Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A non-3-O system

Going back home to Nene, Maria quickly closed the door and sat down. Her feet were numb, and her body was cold.

"With this, we can survive for a bit more." Looking at the things she got today.

Looking at them, she made her way to the improvised kitchen she had set up in this box of theirs; it was simply three large rocks arranged in a triangle, allowing her to use it.

Using some of the remaining wood they had, she started cooking the instant noodles she had bought back from today's scouting.

Seeing the floor started getting colder, she grabbed a few wood pieces and went to the left corner of the box, where a small box was set.

This tiny box was what allowed this home of theirs to be warm even with the snow outside, as long as they filled it with fuel; they don't have to worry about the snow outside.

After that, she looked at the leftover rice they had last night; it was already noon, since food itself was scarce; they had no choice but to eat only at noon and sometimes dinner.

After cooking them, she warmed her body a bit, to ensure Nene won't worry about her. After a bit of time; her face was back to normal, nowhere to see the coldness it had taken.

Opening the bedroom door, Nene was still in the bed, watching Rey shoot down lizardmen in the barren land he was in.

"Nene, I have food," she called out, setting down a small table on the floor to place the bowl of instant noodles and a plate of rice on it.

Seeing these, Nene jumped down from the bed and sat next to her; "Ma look! Brother Rey can use magic." She pointed at Rey on the screen.

Hearing this, Maria summoned the system and watched what Rey was doing. On the screen, Rey was running away from two lizardmen, carrying multiple spears on him.

'Hmmm, he killed that many in that time I was out?' Maria thought, looking at Rey carrying more than five of them on him.

Suddenly, Rey turned around and knelt over, pointed at the enemies before him with his index finger, and let out mana bullets at them.

[ Player Rey has leveled up! ]

A system notification appeared in the corner of the screen. Seeing this, Maria fed Nene first before checking Rey's status window.

"Here ahhh....." Maria said, waiting for Nene to open her mouth. After letting the warm food stay in, and letting Nene drink the soup it had, Maria checked Rey's status.

[ Name: Rey Sunren. ]

[ Age: 18. Gender: Male. ]

[ Level: 4. Class: Summoner. ]

[ Country representative: Philippines. ]

[ Main stats: ]

( Physical: 72%. Energy: 40%. Mental: 30%. )

[ Normal skills: Mana Bullet (D-rank), Mana Shield (D-rank), and Escape (B-rank). ]

[ Title: Player. ]

Although the people on Earth can see their representative status window, they are limited to a few of them.

Such as their actual stats points the players have, the level of their skills, their class skills, talents, and many other things the players can see.

Instead, they can see whether the player's' physical, energy, and mental abilities are still at a high percentage, and their actual level.

Just looking at his main stats, she knew he wasn't taking things easy on his side, either; Rey was suffering to do things on his side.

'His physical stats are already at seventy percent, so he's been running all this time, while both his energy and mental stats are half now.'

Thinking this, she understood each time her nephew, whom she considered her own child; used magic and how he's been moving all this time; already taking a toll on him.

"He's already level four!" She exclaimed, finally realizing his levels and not expecting Rey's growth rate to be this fast.

Seeing his growth, Maria decided to leave Rey's show and looked at the global chat first. After just a few minutes of looking at the other countries' players, she went back to watching Rey's.

"He's the highest level so far! With a level gap of two." She said to Nene.

"Does that mean good?" Nene asked, tilting her head.

"It meant great!" Maria celebrates, grabbing Nene's waist and putting her in the air. "If he knows what he's doing, he can probably help us the fastest in the world!"

Putting Nene down; "Since this is Rey we're talking about, he probably already knows this and is hurrying up to do it too!"

Saying that, she looked at their country chatroom, and saw them celebrating Rey's growth too; their opinion about him choosing a shovel off their mind, and now glad he chose it.

"Sis, do you see your child now!" She called out to Rey's mother.

Looting the two lizards he killed for anything they had, Rey remembered something making him jump.

"Right! People back on Earth should be watching us players now!" He yelled out, calling out his status window and checking his System Points and Representative section together.

In his System Points section, the number 762 was on it; while the representative section had a (+) on the end of it.

"Good, just like the system guidelines said," Rey said; recalling the 40-50-minute-long guidelines the system gave to him hours ago, which he had almost slept through.

"Still..... my system points are still too low to use this." He said, looking at his status.

Recalling how the guidelines said about earning System Points, he realized a flaw within the system and wondered:

'Will this work?' thinking this, he opened his mouth and called out to the system.

"System.....how come I didn't receive system points when I gained skills and leveled them up? My Mana bullet skill is already level two, and I got three skills already, so how come I didn't get any points for them?" He said, then smiling at the system interference.

[ System: ]

[ Congratulations! You have successfully found the system's hidden game! ]

[ For finding this hidden game, you will receive 1,000 system points. ]

The system called out, trying to take care of this matter.

[ You have successfully obtained 1,000 system points for learning skills! ]

[ You have successfully obtained 100 system points for leveling up your skill: Mana bullet to level 2. ]

[ Status window:

System Points: 2,862 ]

"....." Rey looked at the system panels before him with pure disappointment.

"I see, so the system is not that at all-powerful, huh?" He questioned, seeing its action this last minute.

"To think the power that I'm putting my life on is this careless, is it even accurate in taking numbers on my stats!" He called, fearing his words were right about the system.

Sitting beside the corpses of the lizardmen he just killed, he brought out the water pouch he took from the first one and drank to his fill.

Wiping the sweat and dust on him, he blinked and closed his eyes for a minute: "haaah..... using magic skills takes too much mental power."

He said, understanding what the mental meant in the main stats of his; after using the Mana bullet in the last hour and a half.

Rey learn that each cast or use of skills: drains his mental power; the moment it reaches a certain level, his mental abilities and other skills within the mental category, will also diminish.

So even if he did have 1,000 mana points, he can't spam mana bullets, as his mental power won't be enough to use them all up.

Because of this, Rey learn why his main stats were, each level up.
