Chapter 2 - Prologue- The Last Warning

The city never slept.

Neon lights flickered above the crowded streets while car horns echoed between towering buildings. Somewhere in the distance, sirens wailed like restless ghosts.

Archer Blake stood inside his small apartment, staring at the wall beside his desk.

Pinned neatly to it was a large Emergency Contact Poster.

A clean, minimalist layout.

Clear sections.

Big bold numbers.

Police.

Fire Department.

Ambulance.

Poison Control.

Disaster Hotline.

He designed it himself.

Not because it was trendy.

But because most people were never ready when disaster struck.

Archer ran a small online shop selling printable emergency posters for homes, offices, and families. Most people who saw them thought they were simple decorations.

But Archer knew better.

When panic comes…

people forget everything.

Phones die.

Internet disappears.

Minds freeze.

And in those moments—

A wall poster can save lives.

He glanced at the screen of his laptop where an order notification appeared.

"Bundle Purchase – Emergency Wall Posters."

Archer smiled slightly.

"Good… at least someone understands preparedness."

Outside, thunder rolled.

The weather forecast had warned about heavy storms tonight.

But storms were normal.

Emergencies were normal.

That was exactly why his posters existed.

He stretched and walked to the kitchen.

Then—

The lights flickered.

Once.

Twice.

Then everything went dark.

A loud explosion echoed somewhere outside the building.

Archer frowned.

"What the…?"

From the hallway, people started shouting.

A woman screamed.

Smoke slowly began seeping through the bottom of his door.

Fire.

Archer's eyes sharpened.

Without panic, he turned toward the wall.

His own Emergency Poster stared back at him.

Bold letters.

FIRE – CALL IMMEDIATELY

EVACUATE – DO NOT USE ELEVATOR

EMERGENCY EXIT MAP.

He grabbed his phone and dialed the number listed on the poster.

But before the call connected—

Another explosion shook the building.

The ceiling cracked.

Flames burst through the hallway.

People were running. Crying. Pounding on doors.

Archer tried to reach the stairwell—

But a collapsing beam blocked the exit.

Smoke filled his lungs.

The world blurred.

He coughed and leaned against the wall… right beneath the emergency poster he created.

His vision dimmed.

Strange.

He had spent his whole life preparing people for disasters…

Yet his own disaster had come so suddenly.

His last thought was simple.

If only people prepared earlier…

Darkness swallowed him.

Then—

A voice echoed inside the void.

"Survival Instinct Detected."

"Emergency Preparedness Level:

Maximum."

"System Activation Approved."

"Reincarnation Protocol Starting."

Archer's consciousness trembled.

Wind roared.

Stars shattered.

And when he opened his eyes again—

He was no longer in his apartment.

He was lying in the mud of a starving village surrounded by mountains and monsters.

And a glowing screen floated before him.

SURVIVAL SYSTEM ACTIVATED

Mission 1:(Teach this world how to survive disasters)

You have been selected as Civilization Survival Catalyst.

Archer laughed quietly.

"Let me guess."

"You want me to teach them emergency preparedness."

The system answered instantly.

Correct.

Archer sighed.

"That sounds like a lot of work."

The screen flickered again.

Then a new message appeared.

WARNING

System cooperation is MANDATORY.

Archer's smile disappeared.

"Mandatory?"

Penalty Protocol Activated.

Host life is now linked to system mission success.

Failure to comply will result in punishment.

A sharp pain suddenly exploded inside Archer's chest.

He collapsed to the ground, gasping.

The pain vanished as quickly as it appeared.

"Example Demonstration Complete"

Archer glared at the floating panel.

"You just attacked me."

Correction.

System executed Motivational Compliance Signal.

Archer stood slowly.

"So if I refuse your missions…"

Penalty Options Include

• Nervous system shock

Silence filled the air.

Archer stared at the screen.

"…You're serious."

Affirmative.

Archer rubbed his temples.

"So I'm basically your employee."

Correction.

Archer sighed.

"Same thing."

The system suddenly changed again.
