Chapter 4 - THE CELESTIAL GUARDIAN Chapter 4 – Training with the Ancient Sage

The sun had barely risen when Arjun, Ravi, and Arjun's grandmother began their journey toward the Himalayan mountains.

Devgarh slowly disappeared behind them as the small jeep climbed higher along the winding mountain roads. Tall pine trees surrounded the narrow path, and cold wind rushed through the open windows.

Arjun looked out at the endless mountains.

His life had changed in less than two days.

Two days ago he was just an ordinary boy worrying about exams and cricket matches.

Now he had fought shadow demons and discovered he possessed ancient cosmic powers.

He still wasn't sure if he felt excited… or terrified.

Ravi leaned back in the seat beside him.

"You know," Ravi said, "if someone told me last week that we'd be driving to meet a mystical mountain master because you're a cosmic superhero… I would have laughed for three hours."

Arjun sighed.

"I'm still trying to process it myself."

His grandmother, sitting in the front seat, spoke calmly.

"The man we are going to meet has been waiting for you for many years."

Arjun frowned.

"Waiting for me? How?"

She simply replied,

"He has always known the next Guardian would come."

The Hidden Temple

After several hours of driving, the jeep stopped near a narrow mountain trail.

Beyond the trail stood a steep staircase carved directly into the rock of the mountain.

Hundreds of steps led upward into the mist.

Ravi stared at it.

"You're telling me the ancient master couldn't install an elevator?"

Arjun laughed quietly.

"I think mystical mountain temples don't usually come with modern facilities."

They began climbing the long staircase.

The higher they climbed, the colder the air became.

Clouds drifted across the mountain slopes, hiding and revealing ancient stone statues placed along the path.

Each statue depicted a warrior holding a glowing sun symbol.

Arjun noticed the symbol looked exactly like the one on his amulet.

"Grandma… these statues…"

"Yes," she said softly.

"They are the Guardians of the past."

Arjun felt a strange sense of connection as he passed each statue.

Almost like the warriors were silently watching him.

After what felt like an hour of climbing, they finally reached the top.

And there it was.

A massive ancient temple built into the side of the mountain.

The structure looked thousands of years old, yet it stood strong against the harsh mountain winds.

Golden carvings of celestial symbols decorated the stone walls.

A long bell hung at the entrance.

Arjun slowly rang it.

The deep sound echoed across the mountains.

BOOOOOOONG.

For several seconds nothing happened.

Then the giant temple doors slowly opened.

The Ancient Sage

Inside the temple stood a tall elderly man wearing simple white robes.

His long silver hair flowed down his shoulders, and his eyes were calm but powerful.

Even without speaking, his presence felt overwhelming.

Ravi whispered to Arjun,

"Yep… definitely a mystical mountain master."

The old man looked directly at Arjun.

A small smile appeared on his face.

"So… the Celestial Guardian has finally arrived."

Arjun stepped forward nervously.

"You were expecting me?"

The sage nodded.

"For eighteen years."

Ravi blinked.

"Wait… he knew you before you were born?"

The sage chuckled softly.

"The universe leaves signs for those who know how to read them."

Arjun's grandmother bowed respectfully.

"Master Rishi Vayun, I bring you the chosen Guardian."

Ravi whispered again,

"Okay that name sounds extremely powerful."

The sage approached Arjun slowly.

His eyes studied him carefully.

"Hmm."

He touched the glowing amulet around Arjun's neck.

"The Surya Astra Seal has chosen well."

Arjun hesitated.

"But I can't control the power."

"Yes," the sage replied calmly.

"That is why you are here."

The First Lesson

The sage led them into a large training courtyard behind the temple.

The courtyard overlooked a massive valley surrounded by snow-covered mountains.

Cold wind rushed through the open space.

The sage stood in the center.

"Arjun," he said.

"Show me your power."

Arjun looked uncertain.

"I only know how to do it accidentally."

"Then try accidentally."

Ravi crossed his arms.

"This should be interesting."

Arjun took a deep breath.

He focused on the energy inside his body.

The same strange warmth he had felt during the battle with the Shadow Demons.

Slowly—

Blue sparks began forming around his hands.

The air vibrated.

The ground beneath his feet trembled slightly.

Arjun raised his palm.

A small beam of celestial energy shot forward.

BOOM.

It hit a stone pillar and cracked it.

Ravi's eyes widened.

"Okay that's still awesome."

But the sage shook his head.

"That is not control."

He pointed toward a large boulder on the other side of the courtyard.

"Destroy that."

Arjun nodded.

He gathered energy again.

This time he focused harder.

The glow around his body grew brighter.

He thrust his hand forward.

A massive blast of energy shot toward the boulder.

BOOOOOOM!

The explosion shattered the rock into hundreds of pieces.

Dust filled the courtyard.

Arjun smiled proudly.

"See? I can do it."

But the sage looked unimpressed.

"Look behind you."

Arjun turned.

A large crack had formed across the temple wall.

His blast had nearly damaged the ancient structure.

Arjun's smile disappeared.

"Oops."

The sage sighed.

"Power without precision is just destruction."

The Real Training Begins

The sage walked toward the center of the courtyard again.

"The Celestial Guardian does not simply throw energy blasts."

He raised his hand.

Suddenly—

Golden light formed around his palm.

Then it transformed into a glowing spear made entirely of energy.

Ravi's jaw dropped.

"Whoa."

The sage flicked his wrist.

The spear shot across the courtyard.

It hit a tiny stone target the size of a coin.

Perfect accuracy.

Arjun stared in shock.

"How did you do that?"

The sage replied,

"Because I control the energy… instead of letting the energy control me."

He looked directly at Arjun.

"And now you will learn the same."

Arjun nodded seriously.

"I'm ready."

The sage pointed toward the mountains.

"Your first lesson is simple."

"Climb."

Arjun blinked.

"Climb?"

"Yes."

Ravi groaned.

"I knew it."

The sage continued.

"You must strengthen your body before mastering celestial power."

He handed Arjun a heavy metal staff.

"Carry this with you."

Arjun lifted it.

It was much heavier than it looked.

"How long do I climb?"

The sage smiled calmly.

"Until sunset."

Ravi leaned toward Arjun.

"Good luck, superhero."

Meanwhile… The Darkness Grows

Far away in Rakshor's fortress…

The dark lord stood beside a massive pit of swirling shadows.

Three enormous monsters slowly emerged from the darkness.

Their bodies were covered in black armor-like skin.

Their glowing eyes burned with hunger.

Rakshor smiled.

"The Shadow Demons failed."

"But you…"

He looked at the beasts.

"You will not."

The monsters roared loudly.

Rakshor's voice echoed across the chamber.

"Find the Guardian."

"And tear him apart."

Back at the Temple

Arjun finally returned to the courtyard hours later.

His clothes were covered in dust.

His legs felt like they were about to collapse.

Ravi handed him a bottle of water.

"You look like you fought ten mountains."

Arjun laughed weakly.

"Feels like it."

The sage stepped forward.

"Good."

Arjun frowned.

"Good?"

"Yes."

"Because tomorrow…"

The sage's eyes glowed slightly.

"You will begin learning the true powers of the Celestial Guardian."

Arjun looked both excited and nervous.

"What kind of powers?"

The sage raised his hand.

Golden energy surrounded it again.

"The power to bend celestial light."

"The power to move faster than lightning."

"And the power to defeat monsters far stronger than the ones you faced."

Arjun took a deep breath.

His journey had only just begun.

But somewhere in the darkness…

Rakshor's army was already moving.

And soon—

They would come for him again.
