Chapter 25 - 25

Chapter 25: I Am Destiny

Naruto finally realized what was happening.

The Sealing Space was located inside his own body; clearly, the Big Fox was just a tenant.

And yet, it actually kicked the landlord offline with one foot.

That's going too far.

An unruly guest like you deserves to be subjected to the landlady's ear-pulling and Lion's Roar technique.

Naruto then thought about how his future 'landlady' seemed to be Hinata.

Never mind, Hinata must never become like that.

He wouldn't be able to take it.

After resting for a while, Naruto and Sasukestarted harvesting the rice again.

In two days, they finished more than half.

Mainly because Sasuke's progress was relatively slow.

The weekend passed, and a new week began.

Just as Sasuke was planning to go to school, Naruto called out to him and began pitching his Shadow Clone class-skipping method like a pyramid scheme.

"It can actually be done like that?"

Sasuke, who had always been a top student, immediately felt a new world of possibilities opening up.

He hadn't wanted to go to class for a long time.

A life surrounded by all sorts of beautiful girls at school every day was truly annoying.

Especially with two of them fighting in front of him all the time.

When Naruto found out, he couldn't help but exclaim.

Talk about a humblebrag.

He'd accidentally let Sasuke show off again.

Counting them up, Naruto had already egged three people into skipping class.

He hoped Iruka would never find out the truth.

"Naruto... kun?"

After spending two difficult days at home, Hinatarushed to the Treehouse almost immediately.

But to her surprise, she wasn't the first one there.

"Hinata, morning."

"Morning... Why is Sasuke-kun here?"

Hinata walked toward Naruto, but her eyes kept sizing up Sasuke beside him.

Although she and Sasuke were classmates, they weren't very close.

Her only impression of him was that of a cold, aloof genius.

"Oh, he came over to help."

Naruto glanced at Sasuke, and considering his personality, didn't mention that he'd given him a sound thrashing.

But Hinata was a bit skeptical.

Her intuition told her it wasn't that simple.

Sasuke didn't exactly seem like a helpful citizen.

Why would he be bored enough to come help harvest rice?

"Hinata-san."

Sasuke stopped eating the dog food and called out.

Since Naruto hadn't mentioned his embarrassing moment, he naturally couldn't be too aloof.

For Naruto's sake, he'd offer a greeting.

"Hello, Sasuke-kun."

Out of politeness, Hinata responded.

Naruto was somewhat surprised; she actually didn't trigger her social anxiety symptoms.

After a while, Neji arrived; he didn't have much of a reaction to Sasuke.

After seeing Naruto, a genius of the Uchiha Clandidn't seem like much.

Sasuke, however, became interested.

He had heard that Neji was the top student in the second grade.

Both the Hyuga and Uchiha were prestigious clans of Konoha.

Based on their ages, Neji could be considered a proper rival.

As for Hinata, he ignored her directly.

Her personality was too soft.

He had no interest.

However, considering they weren't well-acquainted, Sasuke didn't rashly propose a spar.

Naruto created a Shadow Clone and took Neji and Hinata to the small grove to supervise their Sage Mode cultivation.

Although Sasuke was curious, he didn't ask.

After two more days of hard work, they finally finished harvesting all the rice from the two fields.

Naruto looked at the piles of golden rice stalks and couldn't help but smile.

The exhausted Sasuke lay spread-eagled on the ground, staring up at the sky.

If only his brother were here.

His progress these past few days had been rapid; he would definitely be able to surprise him.

Unfortunately, he hadn't seen him in a long time.

As one who had already redeemed his talent, Uchiha Itachi could definitely be called a backbone of Konoha.

Sasuke was used to his brother's busyness and didn't think much of it.

Naruto ignored this guy who lacked endurance.

He had to replenish his Chakra after just two or three hours of grinding.

The Nine-Tailed's resentment over these four days was greater than anyone's.

Several times, it had refused to let him enter the Sealing Space.

It was practically a rebellion.

Naruto pondered the remaining tasks.

According to the procedures from his previous life, the rice stalks needed to be threshed with a machine, then the grain needed to be dried, and finally husked with a mortar and pestle machine.

