Chapter 179 - Chapter 179: Patricide and Matricide?

Chapter 179: Patricide and Matricide?

The night was black as ink.

At the edge of Tokyo Jujutsu High's barrier, a slender figure stood quietly beneath the shadows.

Suguru Geto looked back one last time.

His gaze passed over the campus that had witnessed so much of his youth.

Shoko was probably still awake in the infirmary, buried in some tedious study of cursed pathology.

Haibara and Nanami had been trained to exhaustion by Yami that afternoon. They were likely already asleep.

And that white haired bastard with the Six Eyes was probably sitting on some rooftop, watching him leave without saying a word.

Goodbye, everyone.

Geto turned away.

Then he stepped beyond the barrier without hesitation.

Two small figures were waiting behind a nearby tree.

Nanako and Mimiko.

The twins Geto had rescued from the remote village trembled beneath the night air. The moment they saw him, both girls hurried over and clutched the hem of his clothes.

"Geto sama…"

Nanako raised her dirt stained face.

There was still fear in her voice.

"Where are we going?"

Geto looked down at the two girls.

The coldness in his eyes softened.

He placed a hand on each of their heads.

"Don't be afraid."

His voice was gentle.

"From today onward, no one will be allowed to hurt you again."

He took their hands.

"I'll take you somewhere you can live without being treated like monsters."

Then Geto led them into the darkness.

Several hours later, the three arrived at his childhood home in the suburbs.

This was where Suguru Geto had grown up.

And in the original future, this house had marked another irreversible step into darkness.

The place where he had supposedly murdered his own parents.

Geto stood outside the familiar gate for several seconds.

Then he took a deep breath and pushed it open.

The house was completely dark.

Silent.

There was no greeting from his mother.

No stern voice from his father asking why he had returned so late.

Because the house was already empty.

The previous day, Yami had secretly arranged for Geto's parents to leave Japan.

They had been relocated overseas without the higher ups noticing.

According to Yami, they were even staying in the same community as Riko Amanai and Misato Kuroi.

Passports.

New identification.

Bank accounts containing enough money for them to live comfortably for the rest of their lives.

Everything had been prepared.

Thinking about it, Geto could not stop a faint smile from appearing.

He walked into the living room.

A letter rested on the coffee table.

Geto picked it up and opened the envelope beneath the moonlight entering through the window.

The handwriting belonged to his mother.

It was slightly hurried, but every line carried the same familiar concern.

"Suguru,

That young man named Yami told us you are about to take part in a secret mission and that we needed to leave the country for our safety.

I do not know exactly what you are doing, but I know you.

Ever since you were little, you have always tried to carry everything by yourself.

Please do not push yourself too hard.

Remember to eat properly. Wear something warm when the weather gets cold.

Your father and I will take care of ourselves.

When your mission is finished, come find us.

We will be waiting for you."

Geto stared at the letter.

His vision blurred.

A tear slid down his cheek and landed on the paper, smearing a small patch of ink.

"I'm sorry."

His fingers tightened slightly.

"Dad. Mom."

He pressed the letter against his chest and closed his eyes.

"Your son is unfilial."

For several seconds, he simply stood there.

Then he inhaled deeply.

When Geto opened his eyes again, the warmth had disappeared.

His gaze was cold.

Focused.

If he was going to perform this role, he had to perform it perfectly.

If he wanted the entire Jujutsu World to believe that Suguru Geto had become its greatest enemy, he could leave no obvious weakness behind.

"Come out."

Cursed Energy stirred.

Several grotesque Cursed Spirits appeared throughout the living room.

Geto looked around the home that had held so many memories.

Then he gave the order.

"Destroy everything."

The Cursed Spirits moved.

Furniture was smashed apart.

Walls cracked.

Cabinets collapsed.

The television was reduced to twisted scrap.

Within minutes, the peaceful home had become a wreck.

Geto then carried several containers into the house.

Pig blood.

Prepared in advance.

Without expression, he poured it across the walls, floor, and furniture.

The metallic smell of blood quickly filled the room.

Geto looked at the scene.

Still not enough.

He drew a dagger.

Without hesitation, he cut deeply into his own arm.

Blood immediately ran down his skin.

He let it fall across the floor, mixing with the animal blood and the scattered remains inside the ruined house.

Outside the doorway, Nanako and Mimiko watched with frightened eyes.

Their hands covered their mouths.

Neither girl ran.

To them, Suguru Geto was already the person who had pulled them from hell.

Their only protector.

When everything was prepared, Geto stood in the center of the blood soaked room.

He raised one hand.

Cursed Energy gathered at his fingertips.

"It's time to end this pathetic farce."

His voice was barely above a whisper.

Geto looked around his childhood home for the final time.

"Goodbye."

A pause.

"To this rotten world."

Boom!

The gathered Cursed Energy shot forward.

Flames immediately consumed the room.

Fire climbed the walls, spread across the ceiling, and swallowed the home that contained Geto's childhood memories.

Within moments, flames surged into the night sky.

Their orange light reflected across Geto's face.

Cold.

Distant.

Almost unrecognizable.

He turned around.

Nanako and Mimiko each took one of his hands.

Geto walked away without looking back.

Behind them, the house continued to burn.

By the following morning, only smoking ruins remained.

Investigators from Tokyo Jujutsu High and the higher ups surrounded the scene.

Masamichi Yaga stood before the burned remains of the house.

His eyes were bloodshot.

He still could not accept the report in his hands.

Suguru Geto.

The student who had always insisted that Jujutsu Sorcerers existed to protect non sorcerers.

The Special Grade Sorcerer Yaga had placed so much hope in.

Had defected.

Worse, he was now suspected of massacring one hundred and twelve villagers in a remote settlement.

"Principal Yaga."

An investigator approached hurriedly.

His face was pale.

"We found a large amount of blood inside the ruins, along with traces left by several Cursed Spirits."

Yaga said nothing.

The investigator swallowed.

"Based on the volume of blood, the injuries involved would almost certainly have been fatal."

Yaga's fists tightened.

"There's something else."

The investigator hesitated before holding out a photograph.

"We found a message written in blood."

Yaga forced himself to look.

"What did it say?"

The investigator handed him the photograph.

Across a blackened wall, several large words had been written in blood.

Monkeys deserve to die.

Yaga froze.

His body swayed.

"Suguru…"

His eyes closed.

Two lines of tears ran down his face.

He understood what those words meant.

Geto had cut off every path back to ordinary life.

A village massacre could perhaps be argued as a mission that had gone catastrophically wrong.

But murdering his own parents?

That was different.

That was a line no one in the Jujutsu World would forgive.

From this moment onward, Suguru Geto's identity as the worst Curse User was no longer rumor.

It had become fact in the eyes of the world.

The news spread through Tokyo Jujutsu High with terrifying speed.

By afternoon, the entire campus had fallen into silence.

Shock.

Fear.

Disbelief.

No one knew what to say.

Far away, Geto continued walking through the darkness with Nanako and Mimiko beside him.

He never looked back.

From that night onward, he was no longer the brilliant Special Grade student of Tokyo Jujutsu High.

To the outside world, he had become a monster beyond redemption.

The worst Curse User of the modern age.

And this was only the opening act.
