Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Broken Beginning

It was a peaceful and quiet morning in Aethelia for the king of the Aethelains, Aethose, and his queen, Amelia.

Yawning, Aethose stretched slightly.

"Good morning, my queen," he said.

"Good morning, darling," Amelia replied with a soft smile.

Just then, Kael walked in carrying his younger brother.

"There you two are," Aethose said.

Amelia smiled warmly as Aethose stood up and walked toward them, lifting them both into his arms.

But as he began to walk—

the ground shook.

Aethose suddenly stopped.

"Darling… look outside!"

Amelia walked toward the window and looked out.

Her eyes widened.

Demons were rushing toward the castle, ripping down the gates and breaking through the doors. They stormed into the main court of the castle, heading directly toward them.

"Aethose—"

"Kael! I need you to take your brother and run!"

Kael rushed forward, trying to grab his younger brother—

But a demon struck him with a brutal backhand.

Kael was sent flying off the cliff.

"AETHOSE SCREAMED—"

"NOOO!"

The demons finally reached the main court where they stood.

They dashed forward at blinding speed, ready to strike.

Aethose moved instantly.

He grabbed Amelia and threw his other son into the air.

Amelia caught the child.

She looked down in horror.

"NO!"

Aethose looked up at them one last time.

"I love you… my queen… and my child."

Amelia remained suspended in the air, holding their son.

Her eyes slowly turned red.

Then—

the child in her arms began to slowly vanish.

Amelia suddenly heard something in the distance.

A voice.

A presence.

"The Architect."

Something had begun destroying the timeline itself.

Aethelia… its entire continent… slowly began to vanish from existence.

The sky cracked.

Reality shattered.

Then—

Amelia was struck.

And she vanished.

The child fell from the sky—

but luckily landed.

And then—

he vanished too.
