Chapter 1 - The Night Everything Changed

Rain poured over the glittering city like silver needles piercing the darkness. Neon lights reflected on the wet streets as people hurried under umbrellas, trying to escape the storm.

Inside the luxurious Velvet Crown Club, the music thundered while the wealthy and dangerous mingled under crystal chandeliers.

Lena Rossi wiped a glass behind the bar, trying to ignore the loud laughter of the elite guests. She had worked here for six months, and in those months she had learned one important rule.

Never attract attention.

Especially not his attention.

The club doors suddenly opened.

The music seemed to soften as a tall figure entered.

Every guard straightened.

Every woman turned.

Dante Moretti.

The most feared mafia king in the city.

He walked with calm authority, his black suit perfectly tailored, his dark eyes cold and unreadable. Rumors said he controlled half the underground world—arms, money, power.

And nobody crossed him twice.

Lena kept her head down.

She prayed he wouldn't come to the bar.

But fate had other plans.

His deep voice cut through the noise.

"Whiskey."

Lena looked up.

Their eyes met.

For a moment, the world seemed to freeze.

His gaze lingered on her longer than necessary, studying her as if she were a puzzle.

She quickly poured the drink.

"Here."

He didn't touch the glass.

Instead, he asked softly, "What's your name?"

"Lena."

A faint smile touched his lips.

"Lena… beautiful name."

Her heart began to race.

This was dangerous.

She knew it.

Everyone knew that being noticed by Dante Moretti meant your life would never be the same again.

But she didn't know just how true that would become.
