone was silent in her hand.

No more messages came.

The version of her from the future had done everything she could.

And now that future no longer existed.

Lena looked at the dark screen.

"Thank you," she whispered softly.

For the first time, the silence felt peaceful.

The next morning, the city looked completely normal.

People walked through the streets.

Cars moved through traffic.

The world continued as if nothing had changed.

But for Lena, everything felt different.

She sat in the small café where she had first met Ryan.

The same warm smell of coffee filled the air.

But Ryan was no longer there.

And he would never be again.

Lena wrapped her hands around a cup of coffee and looked out the window.

For the first time in days, her mind felt calm.

She had survived.

She had escaped the future that once destroyed her life.

But something strange happened.

Her phone vibrated once.

DING.

Lena frowned.

She quickly picked it up.

There was a message.

But it wasn't from her number.

It was from an unknown number.

Her heart beat a little faster as she opened it.

The message said:

"Are you the girl who survived the bridge?"

Lena's eyes widened.

Her fingers trembled.

How could someone know that?

Before she could even think—

Another message appeared.

"Because I received a message last night…"

Her breathing became uneven.

Then the final message came.

"It said you might need help."

Lena stared at the screen in silence.

For a moment, she thought everything was finally over.

But now she realized something chilling.

The messages…

Hadn't really ended.

Somewhere…

Someone else had received one.

And this time—

The future might be warning her again.
