"But circumstances have shifted considerably," Henry continued.
Draco asked, "How have they changed?"
"The new Muggle-born wizards entering our world now," Henry explained slowly, "can regard the wizarding world with respect and as equals, rather than viewing it from below as they once did."
He glanced toward the window, where the Black Lake reflected the evening light.
"They've grown up watching television, listening to radios, and attending cinema screenings. They understand that the world is vast and contains countless phenomena beyond their comprehension. Magic doesn't make them feel inferior, they find it interesting, certainly, but not overwhelming."
He turned back to face them directly. "Do you understand what this means?"
The three fell silent, clearly recognizing that his words carried significant implications for their worldview.
"It means the Muggle world is no longer something the wizarding world can simply dismiss and look down upon," Henry explained. "A century ago, Muggles traveled in horse-drawn carriages and illuminated their homes with kerosene lamps. Now they possess automobiles, telephones, televisions, and airplanes. What will they develop in the coming decades? I cannot predict with certainty. But I know their pace of advancement far exceeds that of the wizarding world."
He studied each of them carefully. "And you, heirs to pure-blood families, how much actual knowledge do you possess regarding the Muggle world?"
"Muggle technology advances at breathtaking speed," Henry continued. "The gap between their capabilities and ours continues narrowing. They can launch weapons across thousands of kilometers, destroy entire cities without ever being present, simply by pressing a button from a distance."
Draco's mouth opened, but no words emerged.
Pansy lowered her head, her expression suggesting deep internal processing. Daphne's gaze also dropped, her shoulders visibly tensing beneath her robes.
Henry allowed them silence, understanding the profound shock his revelations would inflict on three children raised within pure-blood family traditions.
From childhood, they had absorbed the teaching that pure-bloods were inherently superior and Muggles inherently inferior. Muggles lacked magic, therefore they were weak; wizards possessed magic, therefore they were powerful. This logic had been presented as absolute truth, never questioned or challenged.
But now Henry was telling them: Muggles had weapons capable of destroying entire cities with single strikes. Muggles possessed aircraft that crossed oceans in hours. Muggles had satellites orbiting Earth, observing what wizards could never see from the ground.
The distinction between strength and weakness had never seemed so devastatingly clear.
After a prolonged silence, Draco finally spoke, his voice strained. "Your Highness, what you're describing, these Trident missiles, they're truly that destructive?"
"Do you believe I would deceive you?" Henry replied.
"No," Draco shook his head, his voice barely audible. "I simply... cannot process it."
Henry set down his teacup with deliberate care. "Draco, are you familiar with nuclear weapons?"
Draco shook his head.
"They are bombs," Henry said plainly. "A single one can devastate an entire city, not merely a few streets, but the entire metropolitan area. Just one could transform London into rubble, uninhabitable and barren for decades afterward."
"This technology was developed over forty years ago," he continued. "The United States deployed such weapons against two Japanese cities, causing catastrophic destruction. The contamination from that detonation persists to this day in Hiroshima and Nagasaki."
Draco's already pale complexion turned ashen.
Pansy whispered urgently beside him. "Then... what of wizards? Surely Headmaster Dumbledore is extraordinarily powerful?"
"Headmaster Dumbledore is indeed very powerful," Henry acknowledged slowly. "He can defeat numerous dark wizards single-handedly, but can he instantaneously obliterate an entire city?"
Pansy had no response.
"Furthermore," Henry pressed on, "Headmaster Dumbledore will eventually succumb to age, but nuclear weapons will not. They can be manufactured continuously and deployed endlessly. An ordinary Muggle, someone with no magical capability whatsoever, can accomplish what hundreds of wizards cannot."
He paused, allowing his gaze to sweep across all three. "Now do you comprehend why I cautioned against underestimating the Muggle world?"
The three remained silent for several moments before Draco suddenly looked up, his expression intense.
"Your Highness," he said carefully, "if a wizard were to infiltrate the Muggle leadership..."
"Precisely," Henry nodded, acknowledging the logical direction of Draco's thoughts. "A powerful wizard could control Muggle leaders or sabotage their weapons. That sounds feasible, doesn't it?"
Draco nodded cautiously.
Henry smiled with subtle amusement. "Then consider this question: who would undertake such a task?"
Draco appeared momentarily disoriented. "Obviously... a powerful wizard."
"How many powerful wizards?" Henry pressed. "Would Headmaster Dumbledore volunteer? What possible motivation would he have? Would the Dark Lord attempt it? Perhaps he would wish to, but his own position remains uncertain. Would Fudge make the effort? Do you genuinely believe he possesses the capability?"
Draco opened his mouth but found himself unable to formulate a response.
"Even assuming a powerful wizard were willing to undertake this mission," Henry continued, "what would he accomplish once there? Control all Muggle leadership? How many security personnel would surround such figures? Wouldn't someone eventually notice something was wrong with him? And even if he successfully manipulated the leadership, could he control the entire government? The military? The individuals literally controlling the weapons?"
He let the questions hang unanswered. "No matter how powerful a wizard might be, he occupies only one physical location. But Muggle weapons are distributed across the entire globe, beyond any single person's reach or control."
The group remained completely silent.
"But that's not even the most serious complication," Henry resumed. "Consider this: do Muggle-born wizards consider themselves aligned with wizards or with Muggles?"
"Obviously with wizards!" Pansy said sharply, her brow furrowing. "Why would they identify as Muggles after learning they're wizards?"
"Why wouldn't they?" Henry smiled gently. "Let me pose a question in return, how would you feel if someone called you a 'Mudblood'?"
Pansy's face flushed deeply red.
"That's... that's..."
"That's a profound insult," Henry finished for her. "It conveys the message that the person doesn't deserve to learn magic, doesn't deserve to stand alongside true wizards, is fundamentally inferior by their very nature."
He met the gaze of each of them in turn. "You've heard such terminology throughout your lives, so perhaps you don't truly comprehend its weight. But for Muggle-born children, every instance of hearing that word cuts deeply. Every time they're excluded and ostracized, it reinforces the painful reminder, they are not welcome here, they are outsiders."
His tone became more intense. "What choice do you think they'll ultimately make? Will they continue enduring insults, exclusion, and treatment as inferiors? Or will they return to the world that accepted them from birth, loved them unconditionally, and never labeled them with slurs?"
He paused before delivering his conclusion. "They'll choose the Muggle side. Not because they lack appreciation for magic, but because the wizarding world has given them no compelling reason to remain."
Daphne suddenly looked up, her eyes visibly glistening with unshed tears.
"Your Highness," she whispered, her voice trembling, "what can we do to change this?"