Threshing could be done with Chakra, but husking... that difficulty level was a bit high.

He didn't want to work hard for several months only to have nothing left in the end.

He at least wanted to taste it.

[Congratulations to the host for achieving the 'Catcher in the Rye' achievement. You have gained one normal card draw.]

Naruto was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts by the system's voice.

What a pleasant surprise.

"Sasuke, how's your luck usually?"

"Huh?"

Sasuke was busy missing his dear older brother, and the sudden question left him a bit dazed.

"Luck? It's okay, I guess. Why are you asking?"

"Nothing."

Naruto suddenly remembered that Sasuke's clan was about to be massacred.

That kind of luck was beyond the description of 'okay'.

He rubbed his hands together and muttered: "System, draw card."

[Drawing card... Congratulations to the host for obtaining one item card.]

Naruto's eyes widened.

Holy crap!

A golden legendary!

This was the first time he'd drawn a gold since getting the system.

He hurriedly flipped the card over.

[item card: Golden Spatula.]

[Description: Permanent item, farming tool. When planting any plant, there is a certain chance of producing a special effect.]

Naruto stroked his chin.

It was a bit different from what he'd imagined.

This was a support card; it couldn't be directly converted into combat power, and it didn't specify what kind of effect would be gained.

And 'a certain chance'... that was another huge pitfall.

After all, 0% is a 'certain chance', and 100% is also a 'certain chance'.

But regardless, Naruto held strong expectations for it.

What if?

In everything, there's always a 'what if'.

What if he successfully struck gold?

If it directly gave him a Rinnegan, he'd dare to go find Uchiha Madara for a dance-off.

Oh wait, Madara shouldn't be in this world anymore.

Then he'd go find Black Zetsu for a heart-to-heart talk.

Naruto snapped back to reality.

He was getting ahead of himself.

A golden shovel appeared in his hand.

Hmm, it looked a bit like the one Sister Bao'er used to bury bodies.

What should he plant?

His first reaction upon seeing the Golden Spatula was to plant trees.

After all, it was quite large.

Using it to plant flowers and grass didn't seem quite right.

Naruto put away the Golden Spatula, left the task of threshing the rice to Sasuke, and went to the shop.

After wandering around, he bought twenty-one peach tree saplings.

According to the owner's recommendation, autumn was just the right season for planting peach trees, and they were very easy to keep alive.

However, the only slow part was bearing fruit, which would take at least three years.

But irrigating them with Chakra should be able to shorten the growth cycle.

"Twenty-one trees; no matter how unlucky I am, at least one should have a special effect."

With his Treehouse as the center, Naruto cleared a large patch of open ground.

With a three-meter interval, he planted three rows, seven trees per row.

Well, seven is a number with a story.

Autumn passed, and winter arrived.

Naruto was now seven years old.

He shed the title of a first-grade elementary student and successfully became a second-grader.

It was the first day of the new term.

Naruto slipped away to the Hyuga Clan residence early in the morning.

Just as he was preparing to spirit away the little loliHinata, he bumped into Hyuga Hiashi.

"Naruto, come in."

Hyuga Hiashi glanced at the sneaky little fellow outside the gate.

Did he really think he hadn't been discovered?

"Uncle Hyuga."

Naruto put on a bright smile, looking like a good boy.

Hyuga Hiashi couldn't help but smile.

He seemed like a decent kid.

"Hinata, go to school with Naruto. I have things to do, so I won't be going."

"O-Okay."

Hinata was slightly startled and said goodbye to Hyuga Hiashi.

Naruto breathed a sigh of relief.

Meeting the future father-in-law was indeed nerve-wracking.

He took Hinata's small hand and walked toward the school.

The little loli didn't react at first, but after a few steps, her face turned bright red.

[Congratulations to the host for achieving the 'I Am Destiny' achievement. You have gained one targeted card draw.]

Huh?

System teacher, what happened?

Naruto was completely bewildered.

Then, a large wave of memories flooded into his mind.

They came from a Shadow Clone that had died while wandering outside.

(New week, asking for recommendation votes.)
