Chapter 1 - spark

Adam sat on the university steps, one knee raised, holding his books in one hand. His distant gaze reflected everything about someone who lacked confidence.

His problem was not with studying, nor with friendships… it was within himself.

Every social situation pushed him one step back. He was afraid to speak, afraid to be seen, even afraid to laugh at his own jokes.

Karim, his close friend since school days, sat beside him, wearing that calm, familiar smile Adam had always known.

Karim said:

"Man, same story every day?"

Adam gave a faint smile and replied:

"Yeah… I don't know what to do."

Karim laughed:

"It's obvious… your day is about to start now."

At that moment, Salma entered the hallway.

Her entrance was quiet, yet she drew attention without trying.

Her long hair fell naturally over her shoulders, her خطوات were steady, and her gaze was composed, as if she knew exactly where she was going.

She didn't look around much, and she didn't try to attract attention… yet attention was drawn to her anyway.

Adam noticed immediately.

His heartbeat quickened for no clear reason, as if something inside him had suddenly awakened.

He kept looking at her for a few seconds longer than he should, then quickly looked away.

Karim noticed and smiled:

"Who are you looking at?"

Adam hesitated and said:

"No one."

Karim smirked:

"Sure… you're clearly interested."

Adam didn't respond, but he found himself looking at her again without realizing.

Salma sat on a nearby seat, took out her papers, and began reviewing them calmly.

Her movements were simple, yet organized, as if she had been in this place for a long time.

Adam tried to focus on his book…

He read one line… then read it again… then closed the book.

He couldn't focus.

Every time he tried to distract himself, his eyes drifted back to her.

And everything he noticed about her, no matter how small, made him more curious.

Karim, watching him, said:

"If you keep staring like that, nothing will happen."

Adam sighed and said quietly:

"I know… but I can't help it."

Karim looked at him for a moment, then said more seriously:

"Listen, Adam… if you want something, you have to move.

But more importantly… be yourself. Don't try to be someone else."

Adam fell silent, as if the words had hit something deep inside him.

Then he looked at Salma again…

but this time, it wasn't just admiration.

There was something else…

Curiosity… a desire to get closer… and perhaps the beginning of a challenge within himself.

He took a deep breath, and for the first time in a long while, he felt something new awaken inside him.

He didn't know where this feeling would lead him,

but he was sure of one thing…

this day would not be ordinary.
