Chapter 4: An Unfinished Answer
Suddenly today, Nilima felt—how much longer? She opened her phone's keyboard. After her fingers hesitated for a long time, she sent a message to Sayan's old number:
"Everything might not end, Sayan; some stories just remain unfinished, waiting for fulfillment. Is it possible to come to our old Krushnachura tree this afternoon? I will be there."
As soon as the message was delivered, Nilima's heart skipped a beat. Was the three-year-old number still active? Or had Sayan changed? Exactly ten minutes later, the phone vibrated. Sayan's brief reply:
"I am standing right there, Nilima. Waiting for this very moment for three years."
