Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Blood, Secrets, and the Truth of the Valkrith Name

The forest behind Aurelion Elite University was ancient.

Older than the university.

Older than most supernatural dynasties that now ruled Europe.

Tall black trees stretched toward the night sky, their branches twisting together like silent guardians of forgotten secrets. Moonlight barely reached the forest floor, leaving most of the ground covered in deep shadows.

And in the center of those shadows…

Three vampires lay frozen on the ground.

Unable to move.

Unable to escape.

Their crimson eyes were filled with fear.

Because standing over them was the girl they had come to kill.

Selene Valkrith.

Selene stood calmly among the trees.

Her long dark hair moved slightly with the night breeze, and her silver eyes studied the vampires with cold patience.

The fight had lasted less than fifteen seconds.

Not because the vampires were weak.

But because Selene had been trained to fight enemies far stronger than them.

For ten years.

Every day.

Every night.

One of the vampires struggled against the invisible pressure locking his body.

His muscles refused to obey him.

"What… did you do…?" he growled.

Selene crouched down beside him slowly.

Her movements were quiet.

Controlled.

She placed two fingers lightly against his forehead.

A faint silver glow flickered.

Not magic.

Something deeper.

Something connected to blood.

The vampire gasped suddenly.

Images flooded his mind.

Selene's voice remained calm.

"You were sent here tonight."

Her silver eyes watched every small reaction in his face.

"By who?"

The vampire tried to resist.

But Selene's power pressed deeper into his mind.

Not forcing.

Guiding.

Like opening a locked door.

The vampire's thoughts began spilling out.

"The Crimson Council…"

Selene's eyes narrowed slightly.

So it had begun.

The Crimson Council.

One of the oldest and most powerful supernatural organizations in Europe.

Formed by ancient vampire houses after the fall of the Valkrith Dynasty.

But their true purpose had always been simple.

To make sure the Valkrith bloodline never returned.

Selene stood slowly.

Her mind moved quickly through the information.

The council already suspected something.

But not everything.

Otherwise they wouldn't have sent three low-ranking vampires.

They would have sent hunters.

Real hunters.

The second vampire spat blood onto the ground.

"You shouldn't exist," he hissed.

Selene looked down at him calmly.

"You destroyed my family," he continued angrily.

"The world is safer without Valkrith monsters."

Selene tilted her head slightly.

"Is that what they told you?"

The vampire glared at her.

"You ruled the supernatural world with fear."

Selene's expression remained calm.

But inside…

Memories stirred.

Ten years ago.

Before the war.

Before the flames.

Before the betrayal.

The Valkrith Dynasty had ruled nearly half of supernatural Europe.

Not as tyrants.

But as rulers.

Their castle had stood high in the Black Forest mountains.

A fortress protected by ancient magic.

Selene remembered running through its endless halls as a child.

Her mother laughing.

Her father teaching her sword forms in the courtyard.

She remembered the throne room.

A massive chamber carved entirely from obsidian stone.

The seat of the Vampire Throne of Valkrith.

The throne that controlled dozens of vampire houses and wolf territories.

A throne that balanced power across the supernatural world.

But power always creates enemies.

The vampire nobles hated bowing to the Valkrith rulers.

The wolf alphas wanted independence.

And some witches feared the dynasty's growing strength.

So they united.

Secretly.

Silently.

Patiently.

Until the night they attacked.

Selene's voice returned to the present.

Cold.

Calm.

"You think my family deserved to die?"

The vampire sneered.

"You enslaved the supernatural world."

Selene shook her head slowly.

"No."

Her silver eyes darkened slightly.

"We protected it."

The third vampire suddenly laughed weakly.

"You really don't know, do you?"

Selene looked at him.

"Know what?"

The vampire's smile became twisted.

"The council didn't just destroy your family."

His voice dropped into a whisper.

"They erased your history."

Selene remained silent.

The vampire continued.

"Everything the Valkrith Dynasty ever built…"

"Every alliance…"

"Every treaty…"

"They rewrote it all."

His eyes burned with cruel amusement.

"In the history books…"

"You're the villains."

For the first time since arriving at the university…

Selene felt something shift inside her chest.

Not anger.

Something colder.

More dangerous.

Because lies could destroy empires.

But the truth could destroy worlds.

Selene stood quietly for several seconds.

Then she looked down at the vampires again.

"So the Crimson Council thinks I'm alive."

The first vampire laughed bitterly.

"They're not sure yet."

"But once they confirm it…"

His eyes gleamed with hatred.

"They'll send real hunters."

Selene nodded slowly.

That was expected.

She raised her hand.

The invisible pressure around the vampires tightened slightly.

They gasped.

Selene's voice remained calm.

"You made one mistake tonight."

The vampires stared at her.

"What mistake?" one whispered.

Selene's silver eyes glowed faintly.

"You came to kill me."

Her voice softened.

"But you forgot something important."

The forest suddenly felt colder.

"The Valkrith Dynasty didn't survive for centuries by being weak."

She turned away.

The pressure holding the vampires suddenly vanished.

They gasped, finally able to move again.

But none of them stood up.

Because they understood something terrifying.

Selene hadn't killed them.

She had spared them.

On purpose.

Selene's voice echoed through the forest as she walked away.

"Go back to the Crimson Council."

The vampires looked up.

"And tell them the truth."

She paused slightly.

"The Valkrith heir is alive."

Her silver eyes looked over her shoulder.

"And if they want to finish what they started…"

A faint smile touched her lips.

"They should send someone strong enough to try."

The vampires watched her disappear into the shadows.

None of them spoke for a long time.

Because every instinct inside them screamed the same terrifying truth.

The girl they had come to kill…

Was not hiding anymore.

Back at the university dormitory.

Raven was sitting on the balcony railing when Selene returned.

She didn't look surprised.

She simply smirked.

"Took you long enough."

Selene stepped inside calmly.

"You were awake."

Raven shrugged.

"Please."

She pointed toward the forest.

"You think I didn't smell vampire blood?"

Selene walked past her.

Raven tilted her head.

"So…"

Her golden eyes narrowed.

"How many did you kill?"

Selene paused.

Then she answered quietly.

"None."

Raven blinked.

"Seriously?"

Selene looked at her.

"I wanted them to carry a message."

Raven grinned slowly.

"Oh."

She leaned back on the railing.

"You're one of those terrifying people."

Selene raised an eyebrow.

"What kind?"

Raven's smile widened.

"The kind who doesn't just win fights."

Her golden eyes gleamed with excitement.

"The kind who starts wars."

Far away.

In a hidden castle deep within the mountains.

A messenger vampire dropped to his knees before a circle of powerful figures seated around a dark table.

His voice trembled.

"We found her."

The council members leaned forward.

"Selene Valkrith."

Silence filled the room.

Then one ancient vampire slowly stood.

His eyes burned like crimson fire.

"So the last heir survived."

His voice echoed through the chamber.

"Prepare the hunters."

Because the return of Selene Valkrith was no longer a rumor.

It was now a threat.

And the supernatural world had just learned that the dynasty they tried to erase…

Was finally coming back.

But now that the Crimson Council knows the Valkrith heir is alive, how many powerful enemies will rise from the shadows to stop Selene before she can reclaim the throne that once ruled the supernatural world?
