Chapter 4 - Visions Within

March 20, Year of the Dragon's Wake

Chamber of Memories, Aeridor

The light from the Memory Stone wrapped around me like water, pulling me into a world between wakefulness and sleep.

First Vision

I stood in a vast field of golden grass under a sky with two moons. A woman with hair like fire stood before me, holding the same clear crystal I now held in my hand. Beside her was a bronze dragon—the same one that had saved us in the woods.

"The worlds are connected," the woman said, her voice echoing in my mind. "Earth and Aetheria were once one, split apart to protect both from the Shadow Lord's greed. But the balance can only hold for so long."

I watched as she raised the crystal, and light shot up into the sky, creating a shimmering portal. Through it, I could see skyscrapers and cars—my world.

Second Vision

Darkness spread across Aetheria like ink in water. Creatures made of shadow crept through villages, turning everything they touched gray and lifeless. The Forest Sentinels marched in formation behind a figure cloaked in black, whose eyes glowed with red light.

"The Shadow Lord has found a way to weaken the barrier between worlds," Elder Maeve's voice whispered through the vision. "If he succeeds, darkness will consume both Aetheria and Earth."

I saw cities from my world covered in shadow, people moving like empty shells. My heart ached at the sight.

Third Vision

I stood at the center of a great temple, surrounded by dragons, mages, and warriors from both worlds. In my hand was a staff topped with the Memory Stone, and I could feel power flowing through me—warm and bright, like sunlight.

"The Star-Blessed must unite both worlds," the fire-haired woman said, appearing beside me again. "Not with force, but with understanding. Your world has technology we need; ours has magic you've forgotten exists."

The vision showed us working together—building bridges between realms, sharing knowledge, and standing side by side to push back the darkness. Then, just as suddenly as it began, the light faded, and I was back in the Chamber of Memories.

I opened my eyes to find Lyra and Elder Maeve watching me closely. My hands were glowing with a soft, silver light that slowly faded away.

"What did you see?" Lyra asked quietly.

I told them everything—the connected worlds, the Shadow Lord's plan, the need to unite both realms. When I finished, Elder Maeve nodded slowly.

"As we feared," she said. "But there is hope in what you saw. The path is clear, though it will not be easy."

She stood and walked to a window overlooking the city. "First, you must train. We will teach you to control the magic within you—the magic that was awakened when you crossed through the portal. Lyra will be your guide and companion; she has the gift of sensing energy, which will help you learn."

"When do we start?" I asked, surprising myself with how sure my voice sounded. I still missed home, still wondered about my life back in Manila—but I knew now that I couldn't ignore what needed to be done.

"Tomorrow at dawn," Elder Maeve said, turning to smile at me. "We will take you to the Temple of the Stars, where the first Star-Blessed trained centuries ago. There, you will begin to understand what you truly are capable of."

As Lyra helped me stand, I looked at the Memory Stone in my hand. The tiny lights within it were still dancing, as if waiting for me to take the first step.

The road ahead would be long and dangerous. But for the first time since I'd woken up in this strange new world, I felt ready.
