The Core Identity: Humans are physically the weakest race on Aetheria, lacking the immense Chakra reserves of the Beast-Men, the density of the Dwarves, or the natural lifespan of the Elves. However, they possess the highest Qi (soul) plasticity in the world. In the Dominion, to be human is to burn—to spend your life pushing back the Void, even if it means burning yourself out in the process.
1. The Leadership & The Divine
The Patron Beast (The Vermilion Monarch): A Level 94 Mythic Astral Phoenix representing "Death and Rebirth." It does not live in a physical lair; rather, it exists as a massive, dormant star-fire entity in the upper stratosphere. It is believed that every human soul contains a microscopic spark of its flame.
The Ruler (The Emperor of the Risen Sun): A fair, just, and deeply unwilling ruler who took the throne to prevent humanity's extinction after a bloody Succession War. He carries the crushing burden of a broken nation and possesses the Solar Domain—a unique bond that allows him to temporarily burn away the very concept of darkness.
2. The Power System: Aura of Ascension (The Wick and the Flame)
In the Dominion, a human without a Spirit Beast is a fragile mortal. Magic is achieved through a symbiotic soul bond:
The Human (The Wick): Provides the structure, the martial training, and the Qi to stabilize the bond.
The Beast (The Flame): Provides the raw elemental Chakra, the stamina, and the physical shape of the magic.
When an Awakened human activates their Aura, they draw their Spirit Beast's soul over their own body like an ethereal exosuit.
The Awakened Baseline: Even when a beast rests in the soul-space, the bonded human gains superhuman bone density and reflexes. A standard Level 10 infantryman can punch through a brick wall or perfectly track a flying arrow.
Soul-Scarring: If a beast dies in combat, the human is "Soul-Scarred." They permanently lose their glowing Aura and magical output, but retain their superhuman physical baseline. The Dominion's veteran ranks are filled with these terrifying, magic-less martial artists who fight with pure, colorless physical force.

The Mission: Acting as mobile beacons in the darkest parts of the Great Wilds, they burn away corruption. Currently, they are hunting for the prophesied "Starlight Heir"—a figure wielding a celestial blue flame destined to break the stalemate and save the dying empire.
