Chapter 41 - 41 The Evil Cultivators Draw Near

One morning, Lia returned from a scouting flight with a grim expression. "They're coming. The evil cultivators—they've destroyed another settlement to the east. They're following Miguel's trail."

"How do they know where we are?" Kiko asked, his hands tightening into fists.

"Because I'm growing stronger," Miguel said quietly. "The crystal reacts to my cultivation, and they can sense its energy. They're hunting me because of my potential."

"Then we'll be ready for them," Maya said firmly. "We've been training together—we're stronger as a group than we ever could be alone."

Rene nodded, looking up at the sky. "The stars say this is the moment we've been preparing for. We can't run forever—we have to stand and fight."

Mang Dante approached them, his face serious. "I've already sent word to other Aswang communities. The Mangungulam from the western plains are coming, and the Tagapangalaga ng Bulkan—Volcano Keepers—are on their way too. Different kinds of Aswang, all with their own cultivation paths, but all willing to fight for balance."

"Just like the elders taught me," Miguel said, holding up the Kristal ng Potensyal. It blazed with all the colors of the different cultivation paths—red, blue, green, gold, silver, amber, and more. "They sacrificed themselves so I could find others like us. Now it's our turn to stand together."

He looked at his new friends—at Lia's wings, Kiko's wooden skin, Maya's scales, Rene's starry eyes. Each had grown in their own way, shaped by their cultivation. Together, they were more than just different kinds of Aswang—they were a family united by purpose.
