Nina climbed down from the balcony and jumped in front of Quill.
The male Primer jumped backwards but breathed out in relief when he saw it was Nina.
"Oh, thank god! It's you." Quill tapped his chest.
"How the hell did you survive?" Nina said.
Quill was a second time Primer. Before Terrorstate, he also survived another mission. Quill was what Nina liked to describe as 'extremely lucky'.
Last time, they jumped to a medieval world and somehow Quill was able to get along with some miller's daughter and spent the entire month there.
"I… It's hard to describe. You won't believe me." Quill said.
"Try me."
Then Quill told Nina about what happened.
"A white swordsman? That guy saved me as well." Nina said.
"He did?"
Nina nodded, "He's very strong. He's an Awaken for sure. I saw him slaughter a horde of Terror effortlessly. I also saw his friend. The one that he mentioned as the Ghost."
Quill brightened up, "Really? Can you lead me to where he is? I need The Ghost's approval to join Zeneros!"
"Why do you want to join him?"
"Well. It's either continue to be a slave for Cyber Runner or be a squire for a noble knight. Which one do you choose?"
"I'd rather be independent."
"That's nice of you to say. He already removed your Cyber Core!"
In the bloody bedroom, Carter picked up the laptop he saw on the table. He was still wearing System Ghost skin. With its Hacking Skill, Carter dove into the internet and found out as much information about this world as possible.
The people of this world called this planet Hexilia. It had its own solar system and many aspects that were similar to Earth.
However, the day here lasted only for eight hours while the night was sixteen. The existence of Terror was publicly known and the residents of this world had tailored its own way to survive through it.
Then there were Invokers. The supernatural pathway of this world. Invokers were gifted people that could use Dark Arts to battle Terror.
"Those are public information. Let me see if I can find something more…"
Carter found his way into the database of big organizations and the government. Terrorstate's technology was nothing compared to Cyber Runner. System Ghost had no problem penetrating their Firewalls.
"Hmmm? Invokers channeled their power from God? Is this world related to the Mythos somehow?"
The Mythos, one of the Seven Pillars of the Prime World. The Seven Pillars represented the seven most powerful paths to power. The Mythos was godhood. All types of god belonged to the Mythos.
Each pillar had smaller factions that followed them. The Utopia was also one of the Seven Pillars and Cyber Runner was officially a faction under the Utopia.
With the Hacking Skill, Carter quickly found the core of their power and how to use it. Unfortunately, he couldn't understand it one bit and he couldn't use it either.
"Never mind. Let me just download this information into the Cyber Core."
Each Cyber Core was a mini computer. More powerful than any device in this world could be. Now that Carter had taken the master control of them. There was no reason to not make use of them.
[DETECTING COMPATIBLE ITEMS]
[Add x3 Cyber Cores as items for System Ghost?]
'What is this? Sure, why not.'
As soon as Carter did that, the three Cyber Cores appeared as items in System Ghost's profile, they had officially become one with the skin.
'Interesting… So the skin could change as well.'
Carter used his Hacking Skill to create a fake identification and a fake bank account inside Terrorstate. Then he snatched money from the billionaires that wouldn't even recognize it was gone. He stole a few from each of them and even more from other corporations. These missing numbers would only cause an eyebrow raise if they found out, but all of them combined create generational wealth for Carter.
He was now officially Carter Caine, a resident within Hexilia.
Carter created a fake portrait and fake history for Carter Caine and everything. Once he was done, he used the Disguise Skill to turn himself into the fake portrait he had created.
A rather arrogant looking millionaire with respectable handsomeness.
Carter looked at him in the mirror and adjusted his slick back hair.
"That should be enough. I will be staying in this world for a while. An identity is required."
Once he finished, Carter sneakily climbed out of the house. The bedroom was a crime scene and he didn't need to bring unnecessary trouble to him.
Carter had connected the Cyber Cores to the internet of this world so he could make use of its network at any moment. Through the Cyber Cores, Carter spotted Quill walking with Nina.
"My two little Primers…"
Carter intended to recruit the two of them to be his underlings. But he wasn't in a hurry. He left them to be on their own while he went on with his business.
The Eldritch Knight was a fabrication the Skin System designed. It had no true heritage. With the wealth he acquired from the System Ghost, he was planning on making them come true.
"Zeneros Blackburn, huh… You should have a castle or some kind."
Carter wanted to check if he could gain Synchronization this way.
The humans of this world went out of their houses as the danger of the night had gone. Terror would die in sunlight so the only time it was safe was day time.
Carter entered a brunch restaurant to have some meal. It was rather delicious but not exactly like his old world. He watched the TV inside the restaurant delivering the news of last night.
"There was no giant outbreak last night. The government states that casualties should be less than 2,000 all across Hexilia."
Carter tried the breath of this world. It was crunchy and a little bit bitter. But still, it was very delicious.
He noticed a pair or particular humans within the restaurant. The girl wore a gothic dress while the man had a long trench coat. They both wore an aluminum cross on their neck.
'Invokers?' Carter secretly used the Cyber Cored to put surveillance on them.
Through their phones, Carter listened to their conversation.
"Ugh. Last night's outbreak was out of control. Even more Terrors on the street. We don't even have enough Invokers to deal with them." The woman said.
"There is a gathering at dusk. Are you going?" The man said.
"What gathering?"
"Some rich bastard is hosting it. There will be a lot of wealthy people there. They're trying to create an organization for the Invokers to better deal with the Terrors."
"Where is this?"
"At the Ossie Tower."
Carter silently wrote down the address in his Cyber Core.
'Gathering for rich people? Carter Caine definitely needs to go there. It might be a good option for me to integrate into this world.'
