Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Gold Medal Manager Wen Wan

Jiang Su didn't bother to lower his voice. With a single shout, he made sure everyone in the house who needed to know had heard the news.

Jiang Huai was a bit surprised to hear that Xuxu wanted to participate in a variety show.

Although they hadn't been back in contact for long, his time with her had shown him that his sister wasn't the type who liked to show off. Even when she dabbled in metaphysics or Feng Shui, it was only because she saw something that needed handling and felt obligated to intervene.

Otherwise, considering how troublesome Jiang Han and Jiang Cheng were, she could have put them in their place in a matter of minutes.

Regardless of her reasons, if Jiang Xuxu wanted to join a variety show, Jiang Huai naturally supported her.

Not only did he support her, but he even insisted on accompanying her to meet this so-called producer.

"You don't have a manager. Someone needs to go over the requirements for the program and the terms of the contract very carefully for you."

He didn't think anyone would actually dare to scheme against a member of the Jiang family, but it was better to be safe than sorry. This was especially true since it was a rare occasion where Xuxu showed interest in something other than metaphysics.

Although his second uncle had his own entertainment company, Jiang Huai had never liked his uncle's attitude toward Xuxu. He had no intention of letting her be managed under his uncle's banner.

After a moment's thought, he turned away and made a phone call.

A short while later, Jiang Huai returned with a smile and said to Jiang Xuxu, "I borrowed a gold-medal manager. They'll accompany us this afternoon to meet that producer."

Since his sister was making her "debut," she couldn't just accept any random show. She needed a professional to vet things for her.

"Borrowed?" Jiang Xuxu found the word choice strangely familiar.

Jiang Huai only smiled and said nothing more.

Sure enough, that afternoon, she met the professional her brother had "borrowed."

It was Wen Wan, a gold-medal manager from Starry Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Chu Group. The actors under her wing were all movie kings, queens, or top-tier idols. She was a woman who appeared highly capable yet retained a soft, approachable air.

The moment Wen Wan saw Jiang Xuxu, her eyes crinkled into a warm smile, showing none of the intimidating pressure usually associated with industry powerhouses.

"I've heard many comments about Miss Jiang online recently. I didn't expect to have the chance to meet you today."

Despite her words, someone of Wen Wan's caliber wouldn't normally consider signing an "internet celebrity." In this era, influencers faded as quickly as they rose.

However, it was undeniable that this girl named Jiang Xuxu had all the potential to become a superstar.

She had a powerful background, immense talent, and an impeccable appearance. On top of that, she carried a natural buzz due to her metaphysical skills. She was an artist who required very little packaging to generate massive heat.

Wen Wan knew of several other companies that were already trying to find her contact information to sign her.

Unfortunately for them, she had the Jiang family behind her. The eldest daughter's private information was kept under tight wraps. Even her status as the Jiang family's miss was known only to the upper-class circles; very little was known about it online.

Wen Wan only knew because the special assistant to President Chu at the headquarters had personally given her the instructions.

What surprised her most was that President Chu had actually agreed to this. The last time a younger master from a branch of the Chu family asked Starry Entertainment for resources to help him debut, he had been flatly rejected.

Thinking of this, Wen Wan acted with extreme courtesy toward the young lady before her.

As the small group exchanged a few words, Zhou Hehe finally arrived.

Zhou Hehe was filled with anticipation regarding his invitation to Jiang Xuxu. Her trending potential was high enough on its own, but having the Jiang family as a pillar of support made her even more valuable.

Of course, the Jiang family's involvement wasn't widely known in the industry. He had only learned of her identity through Jiang Yumin recently, which had allowed him to get her contact information ahead of everyone else.

Zhou Hehe entered with a practiced smile, but when he saw the other two people sitting in the booth, his expression stiffened for a second before he quickly recovered.

His face was smiling, but his heart was pounding.

He knew that the Jiang family's daughter wouldn't have a simple debut, but he never expected her to pull a gold-medal manager from Starry Entertainment right out of the gate. If she was already signed to Starry, he would have to significantly upgrade the treatment package he had prepared for her.

Despite his internal panic, he greeted the three of them warmly.

"I'm so sorry I'm late. Miss Jiang, Manager Wen, and this gentleman is...?"

"Jiang Huai, Xuxu's brother." Jiang Huai shook his hand with a generous, casual air.

Zhou Hehe was secretly shaken. Jiang Huai. This was the eldest grandson of the Jiang family and the future heir to the Jianghai Group. To think he would show up in person.

This proved just how much this Miss Jiang was valued by her family.

To put it another way, if he could keep this man happy, the show's post-production funding would be absolutely secure.

Of course, that was just a form of insurance; his production team wasn't short on cash.

Zhou Hehe spent a few minutes on pleasantries and flattery before getting straight to the point.

"Since Wen Wan is here, I assume you've already looked into our show, Inspiration. This project is the first celebrity variety show in the country to involve metaphysical adventures. We're using a lineup of amateurs, influencers, and stars.

Besides amateur guests like Miss Jiang, we've also invited the famous Taoist Master Qingchen from Qingfeng Temple and a very popular metaphysical streamer. There are also three celebrity guests... though I must keep their identities a secret for now."

Zhou Hehe spoke politely, but as an industry insider, Wen Wan understood the subtext. Either they hadn't finished casting yet, or the people they had secured were big enough that they needed to maintain an air of mystery.

As for the Inspiration project, she was indeed familiar with it. Zhou Hehe had reached out to one of her artists not long ago.

She had rejected it after considering all the factors. Firstly, the celebrities under her were at a level where joining such a show felt like a step down. Secondly, metaphysical variety shows carried a risk with the censors. While the state's control wasn't as strict as it used to be, there was no telling if the program might be shut down halfway through production.

Those were all risks.

Before Zhou Hehe arrived, Wen Wan had informed Jiang Xuxu of these risks, but the young lady of the Jiang family clearly didn't mind.

Sure enough, Jiang Xuxu only raised an eyebrow slightly when she heard the mention of the Taoist from Qingfeng Temple. She didn't say much else. After understanding the nature of the show, she left the contract negotiations entirely to Wen Wan and Zhou Hehe.

Zhou Hehe showed a great deal of respect, offering a package that was only slightly below that of a top-tier artist. This was a gesture of respect to both the Jiang family and Wen Wan.

Since both parties were in agreement, Zhou Hehe said briskly, "I'll have my team draw up the contract based on these details. Should I coordinate directly with Starry Entertainment when the time comes?"

Jiang Xuxu looked at Jiang Huai. Jiang Huai was very satisfied with his sister's deferential attitude and smiled. "Xuxu will be temporarily affiliated with Starry. Everything can be coordinated through Starry Entertainment."

He wasn't just "borrowing" a person. Since the "Great Demon King" Chu was being uncharacteristically easy to talk to, Jiang Huai wasn't going to hold back.

Once the matters were settled, Zhou Hehe stood up to take his leave. However, Jiang Xuxu, who had barely spoken until now, suddenly handed him a yellow paper talisman folded into a specific shape.

In her clear, ethereal voice, she said calmly, "A greeting gift. If you find yourself in places with heavy Yin Qi recently, it would be best to keep this on you."
