The Foolish Crocodile and the Clever Monkey

Once upon a time, a clever monkey lived on a big tree beside a river. The tree was full of sweet fruits, and the monkey happily ate them every day.

One day, a crocodile came to the riverbank. The monkey offered him some fruits from the tree. The crocodile liked the fruits very much, and soon they became good friends. Every day the monkey gave him fruits.

The crocodile took some fruits home for his wife. After eating them, the crocodile's wife thought, "If the monkey eats such sweet fruits every day, his heart must be very sweet." She told her husband, "Bring me the monkey's heart. I want to eat it."

The crocodile felt sad but agreed to bring the monkey. The next day he told the monkey, "My wife wants to meet you. Please come to our home."

The monkey said, "But I cannot swim."

The crocodile replied, "Sit on my back, and I will take you."

When they were in the middle of the river, the crocodile told the truth: "My wife wants to eat your heart."

The clever monkey quickly thought of a plan and said, "Oh! I left my heart on the tree. If you take me back, I will bring it for your wife."

The foolish crocodile believed him and swam back to the riverbank. As soon as they reached the tree, the monkey jumped onto a branch and said, "You are very foolish! Nobody leaves their heart on a tree."

The crocodile felt ashamed and went away.
