Chapter 1 - contract marriage with millionaire

A Contract Written in Silence

When Ayesha Sen signed the contract, she told herself it was just ink on paper.

Nothing more.

No emotions.

No expectations.

No love.

Just a deal.

But life had a way of laughing at plans.

Chapter 1:

The Offer

Ayesha sat in the corner of a quiet café, fingers wrapped around a cup of coffee she hadn't touched. Outside, Kolkata bustled like it always did—honking cars, street vendors shouting, life moving forward without pause.

Her life, however, had stopped.

Her father was in the hospital. The bills were rising. And she had nothing left to sell—not even hope.

That's when her phone buzzed.

Unknown Number.

She hesitated before answering.

"Miss Ayesha Sen?" The voice was calm. Polished. Powerful.

"Yes."

"I represent Mr. Armaan Roy. He would like to meet you regarding a business proposal."

She frowned. "I don't know any Armaan Roy."

A pause.

"You will want to."

Chapter 2:

The Millionaire

The Roy Mansion didn't look real.

It was too grand. Too perfect. Like something from a movie.

Ayesha stood at the gates, feeling out of place in her simple kurti. The guards let her in after checking her name.

Inside, everything gleamed—marble floors, crystal chandeliers, silence that spoke of power.

And then she saw him.

Armaan Roy.

Tall. Composed. Dressed in a perfectly tailored suit. His presence filled the room like gravity.

He didn't smile.

"You're late," he said.

She glanced at the clock. She wasn't.

"I came on time."

His lips twitched, almost amused.

"Good. You're not submissive. That will help."

"Help with what?"

He gestured to a chair.

"Sit. I'll explain."

Chapter 3:

The Proposal

Armaan didn't waste time.

"I need a wife."

Ayesha blinked.

"…What?"

"A contract marriage," he clarified. "One year. Public appearances. Family obligations. Nothing more."

She stared at him.

"Is this some kind of joke?"

"No."

His tone made it clear—he never joked.

"Why me?"

"You're educated. You have no criminal record. You're financially desperate." He slid a file toward her. "And you won't attract unnecessary attention."

Her face flushed with anger.

"You investigated me?"

"I don't make deals blindly."

She clenched her fists.

"And what do I get?"

"Fifty lakh rupees. Half upfront. Half after one year."

Her breath caught.

That amount could save her father.

Could fix everything.

But—

"What's the catch?"

"No emotional involvement. No interference in my personal life. And absolute discretion."

"And if I refuse?"

He leaned back.

"Then you walk away. And nothing changes for you."

Silence stretched between them.

Ayesha looked at the contract.

Then she thought of hospital corridors… unpaid bills… her father's tired smile.

She picked up the pen.

Chapter 4:

The Wedding

The wedding was extravagant.

Media cameras flashed. Socialites whispered. Headlines screamed:

"Business Tycoon Armaan Roy Marries Mystery Woman."

Ayesha wore red silk, heavy jewelry weighing her down like chains.

Armaan stood beside her, calm as ever.

To the world, they looked perfect.

Inside, they were strangers.

When the rituals ended, he leaned slightly toward her and said quietly:

"Remember—this is just a performance."

She nodded.

"I know."

But something in her chest felt… different.

Chapter 5

Living Together

Life in the mansion was surreal.

Ayesha had her own wing. Staff attended to her. Clothes appeared in her wardrobe like magic.

But Armaan?

He was distant.

Always working. Always serious.

They barely spoke outside of public events.

One night, she found him in the study, staring at nothing.

"You should sleep," she said.

He didn't look at her.

"So should you."

She crossed her arms.

"You're not the only one who notices things."

That got his attention.

He turned slightly.

"What do you mean?"

"You act like someone who hasn't slept properly in years."

For a moment, something flickered in his eyes.

Then it vanished.

"You're here to play a role, Ayesha. Not analyze me."

She held his gaze.

"Maybe you shouldn't have married someone who thinks."

Chapter 6

Cracks in the Wall

Days turned into weeks.

And slowly, things changed.

It started small.

He remembered how she liked her tea.

She noticed he hated loud spaces.

They began talking—not much, but enough.

One evening, during a family dinner, Armaan's uncle made a snide comment.

"Marrying a girl from such a… modest background. How generous of you, Armaan."

Ayesha stiffened.

Before she could respond, Armaan spoke.

"She's my wife. Choose your words carefully."

The room fell silent.

Ayesha looked at him, surprised.

