I swear… I don't know what you'd do without me."

Visual: She pauses. Water keeps running.

Wife:

"…I know."

Scene 2 — The Financial Cage

Visuals: Her wallet opens. Empty.

Husband:

"I'm heading to the store.

What do you need?"

Wife:

"Just… milk.

Maybe some fruit."

Visual: He pulls out a single $20.

Husband:

"Here.

Don't spend it all."

Wife:

"I wasn't—"

Husband (cutting her off):

"You're not good with money.

I'll handle it."

Visual: She folds the $20 slowly. Her hands tremble.

Husband (glancing at her phone):

"Who's that?"

Wife:

Husband:

"No.

Tell her you're busy."

Deletes what she wanted to say.
