Chapter 43 - Chapter 42: The Ruin of the Forgotten God

Lu Chen stood up, his eyes bloodshot but fixed with a new, desperate resolve. "Xiao, the records of the future I have are incomplete. There was a place mentioned in the oldest texts, a 'Forbidden Zone' that even Fang Yuan avoided in the previous life. They called it the 'Void of the Tenth Law'."

"But that place is a myth," Yue Xiao argued, her hand tightening on his shoulder. "They say it's a hole in reality where Qi doesn't exist. You'll be powerless there."

"Exactly," Lu Chen whispered. "If Qi doesn't exist, then Fang Yuan's mastery over Qi becomes his greatest weakness. I need to find the 'Paradox Fragment'."

Leaving the Alliance under the command of the Sect Leaders, Lu Chen and Yue Xiao traveled to the edge of the world—the Silent Abyss of Sinai. There, the sky wasn't blue or black; it was a static, flickering grey.

As they stepped into the ruins, the Aether-Zero blade began to scream. The spirit of Lin'er within the sword felt the rejection of this place. Their Rank and cultivation began to drain rapidly. Rank 5... Rank 4... Rank 2... until Lu Chen felt like a mere mortal again.

In the center of the ruins sat a throne made of nothingness. On it was a tablet inscribed with symbols that shifted every time they looked at them. This was the Tenth Law: The Law of Nullification.

"To take it," a voice echoed from the stones, "you must surrender the one thing you brought back from the future: your memories. You will have the power to kill him, but you won't remember why you hate him."

Lu Chen looked at Yue Xiao. If he lost his memories, he would lose the love they had built across two lives. He would be a weapon without a soul.