Later, she asked, "Why did you defend me?"

He shrugged.

"I don't like disrespect."

"That's not the same thing."

He didn't answer.

Chapter 7

The Truth Behind Armaan

The truth came out unexpectedly.

Ayesha found an old photo in his study.

A younger Armaan… smiling… with a woman.

"Who is she?" Ayesha asked when he walked in.

He froze.

For the first time, she saw him… shaken.

"My past."

"That's not an answer."

He hesitated.

Then finally said:

"She was supposed to be my wife."

Ayesha's heart tightened.

"What happened?"

"She left. For someone richer. More powerful."

His voice was flat, but his eyes told another story.

"That's why you made this contract?"

"I don't believe in love anymore."

Ayesha looked at him quietly.

"Maybe you're just afraid of it."

His jaw tightened.

"Don't cross that line."

Chapter 8:

Falling Without Permission

It happened slowly.

And then all at once.

Ayesha started noticing him more.

The way he loosened his tie after a long day.

The way his voice softened when he spoke to his mother.

The way he looked at her… sometimes… when he thought she wasn't watching.

And Armaan?

He noticed everything.

Her laughter.

Her stubbornness.

Her kindness.

One night, the power went out during a storm.

Ayesha hated thunderstorms.

She sat in the dark, trying to stay calm.

Then there was a knock.

Armaan.

He didn't say anything—just stood there.

"I don't like storms," she admitted.

He stepped inside.

"Neither do I."

They sat in silence as thunder roared outside.

For the first time, the distance between them felt… smaller.

Chapter 9:

The First Break

The illusion shattered one evening.

Ayesha overheard a conversation.

Armaan speaking to someone on the phone.

"…It doesn't matter. It's just a contract. She means nothing."

The words hit like a slap.

She walked away before he saw her.

That night, she avoided him.

The next day.

And the next.

Finally, he confronted her.

"What's wrong with you?"

She laughed bitterly.

"Nothing. I finally understand my place."

He frowned.

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't worry. I won't 'interfere' in your life. I'll stick to the contract."

Something in her tone made him pause.

But instead of asking… he let her go.

Chapter 10:

Distance

They became strangers again.

Worse than before.

Because now… there were feelings involved.

Ayesha kept her distance.

Armaan buried himself in work.

Neither spoke about what was really wrong.

Until one day—

Ayesha collapsed.

Chapter 11:

Realization

When Armaan got the call, something inside him snapped.

He rushed to the hospital.

Seeing her lying there—pale, unconscious—broke something in him.

"What happened?" he demanded.

"Exhaustion. Stress," the doctor said.

He sat beside her.

For hours.

When she finally woke up, he was still there.

"You didn't have to come," she whispered.

His voice was rough.

"Yes. I did."

She looked at him.

"Why?"

He didn't answer immediately.

Then, quietly:

"Because you're not 'nothing' to me."

Her eyes filled with tears.

"Then why did you say that?"

He closed his eyes.

"I was lying."

Chapter 12:

The Truth

Back at the mansion, everything changed.

Armaan finally spoke.

"I've spent years convincing myself that emotions are weakness," he said.

Ayesha listened silently.

"But you…" He exhaled. "You make that impossible."

Her heart pounded.

"What are you saying?"

"I don't know when it happened. But this isn't just a contract anymore."

Silence.

Heavy. Fragile.

"Say it clearly," she whispered.

He looked at her.

And for the first time—truly looked.

"I love you."

Chapter 13:

Choice

Tears slipped down Ayesha's face.

"This wasn't part of the deal," she said softly.

"I know."

"You said no emotions."

"I was wrong."

She took a shaky breath.

"What happens after one year?"

He stepped closer.

"We tear the contract."

"And then?"

"Then we stay. Not because we have to… but because we want to."

She searched his face.

For doubt. For hesitation.

There was none.

"Say it again," she said.

"I love you."

She smiled through tears.

"I hate you for making me fall for you."

He almost smiled.

"I'll take that."

Chapter 14:

Beyond the Contract

A year later, the contract expired.

No lawyers.

No negotiations.

Just two people.

Standing together.

Choosing each other.

Freely.

The world still saw them as the perfect power couple.

But now—

It wasn't an act.

It was real.

Epilogue

Ayesha once thought love was a luxury she couldn't afford.

Armaan once thought love was a risk he wouldn't take.

But somewhere between signatures and silence…

They found something neither had planned.

Something no contract could define.

Something real.

The End.
