Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Arena After School

School finally ended.

Students quickly packed their bags and left the classrooms, but many of them were whispering about something.

"Are you going to the arena?"

"I heard the Queen called someone there."

Kai sighed as he walked through the hallway.

Why does everything in this school end in fighting?

He slowly made his way to the training arena.

When he arrived, he noticed something strange.

The arena wasn't empty.

A few students were sitting in the stands, watching quietly.

And in the center of the arena…

Zara was waiting.

Her arms were crossed as flames flickered gently around her fingers.

Kai walked toward her.

"You really like this place," he said.

Zara looked at him calmly.

"I want to see something."

Kai rubbed the back of his neck.

"You already saw me lose today."

"That's not what I want to see."

Before Kai could respond—

CLAP.

Someone slowly applauded from the arena entrance.

Both Kai and Zara turned.

A tall boy with silver hair walked into the arena confidently.

Lightning sparks danced around his hands.

Students in the stands whispered nervously.

"That's… Axel."

"The King of Nova High."

Axel stopped a few meters away from them and smiled.

"Well… well."

His eyes looked directly at Kai.

"So you're the powerless guy everyone is talking about."

Kai sighed quietly.

This is getting worse.

Axel continued smiling.

"Zara, why did you call him here?"

Zara didn't look away from Kai.

"Because I think he's hiding something."

The arena suddenly felt tense.

Kai scratched his head.

"You guys are overthinking things."

Axel laughed.

"Maybe."

Then his eyes became sharp.

"But the King of this school needs to know everything that happens here."

Lightning flickered around his hand.

"So tell me, Kai…"

His voice became cold.

"Are you really powerless?"

Kai looked at the two strongest students in the school standing in front of him.

For the first time since arriving at Nova High…

Things were becoming dangerous.
