Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Awakening in the Hell of War

The darkness was absolute.

No sound. No pain. Nothing at all.

Just an endless void stretching in every direction, as if the entire universe had decided to fall silent in a single moment and stay that way forever. No warmth, no cold, no sense of time passing or stopping. Just... nothingness.

"Am I... dead?"

The thought arrived with an unsettling calm, like a dry leaf falling slowly into a still lake that barely ripples. No panic, no inner screaming, no frantic denial. Just a cold acceptance, like ancient ice that never melts.

The last memory was painfully clear. A glowing screen at three in the morning, a dark room around him, the smell of cold coffee on the desk, and a Naruto manga chapter open in front of him. He had been reading about the Third Great Ninja War specifically, studying the panels, wondering how things could have gone differently if someone had known the future in advance.

Then nothing.

"Doesn't matter now."

Then came the pain.

All at once. Without warning. Without mercy.

As if someone had decided to set fire to every single cell, every bone, every nerve in this body at the exact same moment. Real pain. Physical. Unlike anything he had ever experienced before.

"Aah—!"

The sound escaped before he could stop it. A voice he didn't recognize. Higher than expected. Thinner. Smaller.

He opened his eyes with difficulty, or tried to. The pale gray light entered like tiny needles stabbing at retinas that weren't used to it yet. The smell of wet earth, old blood, and burning smoke hit his nose in one brutal, unforgiving wave.

This... is not my room.

First clear thought. Obvious, but it cemented the real dread.

The sky above him was heavy gray like lead, torn by thick black lines of smoke rising from multiple points on the distant horizon. The ground beneath him was hard, cold, and wet with something dark he didn't want to think about right now. Trees surrounded him, some burned down to their roots. Old stone walls cracked and partially collapsed. A heavy silence broken by distant sounds that no one who had lived with them in imagination for years could ever mistake.

Explosions. Screaming. The sounds of ninja fighting to the death.

He moved his hand slowly, painfully. Raised it in front of his face. Looked at it.

A very small hand. Thin, delicate fingers. The hand of a child no older than six or seven.

...

He sat up slowly as the world spun around him in a light, nauseating circle. Every muscle in this small body protested loudly at the simple effort. He looked around with eyes still trying to adjust to the dim light and absorb the full scale of what they were seeing.

Burned trees with thin threads of smoke still curling upward. Collapsed walls of buildings that once held life. A dirt road torn apart as if something massive had sprinted across it at insane speed. And far away on the western horizon, flickering bursts of light that only someone who had lived with them in his imagination could recognize.

Chakra clashing against chakra.

No. No. No. No—

His heart leaped to his throat when he spotted it. On the cracked, leaning wall right beside him. A simple carving cut into the old stone. A small circle with a leaf inside.

The symbol he had seen thousands of times on his computer screen.

The symbol of Konohagakure. The Hidden Leaf Village.

A long, terrifying internal silence.

Then a single laugh escaped him before he realized what he was doing. Hysterical, short, muffled behind his small palm.

I'm in the Naruto world.

I am actually, truly, undeniably, in the Naruto world.

Inside the body of a child who looks no older than six.

In the middle of a ninja war.

The Third Great Ninja War. Specifically.

The exact war he had been reading about before he closed his eyes for the last time.

He looked at his hands again, more carefully this time. Small. Trembling slightly in a way that was almost invisible. But he noticed something he hadn't expected, something his eyes locked onto for several long seconds.

His fingers weren't trembling from the cold.

They were trembling from something else entirely. Something running beneath his skin like a faint, warm electric current. Something gathering at a point somewhere behind his chest, breathing on its own.

Chakra.

This child's body carried chakra.

[System Alert]

The voice came from directly inside his head, not through his ears. Completely neutral, like an old machine that had never learned emotion. No masculinity, no femininity, no warmth, no coldness. Just information delivered with complete indifference to his reaction.

[ YES ] ————— [ NO ]

He stopped breathing for a moment.

A system.

A real system, inside his head.

A system classified as forbidden by the Six Great Dimensions.

Of course. Because being dropped into the middle of a ninja war inside a six-year-old's body apparently wasn't enough.

He thought for a few seconds. He could refuse, theoretically. He could press NO and try on his own. He carried an advantage that wasn't small. Complete foreknowledge of this world's events for decades ahead. He knew who would die, who would betray, where the wars would be fought, who the real enemies hiding behind the curtain truly were.

But knowledge alone doesn't stop a kunai flying at your throat.

Knowledge alone doesn't protect a six-year-old child in the middle of a ninja war.

He closed his eyes for exactly one second. Then opened them.

He pressed.

[ YES ]

He looked toward the western horizon where the flashes of chakra were approaching with slow, calculated patience.

Four hours and seventeen minutes.

In the middle of a ninja war.

Inside the body of a six-year-old who didn't even know his own new name yet.

No jutsu memorized. No weapons to reach for. No armor, no allies, no plan. Nothing real at all except the memory of someone who used to read manga in the dark, thinking he was wasting his time.

Turns out he had been studying.

He stood up slowly and planted his small feet on the hard ground. He took a deep breath, filling these small lungs with the air of this world for the first time with full awareness. The smell of smoke, earth, and burning wood flooded in.

The smell of war.

He looked one final time at the carving on the wall. The symbol of Konoha staring back at him in silence.

A six-year-old body. A forbidden system. A war with no end in sight.

And four hours to survive it.

Alright.

If this is the world I've been reborn into.

And if this system is the hand I've been dealt.

Then I won't waste it.

He took his first step forward
