Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: A God-Tier Boss, nightingale Invites to Dance

Skye's hacking skills were indeed no joke.

Peter had only just finished introducing the inside information about the Life Foundation when Skye's slender fingers were already tapping out a series of afterimages on the keyboard.

In less than three minutes.

"Done."

Skye whistled triumphantly and then turned the laptop screen toward Peter with a relaxed expression:

"Highest-level access to all Life Foundation workstations, including real-time monitoring of their 'drake' Rocket, is all right here."

Peter instinctively glanced at the computer screen and found that the young girl wasn't bragging at all.

She had truly hacked into the Life Foundation's database, and her methods were much more sophisticated than Peter's, completely bypassing the alarms of their cybersecurity department.

She even dug up the call recordings between Carlton and the astronauts.

The astronauts on the drake Rocket had indeed found Symbiotes, and they found four of them at once!

This skill, this efficiency—it was so ridiculous that even Peter, a superpowered individual, couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

As expected, professional tasks should be left to professionals!

"You did great. I knew you could do it!"

Peter couldn't help but praise Skye.

The young girl's pale face, a result of malnutrition, unconsciously flushed with two rosy clouds at her idol's praise; her bashful appearance was quite cute.

"I'll need you to keep a close eye on the movements of this Life Foundation Rocket for a while. Contact me immediately if anything unexpected happens."

Peter first gave Skye a short-term task, then after some thought, decided to give her a little incentive to solidify her resolve to work for him:

"Since you're already one of my people now, I naturally won't mistreat you..."

Saying this, Peter instinctively sized up the environment inside the van.

Since leaving the orphanage, Skye had lived, eaten, and slept in this cramped van; under such circumstances, the interior was naturally far from tidy.

The khaki seat cushions were worn to a shiny patina, and dirty clothes were piled on the back seats. Peter even saw some strange little toys among them... Well, she's a shut-in hacker girl, it's normal to do a little 'mining' once in a while... Thinking this, Peter felt that the smell in the car wasn't quite so simple.

Besides the smell of Gatorade mixed with fast food, there seemed to be something else... Noticing Peter's gaze, Skye's face instantly turned from an excited blush to an embarrassed flush.

Just as she was frantically trying to cover things up, Peter calmly pulled a business card from his tactical belt:

"Don't live in this van anymore. Go report here in a bit."

"Once you get there, tell the front desk I sent you. Have her prepare a staff dormitory for you and get you a new car. You can pick whatever you want as long as the budget is under three hundred thousand..."

Room and board included, plus a luxury car worth three hundred thousand?

What kind of god-tier treatment is this!

Skye instantly felt the meaning of "dying for the one who recognizes her worth." She didn't even care about hiding her toys anymore and hurriedly took the business card.

"Parker Tech?"

The moment she saw the company name, Skye's eyes lit up.

She was all too familiar with this company!

The unicorn generation 1 was the hottest fashion item in the tech world at the end of the year!

She had been taking jobs day and night recently just to be able to get her own unicorn generation 1 as soon as possible!

"Boss, you... you work at Parker Tech?"

Skye's expression instantly became incredibly excited, with a hint of gossip. "What's your position? If I go there, will I be able to see you every day?"

Peter looked at her fangirl expression and suddenly found it a bit amusing.

He crossed his arms and flexed in an extremely nonchalant tone:

"Oh, that company."

"It's mine."

Skye's expression became incredibly colorful.

Guys, who can understand this? Her two most admired people had merged into one!

A wall-crawling superhero and a self-made tech company owner?

Oh my god! Big shot! Do you still need any leg ornaments?

Wait, I'm already a leg ornament. Never mind then.

Looking at Skye's adoring eyes, Peter couldn't help but feel extremely satisfied.

He lightly patted Skye's shoulder and encouraged her:

"I'm well aware of your abilities. From now on, in addition to your work for the Fist of Shadow, you'll work part-time as the Cybersecurity Director for Parker Tech.

Work hard, and a million-dollar annual salary won't be a dream in the future!"

...After settling Skye, his future right-hand woman, Peter and Gwen's high school life finally entered its final countdown.

Three days later, Peter's Prom at Midtown High School arrived.

Because Peter had already torn through the Web Event, the Prom was perfectly peaceful.

The only awkward part was that Gwen, who had agreed to dance with Peter at the Prom, had to cancel at the last minute because of a gang robbery nearby.

This might be one of the curses of the spider totem—Spider-Man always seems to be absent during the major moments of his life.

Peter didn't feel annoyed by this, nor did he have any petty thoughts like "Is fighting crime more important than me?"

Gwen's kindness was one of the main reasons he fell for her in the first place.

So, he didn't mind waiting for Gwen for a while, waiting for her to deal with those small troubles before coming back to continue their unfinished dance.

While Peter was waiting boredly for Gwen's return, a familiar voice suddenly reached his ears:

"Hey, Peter, where's Gwen?"

Hearing the voice, Peter instinctively looked up and saw that the speaker was Felicia.

Tonight, she wore a sexy black backless gown, looking like a rose blooming alone in the dark night.

She attracted the gazes of countless adolescent boys.

Noticing that Gwen wasn't by Peter's side, she inexplicably rejected the boys around her who were inviting her to dance and instinctively moved closer to Peter.

"Do you even need to ask? She's transformed into Ghost-Spider and gone to fight for justice, of course."

Since Gwen's identity couldn't be exposed, Peter could only lean in and whisper in Felicia's ear.

As he spoke, he unconsciously glanced into the abyss.

Well, Felicia really had something; even without any padding to deceive, she was a cup size larger than Gwen... The warm breath Peter exhaled while speaking hit Felicia's ear, making her instinctively shrink her neck.

"She's always so hardworking," Felicia couldn't help but sigh.

After obtaining the emerald dragon scale and becoming "nightingale," she had also done her fair share of justice-fighting in the night.

But compared to Gwen, who forgot to eat and sleep to fight evil, Felicia was more like a "hero for fun."

Whether she went out to do justice depended entirely on her mood.

This meant that although she had gained some fame in various media, she still couldn't compare to Ghost-Spider, who had officially become "The Big Apple City Vigilante."

Looking at Peter, who was boredly resting his chin on one hand, and then at the men and women swaying on the dance floor, Felicia ultimately couldn't restrain her inner impulse.

So, after lightly biting her lip, she extended her hand toward Peter with a tsundere expression:

"Seeing as you're so pitiful, being stood up by your date at the last minute, and to ensure you don't become the laughingstock of your classmates on the last day of high school... I shall graciously grant you the chance to dance with me!"
