Chapter 6 - dharma is alive but ...

Seeing Som Khurana in this state, Dev says to him, "Alright, fine, I'm coming with you, but give me a second." He quickly calls the girl over and tells her, "For some reason, I can't go with you right now. Keep this money and reach your home safely."

Som Khurana looks at the girl, and some strange emotions could be seen in his eyes. Who is this girl after all? But this was not the time for such things, so he quickly tells Dev to get into the car, and both of them leave for the hospital.

He quickly leads Dev towards the hospital room. As soon as Dev stands in front of that room, seeing the man visible inside the room, his heart starts beating loudly. Tears come to his eyes, and as soon as he sees that person's condition, his anger knows no bounds.

Inside that room, Dharma Khurana was in a very pitiable state. Opening the glass door, he enters the room and sits down trembling beside his father. He looks at his father, thinking to himself, how did Father get here after all? He says to the doctor standing nearby, "Is he alright?"

The doctor's reply comes, "Whatever external injuries he had, they have been treated. But we discovered that there is a poison inside him that weakens a person internally. However, we have never seen such poison before. In our medical science, this poison is strange. It causes very little harm to the body, yet the patient is not recovering from his injuries." The doctor says, "If this problem of his is not resolved, he will gradually slip into a coma."

Hearing this, Dev becomes scared. He says, "Okay" and then looks towards his father and touches his hands. Just then, Dharma Khurana slowly lifts his eyes. He had opened his eyes feeling someone's touch. He closes his eyes slightly in pain, but seeing his son, his inner strength supports him, and he opens his eyes again and places his hand on his son's hand.

Dev places his other hand on his father's hand and says tearfully, "How did this happen to you?" Hearing this and seeing his son's condition, Dharma Khurana tells him, "Our company had sent 70 people a few days ago to explore some ruins. We thought this would also be like those ordinary ruins we used to visit before. Some ancient script or artifact was to be found. But there was something strange in those ruins. Out of our 70 people who went there, only one person managed to return, and he had whatever map of the ruins those people had explored. However, that person also died in the hospital. Before dying, that person said just one sentence, 'Don't go inside.' Those people had captured me for the map of those ruins obtained from that person."

Saying this, Dharma Khurana starts breathing a little heavily. "When those people caught me, they took me to their base location. When even after much tormenting from them I didn't tell them anything, their boss came forward. He talked to me about a Devil Contract, in which if I told him the location of those ruins, those people would let me go. When I made that contract, I felt from within that if anyone broke the contract, they would be eaten by the Devil. For this reason, I drew a half-finished map of the ruins and gave it to him. But despite this, they fed me a strange kind of lethal medicine. His boss said, 'This isn't actually lethal; from this, you will certainly go into a coma in one day.'"

Dev feels angry, but he doesn't want to show any kind of wrong behavior in front of his father, so he holds his father's hand a little tighter and tells him, "As long as I am alive, no one can do anything to you." His father also squeezes Dev's hand harder, and there is hope in his eyes. Feeling the pressure of his father's hands, Dev celebrates his being okay for now.

Just then, the doctor standing nearby asks the nurse to come, and when the nurse arrives, they begin to examine his father again. Dharma Khurana had now closed his eyes. Dev starts to come out of the room and says to himself, "Devil Contract? What is this after all? But whatever it is, because of this, my father's life has been saved. One day, I will destroy those people with this very Devil Contract."

He comes outside and sees people going here and there, and on a nearby seat, Som Khurana is sitting with his head down, thinking about something. Som Khurana lifts his head, and Dev is standing before him. He says, "Why did you take so long?" Dev says, "Actually, Papa talked to me." Hearing this, Som Khurana is startled. He jumps with joy, as if someone has given him information about his lost friend. He says, "What did he tell you? Nothing too troubling, is there?" "There are some things that are a bit difficult, but Father is okay for now." He says, "Well, at least something is fine, my hope has returned. You rest, I'll take care of all the paperwork here."

Dev goes to the hospital rooftop. Although ordinary people couldn't go there, Dev's case was different; just by looking at his clothes, no one tried to stop him. Coming to the rooftop, he opens the system and calls out to Disha. A system window opens before his eyes. Last time he had only seen the introduction; he hadn't looked at it much. He looks into the system; there are five options, all of which are locked. Disha's voice comes, "Don't worry, when you reach the next level, these options will unlock themselves."

Dev thinks to himself, 'Disha can probably help me understand this system and also answer some of my questions.' He says, "How do I actually do Cultivation? How do I reach the next level so that I can unlock these?" Disha's voice comes, "You cannot do Cultivation in this world. The abundance of divine power in this world is in very small quantities. If you need to do Cultivation, you will have to go to the Cultivation World."

Hearing this from Disha, Dev is a little surprised, but he says to Disha, "Then how do I go to the Cultivation World? Can you send me there? And if that is so, then how are there Cultivators in this world?" Disha says, "Actually, there is no power for Cultivation in this world. The discovery of Teleports in this world happened long ago, but only very wealthy people could afford the cost of building them. This technology is also secret, which is why you haven't known about it until today." Dev says in amazement, "Is that really true?" He says, "How much would it actually cost to build a Teleporter?" Disha's reply is, "28 million dollars, approximately."

Hearing this amount, Dev is stunned. He dismisses the thought of building a Teleporter from his mind, because if the cost is that much, the time required would also be just as much. Dev didn't want to wait that long. He said directly, "Alright then, can you somehow get me to that world?" The system Disha's voice comes, "Yes, of course, why not? But for that, you need to have sufficient System Gold. This Gold is very useful for you. Also, there is a cool-down after each Teleportation."

Dev says, "Then how do I earn System Gold?" Disha's voice comes, "You have to complete the system's quests, i.e., certain tasks. In return, you will be given rewards." Dev says, "Rewards? What are those quests after all?"

Information about the quests starts appearing on the system:

· Find the person who abducted your father - Reward: 10 Gold Coins

· Kidnap that person - Reward: 150 Gold Coins

· Kill that person - Reward: 100 Gold Coins

· Explore the ruins - Reward: 50 Gold Coins

· Steal the Demon Body Art from the ruins - Reward: 10000 Gold Coins

What will happen next? Which path does Dev want to take? To find out, read the next chapter of 'Immortal Warrior of the Mysterious World'.
