Chapter 8 - Chapter 6: When Paths Cross Again

Naina and Maya had finally started their lives in India.

Their routine was moving smoothly—Maya was working at her company, and Naina had joined a hospital as a multi-specialty doctor.

One day, Maya was preparing to meet a new client. She gathered her documents and made her way to the conference room. But the moment she stepped inside, her world froze.

Sitting at the head of the table, surrounded by employees greeting him with respect, was none other than Kabir Malhotra—her forced husband.

Maya tried to compose herself. She avoided looking at him and focused on presenting her work professionally. She assumed Kabir didn't recognize her.

But she was wrong.

Kabir had noticed her the moment she entered. He didn't say a word during the meeting—but he didn't take his eyes off her either.

As the meeting ended, Maya hurried toward the exit, hoping to escape before he could say anything.

But just as she reached the door, his voice echoed through the room:

"Maya."

She froze. Her expression turned blank, confused.

Kabir walked toward her confidently, pulled her close, and whispered in her ear:

"How are you, biwi?"

Maya stood frozen. When she snapped back to reality, she pushed him away and said firmly,

"Stay away from me."

Kabir chuckled darkly.

"Biwi, how can I stay away from my wife? How could you leave your husband for six years?"

His voice grew angrier.

"Now that I've found you, you're not going anywhere."

Maya pushed him again and stormed out of the room.

Kabir stared after her with a devilish smile, thinking,

"You're mine, Maya. I will get you back—no matter what."

Meanwhile, at the hospital…

Naina's appointments were nonstop that day. But suddenly, she received a call from the hospital director requesting her to attend to a VVIP patient who needed a routine check-up.

The VVIP ward was reserved only for business tycoons and celebrities.

When Naina reached the floor, a man—likely the patient's secretary—was speaking on the phone just outside the room.

"Sir is busy right now, please schedule for tomorrow," she overheard.

Inside, the director was already speaking to someone, whose back was turned toward her.

As the director introduced the patient, the man turned around—

And Naina froze.

The man looked at her intently, and something about him felt familiar.

That's when she realized—he was the celebrity heartthrob, Manik Malhotra.

Naina composed herself and introduced,

"Mr. Malhotra, I'm Dr. Naina. May I ask what seems to be the issue?"

But Manik said nothing. He just stared at her with intense eyes.

In his mind, he was thinking:

"Baby… where were you all these years? I've been missing you. Now that I've found you again, you're not going anywhere. You're mine."

Naina had no idea that this man—this powerful celebrity—was the same person she had a one-night stand with six years ago.

The same man who was the father of her three children.

She completed the routine check-up while ignoring his constant gaze. As soon as it was over, she quickly walked out of the room.

Manik watched her leave, his eyes following her every step, and a devilish smile formed on his lips.

"Now that you're back, Naina… the real game begins."
