Despite the soldiers telling the students not to speak during the explanation of the rules, Mono couldn't help himself. When he saw Quinn's back, he had to let that little annoyance know he was there.
As a result of Mono speaking, it made one of the guards turn around and stare him down.
"No talking to the prisoner," the guard chastised.
At that moment, Quinn turned to see Mono's face for himself, and the two locked eyes. Despite actively getting called out by the guard, he looked very proud of himself.
It didn't last very long as Quinn was shoved to face the front.
The sheer mention of a prisoner made several students think amongst themselves why there was a prisoner competing with them, distracting them from focusing on the soldiers re-explaining the rules.
