Chapter 2 - PART 2

The boss asks,

"What is your name? Who are you? Why did you bring me here? What do you want?"

The man stays silent at first.

Then calmly says,

"Oh, you woke up? I thought I hit you too hard. You were unconscious for a long time. But you woke up and started asking so many questions. At least breathe first."

He says jokingly.

Then he says,

"My name is Veer. I just need some information about your gang. Anyway, I'm going to rest now. I'll meet you after some time. Rest well, Armaan."

The boss is shocked.

"How do you know my name?"

Veer replies,

"I researched you well."

Armaan says angrily,

"You think you can catch me and I will tell you everything? You think you can stop us? You think you can destroy our gang?"

Veer starts laughing.

Armaan says,

"Am I joking? Why are you laughing?"

Veer says,

"You think I want to destroy your group?"

He laughs more and says,

"I don't care about your group."

Then he walks out.

Before leaving, he presses a button and says,

"Goodbye. See you in two hours."

Armaan is tied to a bed inside a cell.

From a small hole above, a drop of water starts falling on his head.

One drop.

Every second.

Armaan does not understand what Veer is doing.

Veer walks into a quiet room.

Inside the room, there are a few computers, a bed, and some bags lying around.

Suddenly, a voice comes from one of the computers.

"Sir, will Armaan be able to tolerate this for two hours?"

Veer replies,

"Why, Max? Don't you think he can?"

Max answers in a robotic voice,

"Average people can tolerate this for only 1.5 hours."

Veer says calmly,

"Max, don't worry so much. For people like him, even two hours is less."

"Okay, I'll clarify some things. Until then, keep watching Armaan."

1.5 Hours Later

Armaan is screaming badly.

Max gives an alert.

"Sir, it has been more than 1.5 hours. I think Armaan cannot tolerate this anymore."

Veer replies,

"Max, I made you to follow my orders."

Ten minutes later, Veer goes back to Armaan.

He enters the room and presses a button.

Armaan's condition is very bad.

Veer jokingly says,

"Oh… I thought you could at least survive three hours."

"You said you wouldn't tell anything, right? You know this is my favorite method."

"For the first 40 to 45 minutes, it feels like nothing. But slowly, each drop of water starts feeling heavier. Even strong people break in front of this."

"You are just a small part of your gang. I know you won't risk your life for nothing."

"So let's start our conversation."

Veer is smiling while talking.

But Armaan finds that smile very scary.

Veer unties him from the bed and ties him to a chair.

Veer sits in front of him calmly and says with a smile:

"I will ask only three questions. And I will ask only once. So answer properly like a good boy."

"You have two options. If you want to answer, nod your head once. If you don't want to answer, say no."

"But the twist is — if you say no, the water time will increase. And if I don't like your answer, it will increase too."

Veer is still smiling.

"So let's begin."

Veer starts asking questions.

"Mr. Armaan, first question. The blasts that are going to happen in the city — where will they happen?"

"Your time starts now."

A timer starts on a display screen.

Armaan thinks for a few seconds.

He is about to say something, then stops.

The timer is running.

Finally, Armaan says,

"They will happen at two locations. But…"

Veer looks at him suspiciously.

Armaan continues,

"But that meeting didn't happen that day. So maybe… maybe the blast will not happen this time."

Veer thinks for a moment.

"You answered the first question."

His tone becomes slightly scary.

"Second question. Who orders these blasts? And what benefit do you people get from it?"

Armaan quickly says,

"I am telling the truth! I really don't know. We are only told where to place the blasts."

He keeps repeating that he does not know anything about the mastermind.

Veer watches him carefully.

"Fine. Then tell me about your gang."

Armaan says,

"I don't know much. But the group is very big. There are many people like me in it."

Veer asks,

"What is the name of the group?"

Armaan pauses for a moment and says,

"Black Poison. That's the name."

"I only know that there is drug smuggling in this gang. And it is spread across the whole area."

Veer smiles again.

He takes Armaan back to the cell and locks him inside.

Armaan feels that Veer is very strange.

While leaving, Veer presses the button again.

The water drops start falling again.

Armaan shouts,

"I answered everything! Why again?"

Veer replies,

"I didn't like the answer to the second question."

Veer returns to his room.

Max says,

"Sir, I have analyzed both locations. These areas do not have heavy traffic like last time. A blast there will not cause major damage."

Veer becomes serious.

"Because of us, their previous plan failed. But their plan for blasts still exists."

"Now they know someone is after them. They may change their plan."

Max says,

"Yes, since their previous plan failed because of us, they might not use the old plan again. What should we do? Should we monitor more people?"

Veer stays silent for a moment.

Then he says,

"We cannot take any risk. We will personally check both locations."
