Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Milky Way Galaxy. Planet Earth, June 16th 2027.

The wind was gentle that evening.

It carried the faint scent of pine through the mountain air, rustling the leaves and stirring the tall grass that grew along the ridge. The sky above was painted in shades of orange and violet as the sun slowly descended, its final light stretching across the horizon like a farewell.

Ye Shen stood alone near the cliffside.

From a distance, he looked like any other university student—tall, slim, with long black hair tied loosely behind his head. His face was pale and calm, his expression gentle enough that most people who saw him would instinctively lower their guard.

And that was exactly how he preferred it. His hands, however, told a different story.

They were steady… but clenched slightly. Not from fear, rather from anticipation.

At his feet lay a small arrangement of flowers. Nothing expensive, nothing extravagant. Just simple white Chrysanthemums he had carefully arranged himself. Next to them sat a small folded note, its edges slightly worn from being rewritten several times.

He had never been good with words. Atleast, not when they mattered.

Ye Shen exhaled slowly, "You've faced worse things than this," he thought.

His eyes drifted toward the horizon, but what he saw wasn't the sunset.

He saw fire, Screams and blood on cold marble floors.

A mansion that once stood proud, reduced to ashes. His family. Eradicated.

He had been three years old. Too young to understand why.

But old enough to remember everything.

Most people assumed trauma like that either broke someone… or hardened them.

Ye Shen had done something else. He adapted.

Outwardly, he became someone easy to like. Quiet. Polite. Reliable. The kind of person teachers trusted and classmates forgot about the moment he left the room.

But on the inside?

Inside he watched everything. Calculated everything. Trusted almost no one.

Except her.

A small smile touched his lips. "She's late," he murmured. He wasn't annoyed.

Li Yue had always been like that. Always doing things at her own pace, yet amicable and caring towards everyone.

Unlike him.

She was sunlight.

He was something that existed in the shadows of it.

His fingers brushed the pendant hanging from his neck.

A deep violet crystal, smooth and cold against his skin.

He had worn it for as long as he could remember.

No one knew where it came from. Not even the Li family who had raised him. It had simply been with him when he was found after the destruction of his clan.

For years it had been nothing more than an ornament.

Lately… it had begun to feel warm.

Sometimes it vibrated faintly, like something breathing beneath the surface.

Tonight it felt different. Alive.

Ye Shen frowned slightly, "Strange…"

Suddenly, the air changed. At first it was subtle. Like pressure before a storm. The wind stopped.

The sounds of insects vanished. Even the trees seemed to hold their breath.

Ye Shen's eyes sharpened. His gentle expression didn't change.

But inside, his thoughts accelerated instantly, "Something's wrong."

He looked towards the forest. A few seconds passed.

Not the one who he was looking for. Five figures stepped out from between the trees.

Black suits.

Cold eyes.

The kind of posture that said they weren't ordinary people.

Ye Shen recognized the emblem on one of their sleeves: Murong. One of the Five Great Families.

His heartbeat didn't change and his breathing remained steady.

Only one thought surfaced, "So they finally moved."

The lead man stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over Ye Shen before settling on the pendant.

His pupils shrank. "Interesting…" the man said softly.

Ye Shen gave a polite nod, "Good evening," he said calmly. "Are you lost?"

The man didn't answer.Instead he asked, "Where did you get that necklace?"

Ye Shen tilted his head slightly, as if confused. "I've had it since I was a child."

The man's eyes narrowed. The air around him seemed heavier somehow.

"Give it to me," he ordered.

Ye Shen smiled faintly. He replied, "Sorry, I don't take orders from random nobodies."

Silence fell.

Then one of the other Murong members spoke quietly, "Elder… the fluctuation is increasing."

Exactly at that moment—The pendant burned.

Not painfully but intensely.

Like a heartbeat suddenly syncing with something vast and ancient.

Ye Shen felt it clearly. Something was changing. Not just here but everywhere.

The man in front of him stepped closer. "You don't understand what's in your hands."

Ye Shen's gaze remained calm. He said "No, but I understand what you're trying to do."

The man's expression hardened, "Do it."

Two of them moved instantly. Fast.

Too fast for normal humans.

Ye Shen moved too.

Not to fight. To step back. To put distance between them and something behind him.

The flowers. The note. They didn't notice. But he did. Always.

One of them grabbed his arm. He had a strong grip, trained.

Ye Shen looked down at the hand calmly.

Then back up. "If you wanted a conversation," he said quietly, "you should have asked nicely."

