Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – The Woman Behind the Letter

Far away in Hyderabad lived a mysterious woman named Sita Mahalakshmi.

She was graceful, intelligent, and carried a quiet sadness in her eyes.

But Sita Mahalakshmi was not who people believed she was.

Her real name was Princess Noor Jahan, a member of a powerful royal family connected to Pakistan.

Because of political tensions between the two countries, her identity had to remain secret.

Living under the name Sita Mahalakshmi allowed her to move freely without attracting attention.

One evening she listened to the radio broadcast where Ram spoke.

His voice was calm and sincere.

When he said he had no family, something inside her heart moved.

She thought:

"How can someone so kind be alone in this world?"

Without thinking too much, she wrote him a letter.

But she didn't want it to sound like a stranger's message.

So she wrote playfully:

"Your wife Sita Mahalakshmi is writing to you."

She never expected the letter to change her life.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

Until one afternoon she received a reply.

A letter from Ram.

Her hands trembled as she opened it.

"Dear Sita Mahalakshmi…

I don't remember marrying you, but your letter made me smile.

If you truly are my wife, then I suppose I should meet you."

Sita laughed softly.

For the first time in many years, she felt happiness.

And somewhere far away in Kashmir, Ram also smiled while imagining the mysterious woman who claimed to be his wife
