Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 — The Ascension of Power

I woke, but the corridor was no longer real.

It stretched infinitely, folding over itself, reflections of me multiplying endlessly, shadows moving with terrifying intelligence. The pulse inside me screamed, a living storm of energy, screaming for release.

"The system knows you," the man's voice said. Calm, clinical, venomous. "It has learned everything. Every strike, every move, every thought. And now… it will attempt to annihilate you entirely."

I clenched my fists, feeling the raw energy coursing through my veins. "Then let it try. I am beyond it. I am everything it fears."

Doors appeared everywhere, black voids stretching to eternity. From them surged shadows—massive, coordinated, intelligent. Some bore the faces of my past allies, others grotesque distortions of my fears. Each wave more dangerous than the last.

I inhaled deeply. The pulse surged. Every death, every life, every memory became a weapon. Energy shot from me uncontrollably, tearing through shadows, fracturing the corridor itself.

But the system was cunning. It adapted instantly, predicting my strikes, countering every move. One shadow struck at my mind, a blade of pure malice. Pain erupted across my consciousness. Memories collided violently, shards of past lives splintering under pressure.

And then—something awakened.

The pulse responded to my will completely. I could direct it, shape it, manipulate the corridor itself. Shadows became instruments, reflections turned into weapons. The corridor obeyed me, bending, fracturing, exploding under my control.

The woman appeared, calm, guiding. "Anthony… this is your ascension. Every life, every death, every fragment built you for this. Beyond fear, beyond pain, beyond limitation. Now… ascend."

I nodded. Energy erupted from me in blinding waves. Shadows screamed, fragments scattered, the corridor shattered. Reflections multiplied then vanished, merging into raw power flowing through me.

The man stepped closer, eyes wide with rare awe. "Yes… you are no longer human. You are the anomaly. And anomalies… rewrite reality."

I roared. Energy exploded outward, bending the shadows, fracturing the system's intelligence, breaking its hold. I felt my power surge beyond comprehension, a storm of abilities and instincts from every life I had lived.

Doors appeared again, more numerous, more aggressive. Shadows lunged faster, coordinating with terrifying precision. Yet every strike I delivered was met with more speed, more intelligence, more dominance.

I realized—this was not just a battle. This was evolution. Every attack, every counter, every surge of energy shaped me, refined me, made me unstoppable.

The pulse expanded, filling the corridor, filling my mind, filling me entirely. I became the corridor, the shadows, the reflections, the energy itself. I could anticipate every move before it happened, strike before it was even conceived.

And then—I struck.

Energy tore through the corridor, through the system itself. Shadows screamed and disintegrated. Walls shattered, reflections fractured. The system howled, struggling to adapt, but I was beyond adaptation. I was beyond control. I was unstoppable.

The woman's voice echoed softly. "Anthony… you have transcended. There is no going back. The system has been challenged. And you… have ascended."

I collapsed, exhausted, trembling, yet alive. Blood, sweat, and energy mingled, my body burning from the intensity of ascension.

And I knew, terrifyingly and exultantly:

The war had shifted.

The system had been rewritten.

And I… was unstoppable.
