Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The First Shadow

The temperature dropped suddenly. Sajib's breathing grew heavy.

"Rupa… do you see someone behind me?"

Slowly, she turned.

A shadow stood against the wall.

Human-shaped… but incomplete.

Where eyes should be—only darkness.

The shadow moved.

It whispered—

"The names have been read… now the debt must be paid…"

Sajib grabbed Rupa's hand.

"Run!"

They rushed to the door—but it was gone.

Only a solid wall remained.

The shadow crept closer.

A thought struck Rupa—

the diary's final warning.

She screamed—

"It gains power when names are spoken!"

She hurled the diary at the shadow.

A violent sound echoed.

The house shook.

The shadow screamed and vanished.

The door reappeared.

They stumbled outside, gasping for breath.

But Rupa knew—

it wasn't over.

New words appeared on the diary's page—

"The call will return on the next full moon."
