Chapter 1 - Origin of the Yin–Yang Twins

Chapter 1 The Twins of Balance

The Origin Realm was vast beyond imagination.

Five great continents stretched across the world like ancient pillars supporting the heavens. Powerful sects ruled mountains rich with spiritual energy, ancient clans guarded their bloodlines fiercely, and countless cultivators struggled every day to climb toward immortality.

Strength determined everything.

Power determined fate.

In the heart of the Heaven Origin Continent, among countless ancient families, one clan stood above many others.

The Yin–Yang Clan.

A clan whose bloodline allowed its descendants to cultivate both Yin and Yang energy — a rare balance few could achieve.

Within the massive clan city, towering pagodas rose into the clouds while spirit rivers flowed between elegant stone bridges.

It was a place where geniuses were born.

And mediocrity was discarded.

On a quiet night beneath a full moon, thunder rolled across the sky.

Inside a modest residence belonging to one of the clan's many branch families, a woman cried out in pain.

Servants rushed back and forth anxiously.

The air trembled with tension.

"Push! Just a little more!"

An elderly midwife shouted instructions while wiping sweat from her brow.

Outside the room, a man paced nervously.

His name was Li Wei.

A simple cultivator from the Yin–Yang Clan's branch lineage.

Compared to the powerful main bloodline members, he possessed only average talent and held little status.

Still, his heart pounded with hope.

Tonight, his children would be born.

Suddenly—

A brilliant light flashed through the room.

The midwife gasped.

"Spiritual resonance?!"

A moment later, the cries of newborn babies echoed through the residence.

"Twins!" she exclaimed in shock.

Li Wei rushed inside.

His exhausted wife held two tiny infants wrapped in silk cloth.

One child had dark hair, the other snow-white hair.

The midwife stared at them in disbelief.

"This… this is strange."

"What is it?" Li Wei asked nervously.

The midwife examined the children carefully.

"They both possess spiritual roots… but the energy is perfectly balanced."

"Yin and Yang… fifty-fifty."

Li Wei blinked.

"That sounds good, doesn't it?"

The midwife hesitated.

"Not exactly."

"In cultivation, perfect balance often means neither side is strong enough."

"In other words…"

"They may be completely average."

The room fell silent.

For powerful clans like the Yin–Yang Clan, average talent was the same as useless.

But Li Wei simply smiled.

He gently picked up both infants.

"To me," he said softly, "they are already perfect."

Outside the residence, thunder rolled once more.

High above the clouds, unseen by mortal eyes…

A fragment of ancient consciousness drifted silently through the heavens.

It had wandered the void for millions of years.

Searching.

Waiting.

Until suddenly—

It sensed something.

A resonance.

A perfect balance of Yin and Yang energy.

The fragment trembled.

Then descended toward the mortal world.

Toward the newborn twins.

Inside the quiet room, the babies slept peacefully.

No one noticed the faint ripple of ancient power as the fragment entered their souls.

Within their minds, a deep voice whispered.

A suitable vessel…

After millions of years… I have finally found one.

No.

Not one.

Two.

And thus, the fate of the Origin Realm quietly began to change.
