Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Auntie, Times Have Changed

The next day, Midtown High School.

On campus, students were still discussing yesterday's thrilling four-way battle. In the corridors, the phrase "Fuck The Punisher" could be heard from time to time.

Because of the miraculous restoration of the school, the previously unknown Punisher received a massive amount of media attention.

Countless reporters swarmed into Midtown High, interviewing anyone they could find and trying every possible way to dig up more information about The Punisher.

JJJ (J. Jonah Jameson) praised "The Punisher" to the high heavens.

Although both hid their identities, JJJ felt that Ghost-Spider caused destruction wherever she went, whereas "The Punisher" had restored an entire school building in public. Not only did he ensure the children had a place to study, but he also saved tens of millions in property damage.

The contrast was stark, making the winner immediately obvious.

Such a blatant display of double standards made Gwen so angry that she put on her suit early in the morning and frantically vented by spraying webs at JJJ's ugly face on the big screen in Times Square.

"Students, because our civics teacher, Mr. Tommy, accidentally broke his leg, we have a substitute teacher for civics, Tasha."

As the homeroom teacher spoke, a beautiful leg clad in black stockings was the first thing to enter the students' field of vision, instantly energizing the male students who had been slumped over their desks.

When Ms. Tasha—with her curly red hair, exquisite features, hot figure, and professional suit—walked into the classroom, the room instantly erupted!

The male students almost turned into Indians, wishing they could put their hands to their mouths and start shouting "woooo~" on the spot.

Even the female students cast looks of envy and jealousy at this Ms. Tasha.

She was just too beautiful, too sexy!

She instantly made all these young girls look plain in comparison.

Hearing the howling around her, Gwen instinctively rolled her eyes.

What a bunch of superficial guys. Peter definitely wouldn't be like that.

Thinking this, Gwen subconsciously glanced sideways, only to let out a huff of anger on the spot.

Because not far from her, Peter was staring unblinkingly at this Ms. Tasha, a strange smile on his face...

Now, Gwen's already unpleasant mood became even worse!

I really didn't expect you to be this kind of person, Peter!

She couldn't help but puff out her cheeks as she looked at Ms. Tasha's plump features, then looked down at her own'small steamed buns'... and then, her mood became even more depressed.

If Peter could hear Gwen's inner thoughts, he would definitely cry out that he was being wronged.

Although he did take an extra look at certain places—okay, several looks.

But he really wasn't charmed by her!

He just hadn't expected that Nick Fury would actually send out Black Widow, a woman who could be called a staple of the 'Marvel Must-Eat List,' right from the start.

"Hello, students."

While Peter was finding the appearance of Black Widow amusing,

Ms. Tasha, or rather "Black Widow" Natasha Romanoff, was introducing herself while quickly scanning everyone in the classroom.

After a brief observation, her gaze quickly focused on Peter and Gwen.

As an ace Agent, she was very sensitive to the gazes and temperaments of others, and could almost judge a person's general social status just by their aura.

She could also easily determine a person's current emotional state through their eyes.

In her view, the most extraordinary people in the classroom were undoubtedly Peter and Gwen.

At the same time, they were the two individuals Nick Fury had specifically instructed her to focus on.

As early as last night, S.H.I.E.L.D. had pressured Norman Osborn over the phone and obtained some vague intelligence from him.

For example, that Gwen had served as Connors' assistant, and Peter had solved the Decay Rate Algorithm, and so on.

Although Norman only revealed that much, it was enough for Black Widow.

As a professional Agent, she was confident she could easily find the flaws in both of them.

With that thought, Natasha began the day's lesson.

The 45 minutes passed in a flash. When the bell rang, Natasha thought for a moment and then said:

"Peter Parker, come to my office for a moment."

To this, Peter appeared quite calm. After giving Gwen a quick wink, he stood up and walked toward the office.

As expected, there was no one else in the office; it was just Natasha and Peter.

"Have a seat."

Natasha gave Peter a charming smile and instinctively crossed her legs.

Her legs, wrapped in black stockings, overlapped, and her rounded thighs deformed slightly from the pressure, presenting a distinct kind of sexiness.

Natasha didn't actually think too much of it; she just instinctively wanted to fish for some information through some simple daily conversation.

But as soon as Peter spoke, she was startled into a shiver:

"Let's skip the pointless testing. Agent Natasha Romanoff."

The moment she heard this, Natasha's entire body tensed up, and her hand instinctively moved toward her pocket—where a Lipstick Gun was hidden.

"Peter, I don't understand what you're talking about."

"Is that so?" Peter smiled slightly, then reached out a finger and tapped it on Natasha's desk.

Puff~

With a dull sound, the solid wood desk was instantly pierced by his finger.

"My patience is limited. If I don't hear the answer I want, you and the people behind you will lose the chance to talk to me forever."

Peter had previously thought about whether he should play along with her for a bit.

But he quickly abandoned that idea.

Because it was completely unnecessary!

Playing games with S.H.I.E.L.D. offered him no benefits whatsoever.

The other side already suspected him; as long as he continued to act in the future, they would definitely deduce his identity.

Rather than letting that one-eyed egg show up at his house to act all high and mighty later, it was better to take the initiative, make them wary of his abilities, and use that to gain more benefits.

Looking at the hole left in the desk, cold sweat broke out on Natasha's forehead. Although she had been an Agent for decades, she had truly never seen a target like Peter.

This made her feel somewhat out of her element and even more at a loss.

How did a high schooler know her identity?

Even if he was a superhuman, a masked hero, and had learned of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s existence through Norman Osborn, he shouldn't be able to state her true identity in one go!

Despite having all sorts of questions in her mind, after taking a deep breath, Natasha forced herself to calm down and had to follow Peter's lead by saying:

"Fine, I admit it. Peter—or should I say 'The Punisher'—I am here on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury to extend an invitation to you."

"Your abilities have very important strategic significance for the country. We hope you can serve your nation."

Natasha first tried playing the patriotism card, but Peter scoffed at it:

"Auntie, times have changed. You didn't think I'd be like Captain America, putting on a dog leash just because of a phrase like'serving the country,' did you?"
