Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Twist No One Expected

The four men slowly walked toward Aarav and Anaya.

The leader looked serious.

"Boss wants to see you," he said.

Aarav stepped slightly in front of Anaya to protect her.

"We're not going anywhere," he replied firmly.

The man laughed.

"That wasn't a request."

Anaya held Aarav's arm nervously.

"Aarav… maybe we should just go and see what they want," she whispered.

Before Aarav could respond, one of the men's phones started ringing.

He looked at the screen and quickly answered.

"Yes, sir."

Everyone stayed silent while he listened.

After a few seconds, his expression suddenly changed.

"Yes… we understand."

He hung up the phone.

The leader looked confused.

"What happened?"

The man said something shocking.

"Boss said… leave them."

"What?" the leader asked.

"He said the problem with Anaya's family is finished."

Aarav and Anaya looked at each other in confusion.

"What do you mean finished?" Aarav asked.

The man shrugged.

"The money was already paid."

Anaya's eyes widened.

"Paid? By who?"

The men didn't answer.

They simply got back into their cars.

Within seconds, both cars drove away.

The park became quiet again.

Aarav looked confused.

"This doesn't make sense."

Anaya looked just as shocked.

"My father definitely didn't have the money."

Just then, Aarav's phone rang.

It was a message.

He opened it.

The message said:

"The debt is cleared. You're free now."

Below it was a name.

ROHAN.

Anaya stared at the phone.

"So he paid the money anyway?"

Aarav frowned.

"But why?"

Before they could understand anything, another voice spoke behind them.

"You're welcome."

They turned around.

Rohan was standing there.

But this time… he didn't look like his usual confident self.

He looked serious.

Anaya crossed her arms angrily.

"So this was your plan again?"

Rohan shook his head.

"No."

Aarav looked at him carefully.

"Then explain."

Rohan sighed.

"You were right about one thing."

"What?" Aarav asked.

"My uncle is behind those men."

Anaya frowned.

"Then why help us?"

Rohan looked directly at Aarav.

"Because my uncle doesn't just want the money."

Aarav's expression turned serious.

"What does he want?"

Rohan's voice became quiet.

"He wants revenge."

"Revenge for what?" Anaya asked.

Rohan looked at Aarav.

Then he said something shocking.

"Your father."

Aarav froze.

"My father?"

Rohan nodded slowly.

"My uncle believes your father destroyed his business years ago."

Anaya looked stunned.

Aarav's mind was spinning.

"My father has nothing to do with this," he said.

Rohan shook his head.

"That's what you think."

Then he added quietly:

"My uncle is coming to this city tonight."

"And when he arrives…"

"He won't just target Anaya's family."

His eyes locked onto Aarav.

"He's coming for you."

The air suddenly felt cold.

Because the real enemy hadn't appeared yet.

And now the danger had become much bigger than anyone expected.
