Chapter 56 - Two Against One.

At least, that was the last impression she'd left. Fear. Danger. A maniacal girl who had just torn a building in half by using her own cousin's back for the impact.

And for a moment, nobody moved.

Then Zael did.

I wouldn't exactly call what he did a vanishing technique. In that split second, I could still register a blurred image of him crossing the distance from the building toward Freya, it was just barely, like a frame of film caught mid-tear.

He threw his hands out and shoved her by the shoulder, which, combined with an insane amount of speed, made it look like she'd been launched from a slingshot.

Freya crashed into a building on the opposite side of the road, burying into it with even more force than her own attack had carried.

Zael straightened up and casually dusted off his jacket, like someone who actually cared whether it got dirty or not. He looked toward the rubble and sighed.
