Chapter 4 - Can it?

"Hi, Dante," the skinny child said. Well, I guess you are already hooked on the first three chapters, so now I can continue, but don't be mistaken. Dante looked around and saw nothing but a white background with a dark fog about to surround the white. Dante was floating around and saw the child disappear. "This is a dream, isn't it?" Dante asked. He was floating and saw a bright light as it shone on Dante, looking around to see his hometown. Dante saw his child happy and free, dancing with his father, the devil himself. "I was meant not to even feel emotion, but he raised me to experience them anyway," Dante said with black bags surrounding his face. He saw the Royal soldiers tasked to assassinate the devil. He saw how every soldier pierced through the devil's skin. He was in human form, so he could experience human pain. He saw the devil, bruised and at last moment, with his eyes bleeding and his forehead bleeding like crazy. "Hey, Dante, make sure you get strong," the devil said. Little Dante walked towards the devil's body and gave him the last hug, and the funny thing was that, for the first time ever, he experienced heartbreak and grief. "It's funny how I still remember this day like yesterday. I had the urge to train. When I was ten, I bought my first house with my guardian. It was a farmhouse. I found a secret room a day later, and it was stuffed with books by the previous owner. It was a secret library, and I began studying magic. People think I have the same powers as my father, but I'm just like everybody. Why can't people realize that? It pisses me off so much to think people are so disgusting," Dante said to the child. "Why are you acting like that? Because there are people who see you for you. Ashra. You like her, right?" the child said. Dante nodded but wasn't excited by the idea. "I like her; I even want to confess to her, but I want to kill her father for revenge because he raided the village and killed my guardian," Dante said. "Besides, I'm ugly on the inside. No one would want to date a disgusting bug like me. I don't even know why she's my friend. She should leave me, or I will be hurt," he continued. The fog began taking over the white. Then a version of himself popped up, an energetic and playful version, but covered in black. "My facade. It made me keep going with wanting to be friends with her." Dante took the cigarette, which was full of white but red too. He took a drag before seeing Ashra, covered in pink and red, with a hint of blue on her lips. He smiled but saw that only her lips were visible. Her eyes aren't visible but are covered in black. The child looked over and gave a faint grin. "You're an idiot. What makes you think that distancing yourself can protect her? He looked at himself and saw that he was fading away but saw black about to take over him.

Dante woke up and quickly rushed to the bathroom and vomited, like his guts were the follow-up. He walked to school and saw Ashra. She tied her hair in a bun, and all he could think of was confessing, but he would be hurting her by doing that, but that's what he was thinking. All he did was smile and tease her. On the other hand, a female was watching over. The female walked up to them and patted them both on their backs. "Sup, lovebirds," the female said. "We're not like that. Oh, you never introduce yourself to him. Dante, this is Monika. She's my distant cousin. Now that I think about it, come and visit the palace," Ashra said. "For some reason, I have a fetish for royals now," Dante said, teasing them. "Sorry, not my type, but damn man, you're hot. Ashra, I see the vision, you and him. He's gorgeous, and you're uglier than an ogre," Monika said. "Also, if you tell anyone from school that you saw us alone, I'll kill you (smiling, cute, chibi, yeah, she's a demon). Make sure your mouth doesn't yap too much," Ashra said. Monika, Ashra's distant cousin, a prodigy in the family. She has a dream of becoming a warrior. She trains in swordsmanship and dark magic. The child, covered in green, in Dante's mind smiled. "You're making a new friend even though you don't see it. This is a good first step to finally breaking the curse," the child said. Dante smiled and saw Ashra, fully covered in white and pink. "Also, thanks for saving me. If it wasn't for you, I would've been dead," Ashra said, smiling warmly. Dante looked at her, stunned, as he felt appreciation for the first time. Usually, people would spit at him or get scared that he saved them. Looking back, he shed a tear. For the first time, he could use tears for a happy moment. He quickly rubbed his tears before anyone noticed. He felt the black fog cooling off, luckily. He was happy, but he didn't want Ashra to have feelings for him; even regardless of how adorable she was, she would end up getting hurt. He stared at the sun as he did as a child and looked at Monika for a while. "What's wrong with E-cup girls?" she said with a teasing smile. "Actually, yeah, but I prefer she has a nice ass too if she has a nice chest," Dante said without emotion. "You pervert, I'm sure red panties are your preference," Monika said. Dante nodded and said the weirdest thing: "I'll give you some red panties if you give me three hundred bucks for my electricity bills." Ashra was flustered and surprised by this Dante she was speaking to. Monika paid Dante, and she put the panties in her bag. "Where did you find the panties anywhere?" Monika asked. "Gym room when I was scraping up some extra cash," Dante said. 'For sure, Ashra will only see me as a friend. By me seeing my perverted self, aside from the panties I stole, everything is going good, and I feel better from the embarrassment by her resenting me,' the dumbass thought.
