Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Weasley Family

In the very beginning, Vaughn had actually thought about becoming a proper rising star in Potions.

Unfortunately, there were too many big shots in this field...

The conventional healing potions Vaughn initially brewed, such as the Invigoration Draught and Blood-Replenishing Potion, completely failed to compete with those famous potioneers. Even pharmacies were unwilling to stock his products, let alone sell them.

Until one day, he saw his mother washing Ginny's hair and complaining that Ginny had more and more hair, forcing her to buy Sleekeazy's Hair Potion. Inspiration suddenly burst forth, and he felt his future instantly brighten—

Was there anything easier to earn than the money of women and children?

No!

Facts proved that witches were also women.

The pursuit of beauty and the fear of time made them far more willing to spend money than wizards!

Even though the 8-year-old Vaughn had no reputation at the time, there were still witches willing to try the Vaughn Beauty products he developed. To this day, it had evolved into a full line under his hands.

While this brought him fame, it also brought him an income of hundreds of gold Galleons every month!

"Vaughn, darling, are you done?"

A knock on the door interrupted Vaughn's thoughts.

He closed the System panel and, while neatly packing the bottles of beauty potion one by one into an emptied box, answered, "I'm done, Mom. Is it Madam Primpernelle's owl?"

The attic door was pushed open, and the plump Molly walked in, affectionately touching Vaughn's fiery red hair. "The owl is waiting downstairs. Your father is feeding it treats, so there's no rush."

Saying so, she took a coin pouch from her pocket and placed it on the experimental workbench. "This is the money the owl brought. Vaughn, keep it safe yourself."

"Mom, you should keep this..."

"No!" Molly refused with a serious expression, but quickly softened and pulled Vaughn into her broad embrace.

"My darling, how can the family keep using your money? Dad and Mom have said long ago that whether it's you, Bill, or Charlie, the money you earn is your own, not to mention you've already given us quite a bit before."

Ever since Vaughn started making money and prepared to take out a portion to subsidize the family, this kind of conversation had taken place more than once.

The result was almost the same every time; at Molly's insistence, Vaughn could only put the coin pouch away.

It had to be said that whether reading the novels in his past life or experiencing it personally in this life, although the Weasley family was poor, Arthur and Molly had never been unqualified as parents!

After packing the box with Molly's help and casting a spell to prevent the bottles inside from shattering, Vaughn picked up the box and followed Molly downstairs.

On the first floor, Arthur had finished feeding the owl and was sitting at the dining table reading the newspaper.

"Good morning, Dad!"

"Good morning, Vaughn. Come here quickly, the little guy is getting impatient waiting."

"If you know it's getting impatient, why didn't you go upstairs to help Vaughn pack? Arthur Weasley, what else do you do every morning besides reading the newspaper? Poor darling Vaughn works so hard, it takes several days to brew a batch of potions, and you as a father have never helped him, nor are you willing to do chores..."

Amidst Molly's roaring voice, Arthur hurriedly shrank his head back behind the newspaper.

A new day began just like this, amidst Molly's roaring voice and the flapping of the owl's wings as it struggled to lift the box!

This was a familiar daily scene.

Vaughn went to wash up without changing his expression. As he passed by the enchanted full-length mirror, the mirror immediately began to tremble.

"Shut up! Don't speak!" Vaughn pulled out his old wand and pointed it threateningly at the mirror!

The mirror immediately stopped moving. It wasn't until Vaughn had walked far away that a barely audible "Sloppy..." could be faintly heard.

By the time he came out from washing up, the others had also been woken up by Molly. A boy with freckles on his face was just about to duck into the bathroom when he saw Vaughn, and his expression stiffened slightly.

Vaughn smiled at him. "Good morning, Ron!"

"..." Ron puffed out his cheeks and mumbled, "Good morning, Vaughn."

"Where are your manners? Call me older brother!"

Ron's face turned red, and he muttered haltingly, "You were obviously only born 5 minutes before me..."

The smile on Vaughn's face grew even brighter. He still remembered the scene at birth; Ron was supposed to come out first, but at that time he felt uncomfortably squeezed and couldn't help but kick him...

Just as the two were in a stalemate, a pair of identical twins appeared energetically behind Ron, draping their arms over his shoulders from the left and right like Aurors escorting a prisoner.

"Being born 5 minutes earlier still makes him older than you, right George?"

"That's right Fred, just like how I'm only 10 seconds older than you, yet you still have to call me older brother."

"George, you're sleepy and confused, I'm the one who's 10 seconds older than you."

"It's me!"

Ron was made dizzy and exasperated by their bickering.

Fortunately, Ginny also ran over at this moment and happily threw herself into Vaughn's arms. Only then did he mutter something under his breath and took advantage of the chaos to lower his head and rush into the bathroom.

"Good morning, Vaughn!"

"Good morning, Ginny." Vaughn kissed his younger sister's forehead.

In the whole family, he had the best relationship with Ginny. On one hand, by the time Ginny was born, he had already grown accustomed to his life after crossing over and had begun to accept his new family from the bottom of his heart; on the other hand, the two of them looked the most alike and were the representatives of good looks in the Weasley family.

When they were little, Arthur and Molly even joked that Vaughn and Ginny looked more like twins, whereas Vaughn and Ron, the actual twins, didn't look alike at all.

The noisy and bustling morning didn't quiet down even after they finished breakfast.

But unlike usual, Arthur wasn't in a hurry to go to work at the Ministry of Magic.

Percy, who usually went back to his room after eating and wished he could bury himself in a book, was sitting by the window looking outside.

Fred and George, who were always naughtily running out to play, were also sitting quietly on the dining room chairs today, winking at Vaughn and occasionally teasing and bullying Ron.

And Ron, who would usually get so mad at them that his lungs would explode and he would break down and hide, was also forcing himself to stay today.

The whole family was waiting, waiting for the letter from Hogwarts!

By the time the sunlight had leapt over the mountain peaks and shone into The Burrow, everyone finally heard the sound of an owl flapping its wings.

Molly, who had seemed calm all along but was actually absent-minded, hurriedly got up to open the window.

Arthur also put down the newspaper and brought out the unfinished owl treats from the morning.

Before long, an owl flew in and landed on the dining table.

Tied to its leg were two letters. The envelopes were made of thick parchment, and even without taking them off, one could see the extremely conspicuous wax seal on the front, a shield coat of arms featuring a lion, eagle, badger, and snake surrounding the letter H.

Molly excitedly took off the envelopes, glanced at the back, and could no longer suppress her joy and delight, repeatedly exclaiming, "Thank Merlin, it's the acceptance letter from Hogwarts. I've been worrying since yesterday, what if we didn't receive it?"

Arthur, who had also leaned forward but wasn't fast enough to beat Molly to it, now tried hard to put on an indifferent look. "You're always worrying over nothing, how could Vaughn not get into Hogwarts."

"It's Ron I was worried about! You have no idea how scared I was that he wouldn't get a letter. That child has been like a rock since he was little, even his bursts of accidental magic were pitifully small..."

"Mom!"

Ron, whose face was already as red as his hair, hastily snatched the letters, tossed the one belonging to Vaughn over, and then tightly clutched his own letter as he ran back upstairs.

Smiling cheerfully as he watched all this, Vaughn didn't mind either. He picked up his letter and flipped to the back.

At the same time, the System panel also popped up before his eyes.
