Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Uchiha's Golden Generation

His mind raced, thoughts flashing like lightning. Under Uchiha Madara's relentless pressure, Kure quickly made a decision.

"Clang!"

After another collision of their Kunai, Uchiha Kure suddenly looked up.

His pupils had turned blood-red. Within them, two black tomoe rotated slowly—it was none other than the Double Tomoe Sharingan.

Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!

Using the recoil from the clash, Kure leapt backward. Forming hand seals with only his left hand, his right hand slipped into the tool pouch at his waist and hurled several shuriken forward.

"To think he's mastered one-handed hand seals at such a young age?" Uchiha Zhuo, who had just arrived, narrowed his eyes at the two figures below and murmured to himself.

In truth, this technique wasn't especially rare. Endless wars meant many ninjas lost hands in battle, forcing them to learn such methods.

Even without injuries, one-handed hand seals were useful in many special situations.

However, despite living for more than forty years, Uchiha Zhuo had rarely heard of anyone mastering the technique at only six years old.

But when he saw the Single Tomoe Sharingan and Double Tomoe Sharingan on the Training Grounds, he felt reassured. Geniuses were meant to defy common sense.

Uchiha Madara, who was being watched, was far less calm. Yet his agitation had nothing to do with the Phoenix Sage Fires flying toward him, each wrapped around a shuriken.

How could Uchiha Kure already possess the Double Tomoe Sharingan?!

Madara's pride vanished in an instant. He suddenly felt like a fool for mocking his opponent earlier.

In that brief moment, he had already devised a countermeasure.

His body moved like a swimming dragon, weaving gracefully between the seven shuriken that seemed to trap him.

Then he threw a Kunai from each hand, knocking down the final two shuriken before flashing Uchiha Kure a smug smile.

"Heh!"

Kure ignored the smug grin. Instead, a faint smile curved at the corner of his lips.

Madara froze for a split second.

At that moment, he sensed a massive wave of heat rapidly approaching from behind. Before he could react, seven Phoenix Sage Fires engulfed him completely.

"As long as one's Chakra control is sufficient, the path of the Phoenix Sage Fire can be controlled," Uchiha Zhuo explained to the children gathered around, unable to hide the admiration in his voice.

"This requires at least the level of a Special Jonin. Combined with the Double Tomoe Sharingan, even an ordinary Jonin wouldn't be able to defeat him quickly."

"My big brother can do it too! Big Brother is the strongest!"

Izuna puffed out his cheeks defiantly upon hearing the surrounding praise for Kure.

Kure, however, didn't lower his guard despite the successful ambush. His Double Tomoe Sharingan remained fixed ahead.

Sure enough—

Madara's figure within the flames suddenly transformed into a wooden log with a puff.

"As expected."

Kure tried to retreat, but it was already too late.

"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Technique!"

Madara's calm voice came from diagonally ahead. Several chakra threads flickered through the air, and flames ignited along them, forming a blazing barrier that sealed Kure's path.

"It was the two Kunai he threw earlier… they were tied with chakra threads. That's how he trapped me."

Kure understood instantly.

"He had already prepared a counterattack while facing my offense."

With a puff, Kure's body within the flames turned into a cloud of white smoke.

His voice sounded from Madara's rear-right side.

"To react that quickly… as expected of Madara."

Clang!

Their Kunai collided once more.

Madara spun like a top, using the momentum to deflect Kure's attack.

"Same to you. That Double Tomoe Sharingan of yours really surprised me."

Madara's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Only someone like you is worthy of being Uchiha Madara's opponent!"

"Alright, let's stop here today. Call it a draw."

Kure stretched his back and waved casually, already preparing to leave.

"I didn't expect your freakish strength to improve this quickly. I bet you could even defeat a Special Jonin now."

Their exchanges had happened in the blink of an eye.

Not only the children of their age group, but even several ninjas who had retired from the front lines due to injuries stared in shock.

Were these two really only six years old?

This was simply unbelievable.

"Fine."

Madara was clearly still eager to continue, but seeing Kure had no intention of fighting further—and unwilling to bully weaker peers who hadn't even reached Genin-level strength—he could only walk out of the Training Grounds.

The moment they left, the empty field was quickly occupied by the children who had been watching.

They immediately began sparring after choosing opponents.

Seeing that it was still early and having nothing else to do, Kure simply sat beside the Clan Territory Elder, Uchiha Zhuo, watching the younger generation train.

Madara remained nearby with his arms crossed over his chest, standing tall and observing the Training Grounds with his chin raised high.

"Izuna and Taki have already reached this level too?"

Zhuo murmured in disbelief.

He had long heard that this generation was the most talented the Uchiha Clan had seen in a hundred years.

Kure and Madara were geniuses among geniuses, while the rest also far exceeded the usual standards.

But Zhuo spent most of his time handling the clan's logistical affairs and rarely watched the children spar.

Only occasionally did he come to observe the matches between Kure and Madara.

Even those had already shocked him greatly.

Whether it was Kure's Double Tomoe Sharingan or Madara's terrifying combat instincts, both exceeded his expectations.

Two months ago, when he last watched them fight, their strength had only been around the level of an ordinary Chunin.

Now, judging from today's battle, their one-on-one combat ability had already reached the level of a Special Jonin.

Yet the greatest shock today didn't even come from those two monsters.

Instead, it came from the other children he had barely paid attention to before.

Every single one of them was just as astonishing.

The current scene on the Training Grounds was no less intense than the duel earlier—if anything, it was even more spectacular.

C-rank Ninjutsu flew everywhere.

Great Fireball Technique.

Dragon Fire Technique.

Flames filled the air across the field.

After roughly counting, Zhuo realized that more than half of them already possessed Genin-level strength.

And most of the children below were only three or four years old—like Uchiha Izuna.

At such a young age, they already had power comparable to a Genin.

Some of the slightly older ones had even reached Chunin level.

This group of ninjas was the strongest batch he had ever seen.

They truly deserved to be called—

The Uchiha Clan's Golden Generation.

"Good… good… good!"

Uchiha Zhuo laughed heartily.

Although these children couldn't yet serve as immediate combat strength, they represented the clan's future.

With so many geniuses, if they could all grow up safely, the Uchiha Clan would be fully capable of suppressing the Senju Clan within a decade.

Completely wiping out the Senju Clan was impossible.

But as long as their casualty rate didn't exceed one-third—and even if not everyone reached their full potential—

This generation could still produce at least five or six Kage-level powerhouses.

Kure and Madara might even surpass the level of Uchiha Tajima and reach the very peak of Kage-level strength.

By that time, the Uchiha Clan could overwhelm every other force in the world—

All except the Senju.
