Chapter 11 - You know

The woman was good-looking, with black hair tied back neatly.

Her facial features, rather than being beautiful or delicate like those of a typical lady, were instead fierce and mature. Her skin was fair, though slightly tanned, giving her a healthy and strong appearance.

Jace instinctively reached for his forehead and activated his Spirit Vision.

He saw that her body possessed superhuman vitality with ample spirituality, and her emotions were extremely calculative. But her soul body showed unstable fluctuations—something that led him to believe she was nearing the point of losing control.

He guessed she was likely from the Giant or Hunter pathway, but his spiritual intuition told him it was the latter.

Jace then looked at the other woman standing beside the host.

Her body appeared normal, and she possessed less spirituality than him. However, her mind was extremely calculative, which led him to believe she was a Sequence 9 Spectator.

The host—or rather, hostess—noticed his actions and asked,

"So, what do you see?"

Her voice was soft, yet carried a firm strength.

Jace looked at her and said while removing his hood,

"I see that the lady standing beside you is a Sequence 9 Spectator, and you yourself are a Sequence 7 Pyromaniac who is about to lose control."

"So you know why I called you here," she said with a calm expression.

"You… want me to help you not lose control?" Jace asked hesitantly, confusion evident on his face.

The woman simply looked at him for a moment.

"You really are young…"

"Why do you think I can help you? And how did you find me anyway?"

She then pulled out a fist-sized crystal ball.

"A guy sold me this for 2000 pounds. It makes the user good at astrology divinations and anti-divination."

That sounds like an artifact from Sequence 7 Astrologer of the Door pathway…

Wait a minute…

The divinations I performed before coming here might as well be null. She must have used anti-divination of a Sequence 7 level.

She continued,

"It has quite a few tricks. When I used it to divine about my problem, it simply led me to today's gathering. Since I myself host this gathering, it was obvious that, other than the regular participants, you were the only new attendee."

"…."

She continued,

"I also heard that Beyonders from the Spectator pathway can resolve this issue, so I had her become a Spectator."

Jace nodded.

"Spectator is Sequence 9. Only after reaching Sequence 7 Psychiatrist can she truly help you…"

"I do have another way, but it will cost you."

"How much?" she asked.

"How much do you think your life is worth?" Jace asked with a wry smile, though he was genuinely nervous since he had not foreseen this situation.

After a moment of consideration, she answered in a firm voice.

"500 pounds."

This woman…

In Jace's mind, she was really attractive.

She was tall and strong, and she had that authoritative finality in her voice.

It brought out Jake's fantasies about strong and dominant women.

Realizing this, Jace's face flushed slightly as he tried his best to compose himself. He knew the Spectator was watching closely.

"Okay," he said, his voice coming out lower than he intended.

"When did you advance to Sequence 7?" he asked, clearing away his unusual thoughts.

"About a month ago," she replied with a nod.

"And I suppose your problems started after consuming the potion?" Jace asked.

"Yes."

Jace sighed.

"In this age, most Beyonders are prone to losing control. It makes things different for the seven orthodox churches. They have a simple solution for this issue, yet they hide it."

Interest appeared in the woman's eyes.

But the woman standing beside her showed no reaction at all.
