Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Abyss of Truth

"To face the truth is to risk losing yourself in it."

The void collapsed around me.Shadows screamed. The air burned with the weight of every accusation, every doubt, every fear.

The prosecution's form towered over me, shifting constantly—half human, half nightmare."Lawyer! Do you see? He cannot be defended! His sins are absolute!"

Lyra's presence pressed into my mind, sharp and commanding:"Samer… anchor yourself. This is the final mental test before revelation. One slip… and you will be consumed."

I clenched my fists, teeth gritted, heart pounding."I will not fail."

The Client's True Burden

The defendant's chains rattled, echoing in the abyss. He met my gaze, eyes heavy with truth and terror."Lawyer… it's time you see everything. I never wanted this to come to light."

The floor beneath us fractured.Projections emerged—memories I had never seen:A warehouse. A group of humans trapped inside. The glowing-eyed woman beside him.Screams, fire, desperation.

And then… a revelation. He had made a choice: save the child, save the glowing-eyed woman, but leave others behind.Every life left was a mark on his soul.

Lyra whispered:"This is it. The core of his secret. The weight he carries… and the reason the prosecution thrives on fear."

The Prosecution's Assault Intensifies

The shadows surged violently, merging with the projections."See him! See the lives he left! He is guilty! You are complicit!"

The void twisted.Screams overlapped.Memories collided with imagination.Every fiber of my being screamed to flee.

Lyra's hand pressed against my chest."Do not succumb to panic. The intent is the anchor."

I focused. The defendant's actions—every choice, every hesitation—reflected fear, protection, and impossible morality.Intent and consequence intertwined.Guilt was not absolute.

Confronting the Core Secret

The defendant's gaze held me."Lawyer… now you see. I saved some… I failed others… and I carry it all. Can you still defend me?"

The projections shifted violently. The glowing-eyed woman's face twisted, merging with the faces of those left behind.I felt the prosecution's manipulations twisting reality itself.

Lyra whispered:"This is the heart of the trial. See the intent. Navigate the guilt. Survive the manipulation."

I inhaled deeply."I see you… as you are. Not as they paint you. Not as fear dictates."

Mind Against Mind

The prosecution's form screamed."You cannot discern truth from lies! You will fail!"

Shadows lunged.Memories screamed.Time fractured. The void became a hurricane of despair and accusation.

I anchored myself in the client's intent.Every life saved.Every choice made.Every consequence endured.

The shadows faltered. The prosecution's expression twisted, faltering into something like uncertainty.

Lyra's eyes glowed faintly red."You have grasped it. But the hardest trial is not over. One more step… and the abyss will challenge your very soul."

Cliffhanger: The Edge of Oblivion

The void trembled. The floor cracked beneath us.The shadows coalesced into a vortex of screaming faces—victims, memories, projections, fears.

The client whispered:"Lawyer… if you proceed, there is no turning back. My secret… the truth… will consume you as it has me."

The prosecution's voice roared:"Do you dare face the full truth?! Or will you collapse like the others?!"

The darkness lunged.I braced myself. And I understood—the trial had reached the point of no return.

"I… am ready," I whispered.
