Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920-1975) was the architect of Bangladesh's independence, father of the nation and first president. Born in Tungipara, Gopalganj on March 17, 1920, this great leader freed the Bengali nation from the exploitation of Pakistan and established independent Bangladesh in 1971.
