So I chose to stay.

We grew closer.

Closer than I ever allowed myself to be with anyone.

We held hands.And I didn't pull away.

We watched movies.And I didn't look at the clock.

We lived.

Every moment felt fragile.

Like glass that could break at any second.

But that's what made it beautiful.

One evening, she leaned her head on my shoulder.

"Promise me something," she said.

"What?"

"Even if something happens… don't forget me."

My chest tightened.

"I won't."