The elder's patience ended, "Kill him."

Without hesitation or warning.

A suppressed gunshot cracked through the silence.

Pain exploded through Ye Shen's chest and for a split second his body swayed.

Blood spread across his shirt. The world became distant as he fell to the ground with a thud.

But his mind remained clear. "So this is how it ends, but why now?"

Anger seeped through his bones. However, his thoughts were strangely quiet.

He looked past them toward the path and saw her running towards him. Finally emotion appeared on his face.

"Ye Shen!" Her voice broke, filled with fear and desperation.

Li Yue stumbled into the clearing, her normally gentle and beautiful face filled with panic, her bright eyes trembling as they searched for him.

He tried to speak, "Yue..."Cough. Blood filled his throat. He knew his time and energy was limited.

Suddenly his hand moved instead towards the necklace.

The Murong elder noticed and exclaimed "Stop him!"

It was too late. Ye Shen understood one thing clearly: they wanted… this.

So he made his decision instantly. His fingers tightened around the crystal.

His thoughts were calm. "If I die… I'll make sure you get nothing."

He shattered the pendant and drove it into his own chest wound.

Light erupted. Not bright. Not warm yet endless.

For a fraction of a second everyone saw it.

Stars being born. Galaxies collapsing. Chaos swirling in silent eternity.

Then— His body disintegrated in thin air. Not burned. Not destroyed.

Simply… gone from existence.

As if the world itself had taken him back. Silence fell again.

Li Yue reached the clearing seconds later. Too late.

Her eyes searched wildly. "Ye Shen?"

No answer.

Only blood, torn earth and the faint smell of iron.

Then she saw the flowers, her favourite ones. And the note.

Her hands trembled as she opened it. The ground started creaking.

The Murong elder spoke behind her, "This fluctuation..."

She didn't hear him. Her eyes moved across the paper.

Simple handwriting. Slightly uneven. Careful.

"Li Yue, I don't know how to say this properly. But I wanted to try at least once. If the world ever becomes dangerous… I wanted to be someone strong enough to protect you. So… would you—"

The rest was stained with blood.

Her fingers tightened. Her breathing changed.

Snap. Something inside her broke. And something else awakened.

The sky darkened, clouds twisted and the air became heavy.

The Murong elder's eyes widened.

"Impossible—"

Pressure descended. Not from her, from the world.

The ground trembled and the wind screamed. An invisible force crushed downward.

One Murong member collapsed instantly. Bones cracking, blood splattering everywhere.

Another tried to run yet his legs failed. One by one, they smashed into the ground like mosquitos.

Li Yue stood in the center of it all and tears fell silently.

Her eyes glowed faintly, not with anger. With loss.

The Murong elder struggled to remain standing.

"This… this is origin recognition…"

His voice shook,"She really is…"

The pressure increased and he exploded. The world had made its choice.

And the Murong family had chosen the wrong side. Blood flowed silently surrounding Li Yue, worshipping her.

Far away…

Beyond sight, far from the regular stars seen from home.

In a place where time itself seemed slower—a child opened his eyes.

Silence surrounded him. Jade walls. Ancient hierogliphic symbols.

A faint glow in the air.

The child did not cry nor move.

Only looked upward. His eyes were calm, too calm.

Like someone with maturity. Suddenly, fragments of memory crushed his mind.

He saw his life flash before his eyes. He watched the family courtyards be set aflame while hiding in the forest.

Simple but lonely days at the Li family, searching for answers. Boring school life filled with nothing but thoughts about revenge.

Then, it hit him. A mountain, the confession.

Then pain in the chest.

A blinding Light filled with scenes undescribable. And few lines of illogical words.

His small hand lifted slowly. He could feel something inside him.

Something vast and ancient.

Not meant for this world.

A faint smile appeared on his lips. Not happy or sad but grateful for a second chance.

"So… I am still alive."

Outside, footsteps approached. Voices approached in a language unrecognizable yet he somehow understood.

But his attention was elsewhere, inside himself.

Toward the swirling darkness hidden deep within his soul.

Chaos.

For the first time since his rebirth— Ye Shen closed his eyes willingly.

His thoughts were steady, focused and unshaken

"I will return. And this time... I won't be powerless."

The air around him shifted slightly. Almost imperceptibly. A faint resonance.

Not with the energy of the world—but with something far above it.

And far far away…

On a small blue planet beginning to awaken—a girl looked toward the sky.

As if searching for someone who was no longer there.
