The Seven Calamities

A.N: This chapter can be skipped

"There are Seven Kingdoms. But there is only one gate. A gate to Earth, a lower civilization which the bravest of all Aetherians shall conquer and rule. Only he that stands above all can enter this gate, which may open upon the Seventh Calamity."

This is Aetheris.

Ding! Ding!! A giant white bell rung.

"The First Calamity was the discovery of magic, from a glowing purple core at the heart of the Black Mountain. Sir Robert, a cave explorer who found this core, greatly cursed our world. The Great War happened as a result of his actions."

Ding! Ding!!

"The Second Calamity was the Spatial Gate that opened due to the imbalance in Aetheric and Dark Essence between worlds. Monsters invaded our world and destroyed our lands."

Ding! Ding!! The third ring of the bell.

"The Third Calamity was the opening of the Gates of Hell, where Blair, the lord of evil threatened to enter through. However, Arla, the Mother of Life and Daughter of Eve awakened and sealed him away, along with his army of demons."

Ding! Ding!!

"The Fourth Calamity was the rapid growth of the remnant monsters and demons. This initiated the First Divine War in the new age of magic, between Aetherians and Monsters."

Ding! Ding!!

"The Fifth Calamity was the discovery of dark magic, and the birth of the Darkness, who shall be born, or already is in our lands. The Sage of the South says that he is the evil that shall spell doom to our world."

Ding! Ding!!

"For every Cursed Soul on our land, there is a lingering dark to be purged. For infidels and sorcerers, who pollute our lands in their practice of dark magic, there is a greater chance of this ominous prophecy manifesting upon us. We, Sons of Arla, and Soldiers of the Holy Legion shall never falter in our quest to rid this world of evil. We shall not let the Sixth, nor the Seventh Calamity come to pass!"

At those words, everyone of the Holy Knights gathered knelt on one knee, and crossed their right hands over their chests to grab their shoulderpads. The sound of everyone going on their knees was just like that of an army stomping their feet in advance.

Here, in the White Temple, seated right at the top of the Black Mountain, there were countless Knights, cladded in their armours of glittering white.

If only one knew of the evil lurking deep in their hearts.
